I’ve been using SparkReceipt since 2024…

I’ve been using SparkReceipt since 2024 and it’s been great to see the team keep improving it without losing what made it so useful in the first place. Honestly, even if it had stayed as it was back then it still would’ve been worth it for me.

I work in business ops with SMBs (in a fractional/ad hoc capacity), so I need something simple but reliable to keep finances organized and CRA/ASPE/IFRS/GAAP-aligned. It’s a light lift for clients on input, but the output is organized, readable, and accountant ready.

What I appreciate most is that the updates actually add real value, they don’t just add noise or complexity. It’s stayed practical, which is rare.

Solid tool if you want something that just simply works.

Endorsement from an early adopter of SparkReceipt

I was an early adopter of SparkReceipt. It came into being about the time my business did. Even from the beginning Joel and his team nailed the solution to managing receipts. Simple to import and categorize my receipts and invoices (coming and going). I track all my expenses and income in SparkReceipt, and in my world, it has made that process extremely easy. There is a lot to the tool I have not needed to use yet given my moment in time. The improvements to the tool over time have been good. I recommend the tool to small business in particular (as that is what I am using it for). Simple to start up and use. Quality tool.

This product and its development team… Total Winner in my books 😁 (Pun Intended)

This product and its development team deserve and have earned five stars from me, despite some issues that arose along the way. With any software solution/product, it's expected, but it is how they respond that matters to me and their support is responsive and timely.

They roll out enhancements on a weekly/monthly basis. In April 2026 alone, a significant number of major enhancements were deployed. I am already using most of them. The product capability is expanding and growing rapidly. I am a believer in the path the development team is heading towards.

For my part, I own a small business (work it part-time) and hold down a full-time job at a large enterprise entity. Managing my business expenses and receipts wasn't my strength. SparkReceipt has changed how I do my own small business. It is totally helping me get my finances 'organized'.

I have used SparkReceipt almost every day since I acquired 4 codes (seats) on AppSumo back in October 2024. I saw the product's vision and functionality and began using it right away. It made my life easier, bookkeeping-wise, from day one. I have never looked back.

As time progressed, I suggested a couple of enhancements (and found out others were asking for the same), and within a couple of months, the developers incorporated them into the product.

The latest ability to pull receipts from Outlook/Gmail/IMAP is a huge value-add to the tool. QuickBooks integration (been there a while) is a real value add. I have purchased additional credits (10,000+ credits to date) to go back in time on 2 of my email accounts and ensure I have not missed anything. It worked almost too well. Between the 2 accounts, over 1200 emails were pulled into SparkReceipt. The review process for accepting or rejecting them was straightforward and required little effort once rules were established for similar expenses/receipts. This also trains the AI for future email extractions. It took me some time to classify all the expenses that were pulled from the emails, but now, when emails are pulled, they are quick to review/classify, and the 'garbage' emails are being filtered out based on the prefiltering rules created by SparkReceipt and the ones I have set up within the tool.

Some additional valued features I use daily is their real-time document management filters and searches. I can find any receipt/payment/document in seconds.

I have not yet utilized the banking statement ingestion, but I intend to start using it in 2026. The Dashboard (Beta), at a quick glance, I like how it displays the various data points without having to run reports. Once the banking statements are ingested, it will be a focal point for me each time I log in. The dashboard flows well and is a quick read.

When I encountered a few 'operating' issues along the way, I emailed Joel and the team about them. The issues were addressed/acknowledged within 8 hours and resolved within less than 48 hours. This is an amazing technical support response. Also, as of today, they have released "Request Support" directly in the mobile app. Now I can track my tickets within the App. This is huge!

All I can say, SparkReceipt Dev and Product team .... Well done, and please keep improving and developing.

I love this tool

I love this tool. It's been such a massive help for my small business. I'm a solopreneur and I was wasting so much time every month checking my accounting. Now I can see at a glance how much I've already spent and earned this month before I've done my final profit & loss. You can forward receipts and invoices directly to spark and it transcribes them. You can also download a list of all transactions for the month, along with the receipts themselves, into one zip file. It's incredibly helpful.

Spark email system is great! They have added a lot of options in the past several months. I especially like the AI feature. It makes me sound like I know what I'm doing. Support is better than suberb. I always get a response within 24 hours after I submit my issue.

Not suitable for historical data

Very slow- not a good choice for dealing with as lot of documents (i.e. a business). 200 credits per month is not even enough to upload all my invoices and it skipped transactions and couldn't read my 1099 amounts. Probably fine for rolling ongoing account management. NOT suitable for historical data.

I used to use expensify but got…

I used to use expensify but got frustrated with lack of automation for recurrent expenses, lack of AI capabilities, bulk management of receipts. I started searching for other reasonably priced options and Sparkrecipt was perfect! After trying for a few weeks, I decided to purchase their subscription

Da igual si tu empresa es pequeña o grande esta herramienta se convierte en indispensable para el día a día con tus facturas. La cantidad de tiempo y comodidad que te crea no tiene precio.

Además están en constantes mejoras de la herramienta.

Highly recommended

I’ve been really impressed with SparkReceipt. It has completely changed how I manage receipts and small business expenses.

Instead of keeping piles of paper receipts or trying to remember where everything is, I can simply take a photo and the app automatically extracts the key details like the merchant, amount, and date. The AI then categorises the expense for me, which saves a huge amount of time compared to manual spreadsheets.

What I particularly like is that everything is stored in one place and can easily be exported or shared with an accountant when needed. This makes preparing records for bookkeeping or tax much simpler.

The interface is straightforward, the scanning is fast, and it works well for both physical receipts and digital invoices.

IOS app works really well

Highly recommended.

I hate accounting

I hate accounting; I hate it so much. I hate everything to do with accounting.

I don't hate Sparkreceipt. It actually makes my life easier in a meaningful way, and makes it easy for even a luddite like me to track my expenses.

Seriously, it's good.

I use Spark Receipt for 2 businesses…

I use Spark Receipt for 2 businesses and so far it has been pretty good. They are also making upgrades to enhance user experience. I get to share it with my accountant (she has her own access to get the info needed for tax purposes) and I like this feature.
