Very Slow Process
We initiated the process of starting a new company end of November 2024. By December all documents have been submitted to the chamber of commerce by startups. Up to date we still have no access to our bank account and therefore are blocked in our activites and get little to no assitance from Startups besides some vague statements

Unfortunately, the timeline for account opening depends on the banks and can sometimes take longer than expected, which is beyond our direct control.

Hidden Costs and Unmet Promises: A Cautionary Tale with startups.ch
I recently relocated my company from one canton to another. By law, this necessitated updating the address in the company’s bylaws and re-registering it with the new trade and companies register. Hoping to avoid the substantial fees of a notary for a minor documentation update, I sought a cost-effective alternative.
Enter startups.ch. I discovered them via Google and was initially impressed by their credentials and pricing — approximately a third of notary charges. Yet, the experience fell short of their website's promises:
1. Despite an upfront payment of nearly 500 CHF, there was no progress until I proactively reached out, weeks after submitting all required documents.
2. The promised initial phone consultation with a lawyer never materialized; interactions were solely with a secretary.
3. Rather than customizing my company's statutes, they utilized a generic template, omitting several sections. Including these came with a 300 CHF surcharge.
4. Beware of undisclosed fees. Costs for notarizing the authorized signature and additional trade and companies register fees were unanticipated.
Ultimately, I spent nearly 1,000 CHF for a basic service requiring considerable personal oversight. If you value your time and seek comprehensive documentation, I'd recommend consulting a notary. They typically handle all aspects seamlessly.

However, additional costs can arise depending on the complexity of the statutes, notarization requirements, or registry fees — though we understand and regret if these were not made sufficiently clear upfront.
We also regret that you did not receive the promised consultation with a lawyer and that communication fell short. This does not reflect the standard we strive for, and we will review your case internally to improve both transparency and client support.

Misleading advice
Setup of the company was fairly straightforward, however the lawyer misled me around the fee structure.
I was told I would still receive the discount for signing up with Credit Suisse if rejected: imagine my surprise when I received a bill for 210CHF!
I was also told I'd get a year's free accounting with findea under the package, but in fact I only received a voucher which would not cover a full year.

Avoid this company
Avoid this company. They are a bunch of incompetent professionals (or amateurs). I first used them to create a company in 2013, it was a royal pain. Then I gave them another chance in 2016, the experience was worse than in 2013... And finally, because I am very stupid, I gave them yet another chance in 2021. Took almost 5 months to make a simple change in the register of commerce. Hopefully I won't be fooled by their cheap prices again.
