You emailed us asking for information surrounding your second annual filing obligation. A reply was sent to you within 10 minutes detailing both of your annual filing obligations as a company director. To clarify, you have to do both filings mentioned in the email, these are a legal requirement.
If you were unsure of the information provided one of our team would have happily re-iterated or scheduled a call to discuss.
If you have not received the email sent to you, please let us know and we will happily re-send.

Received a letter from standard accounting about making my company dormant and having to pay.
We have nothing to do with that company. Ours Accountant is on time with all!
Be careful as when you scan the code is all your details on it.

Your response does not change my opinion. Sending unsolicited letters that create confusion and suggest a need for payment is misleading and appears to be a tactic aimed at pressuring businesses into using your services rather than genuinely offering support. A reputable accounting firm should not rely on such questionable marketing techniques to acquire clients.
If your intention was truly to assist, a more transparent and ethical approach would be expected. Searching for clients through such methods does not build trust or a good reputation for your company. Well-respected accountancy firms do not engage in these practices, as they uphold professional integrity in their client outreach.
I stand by my initial review and warn others to be cautious.

Standard Accounting is an independent accountancy firm. The letter was sent to you as a reminder of statutory filings, and states that you can file yourself directly with Companies House, or we invite you to use our services should you need assistance. It clearly states also that if you have an accountant you can discard the letter and speak to your accountant regarding the filing. All information is repeated on our website for full transparency.
When you scan the QR code, this presents your company details and filing deadlines for your information so you are well informed as to which filing is due and therefore can decide which service you require. The details presented are all publicly available and for information purposes.
We hope this helps clarify, and we wish you all the best.

Received a letter from standard accounting about making my company dormant and having to pay. I already made my company dormant and have no dealings with this company. I received letter of urgency regarding a payment. People also have the same experience . Please avoid this company .

We wrote to you to remind you of your company's statutory filings that were becoming due. We are an independent accountancy firm and offer our services should you need any assistance with filings. Whilst making your company dormant is a service which we provide, this was not something communicated to you as part of the reminder as needing to be done. Our service list is presented to you for you to make an informed decision based on your company needs. If you had already made the company dormant, the service therefore would not have been applicable to you.
We do not wish to communicate an urgency to you, but we do however wish to inform you of your deadlines per Companies House and you filing obligations as a company director. This has been appreciated by many other business owners who have benefited from a reminder which has meant they met their fling obligations on time.

Left a review a while ago stating the FACT that this company are purposefully styling their marketing to look like legitimate government agencies. Likely to stir fear and urgency in recipients. They flagged that review as ‘defamatory’. Defamatory my backside. Anyone with 2 eyes and half a brain cell could recognise the shady practices going on here. Shameful.

We are however responding to all reviews and asking for details so we can contact the reviewer to hopefully quash any concerns you may have. Some wording was flagged in your previous review which we felt was not a fair representation of our business especially as you were not a user of our services and made a judgement without experiencing the service first hand.
Our letter to you has all of our branding shown, and we state in multiple areas that we are not associated with any governing bodies, and we explain who we are and what we offer. In the instance this is missed, we have a team of friendly accountants ready to answer any questions you may have.

Deceptive marketing practices and extortionate prices.
Edit: Very telling that in their response Standard Accounting already knew the letter I was referring to even though I didn't mention it. They know it's misleading but don't care as long as it makes them money. Burying information in small text in an FAQs section on the back of the letter doesn't make this any better.

We believe that our letter clearly outlines why we have written to you, who we are, what we do, and contains a FAQ section on the reverse for full transparency. The FAQ section is repeated on the page you are taken to when following through with the letter, along with a further information hub.
We also have a team of wonderful accountants who are more than happy do discuss any concerns you may have. We wish for all recipients of the letter to be well informed and comfortable in any dealings they have with us.

With regards to previous reviews, it is a shame that this has influenced your decision regarding our services. All information surrounding who we are, what we do, and your filing obligations is all readily available.

Underhand tactics
I received a random letter from this company that I’ve never heard of or had any dealings with stating I hadn’t filed my confirmation statement and I could be prosecuted, fined and receive a criminal record, the letter felt very threatening.
I don’t think this company is a scam as mentioned in some other reviews but they are sending out unwarranted letters as a ploy to scare people into becoming customers of theirs.

We simply wanted to inform you of what was due, and what action Companies House can take per their guidance if the filing obligations are not met.
This has been a valuable insight to many company directors in their first year getting to grips with what needs to be done and when.
