Very Happy Customers
We recently made several purchases in the carpet and flooring department of Sterling Home in Tillicoultry. We found all the staff to be helpful, knowledgable and efficient.
Dylan patiently advised us on our carpet choice. Mark then came to measure up and recommended Karndean LVT for our bathroom flooring. Brian explained the different Karndean products and helped us with our final choice. We are also grateful to Stewart the fitting manager. At the last minute he arranged alternative carpet fitters who made an excellent job as did the Karndean fitters.
My husband and I are delighted with the products we bought. The carpets, rug and tiles have been much admired.

A great experience
A great experience, We were looking at beds, the staff were very helpful, no pressure to buy. After buying ,we were notified about the process, kept up to date, and provided with a specific delivery date and time. They arrived on time and the two deliver men knew what they were doing, the job was done in no time and all the packing was taken away.

New Sofa Purchade…
We went into the Tillicoultry branch just on the off chance there might be a sofa that we liked. Michael Neish was very helpful going through the various options ie maxi sofa, 2 seater sofa, chairs, leather or fabric. Having spent time with us he wasn't pushy when we left saying we would "think about it". We returned several days later to buy said sofa and to his credit he remembered what combination and colour we had looked at.
Michael was a great help and we feel that the level of service was

Suite buying has many ups & downs & we were no different. But when it comes to peerless customer care we trust no-one more than Sterling.
We had a variety of issues with our new furniture but this company stood by us every step of the way until resolution.
The in-store staff at a variety of outlets offered courteous, friendly, honest advice and help. Equally, every assessor, engineer or technician we saw provided first class, unconditional insights.
No-one did more so than CS adviser Ashley Bruce, whose dedicated kindness & support (fully backed by her directors) epitomised outstanding service & that is what separates Sterling from its peers.

Damaged and Defective - presence of mould confirmed by lab testing
We purchased 3 items for our new house from Sterling. The first two were fine - we had no complaint. The third was a Harrison Spinks bed, purchased in May 2025, which was expensive - almost £5000.
Unfortunately, one of the drawers was stained/ marked, the headboard was damaged and the bed smelt musty. We raised this with customer service but nothing was resolved. We ended up scrubbing the drawer to remove the marks but couldn’t fix ourselves the damaged headboard or smell.
Sterling’s response was to blame the customer for not hounding them, despite the fact they eventually acknowledged they have a system error which lost correspondence. After letting them inspect the bed, they said, the drawer now looks ok - well we deep cleaned it. They might have made a goodwill gesture for the headboard, but they certainly wouldn’t replace it for an undamaged headboard - they can’t re-sell a damaged headboard and if we’d really been bother, we would have hounded them incessantly following. That response also missed the point. As far as the smell was concerned, tests showed the presence of mould and fungal spores. Sterling said all furniture has them - not exactly something they advertise, particularly where a bed is concerned. The customer service manager’s tone in her correspondence was just offensive, despite all the errors in it.
Harrison Spinks, who also inspected it, are just leaving it to Sterling.
Needless to say, we’ll never go to Sterling again or ever recommend them.

We looked into your concerns carefully. Replacement drawers were arranged following delivery, and when further issues were raised later in the year, the bed was inspected by both an independent specialist and the manufacturer, Harrison Spinks. These inspections did not find dampness, mould, staining or an ongoing odour, and the bed was confirmed to be in good order.
We also identified that a notification regarding a minor headboard indentation was regrettably missed at the time due to a system error. We acknowledged this and discussed possible next steps, however the inspections did not support a manufacturing fault or replacement.
We appreciate that you may disagree with this outcome and regret that we weren’t able to reach a resolution that satisfied you. We did share details of the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman should you wish to seek an independent review.
We’re sorry this experience has affected your view of Sterling Home.

A nice day out at Sterling
The two sales people (Ruby & Barry) were excellent. We bought Stressless chair and a 2 & 3 seater settees and their sales style was great, answered questions, very knowledgeable and no serious pressure. The new layout of the building is also good, easy to navigate and lovely to walk through.
