I have received a 'concerns notice' from a solicitor regarding defamation of this company, asking to cease/desist my review about this company on productreview.com.au website. While I have a reasonable defence, as what I said in the original review was true, I had no choice but to (not without the feeling of frustration and injustice) amend the review (A.K.A chilling effects on free speech). This is to avoid high defence cost which I can't afford and because, as a laymen, I am uncertain if I can defend myself successfully should it proceed to the court.
[start the original review] [modified my opinion in more neutral tone] I don’t recommend this company. Their product is over-priced and [deleted]. They charge $4,900 what they call 'engineering certificate and detailed design'! Generally, shed companies offer these information (engineering certificate and other information necessary for a council permit) for free if you purchase their product. Their product brochure has sections for exterior/interior options and two items that are called 'upgrades'. However, other options that are not under upgrades also cost extra. This is misleading. I chose one of these options and specified that I want them if there is no additional cost. However, I received an invoice with it as an additional cost and without realising it I signed the invoice and sent it off (which turned out to be a big mistake!). Less than two days after I signed the invoice, I sent them a cancellation email and requested refund of the deposit. A reasonable person would expect the invoice was to be right (sent without an extra charge) since the matter had already been discussed or at least it could be recalled later if it wasn't. An honest business would accept the cancellation and refund the deposit. So far, they are refusing to refund my money and not allowing the cancellation (which is unlawful according to the Australian Consumer Law Act 2010). I was stunned, to say the least, to receive an email from this company, on 12 March 2024, saying that my order (which I asked them to cancel multiple times since 23 February 2024) would be ready for dispatch next week. They then sent me an additional invoice with $19,715 today (15 March 2024). I am lost for words. Is this normal? I can't warn people enough about this company. Please stay away.

Have already written a review on product review. These guys are shockers to deal with. All paid up front and 0 care after that. Took 6 months to build a 12m2 pod, just could not get the materials in the right quantity delivered. They will not return a phone call or an email enquiry. Took two men 5 days to actually build but the project took 6 months to complete!!! That's as much as anyone needs to know about this business. Builders were great. Lots of extras to buy like fixings and other finishes to complete the wildly over charged internal package. I would say I have very little (nothing) positive to say about this organisation and am happy I never have to deal with them again!

absolutely the worst company I bought a custom pod for $11000 and did not get what I paid for, first thing was no instruction, then no hinges for the door, color bond cladding was not cut to size and 4 prices short!! after many phone calls got hinges sent from bunnings aprrantly from the "wharehouse". install day wow I had to cut colorbond and when installing the door can't do it with the hinges sent, now on hi pages try to get someone to help.... next email is to consumer affairs.

* Appalling organisation to deal with.
* Poor documentation - no instructions, no details, other than the steel frame.
* Be warned - the kit is the structure only. No flashing for the base frame to maintain waterproofing integrity; no flashing for the transition or setdown from internal floor to external deck. No batts or insulation - only the vapour seal wrap. (If they supply you with the right quantity - my job was two rolls short!) These are all extras you'll need to source and buy separately.
* They clearly rely on the vapour seal wrap (sarking) to act as the waterproofing - no flashings or DPCs are included. A vapour seal wrap is NOT a waterproof membrane. This is dodgy building practice.
* I note another reviewer/customer here complained about not getting a sufficient quantity of fixings. We did not receive ANY fixings and have paid an extra $600 (approx) at Bunnings for the required items.
* If you choose the "Internal package", their website says it includes "high-quality Australian insulation for superior thermal performance in harsh weather conditions". This is a lie. They did not supply or include any thermal insulation.
* They don't answer the phone, and they don't return your call when you leave a message.
* They don't respond to your emails.
* They promised that items would be delivered on a certain day - and then nothing turns up on that day.
* The delivery of the materials was out of order, with items arriving in the wrong sequence.
* The delivered items came with the wrong quantities of materials. Not enough sheets to clad the walls; not enough sarking to wrap the building, not enough flooring to line the floors. Wall cladding items were supplied for the wrong heights and dimensions. My builder had to walk off the job for three weeks while we waited for the missing and/or under-supplied cladding to be re-sent.
* They promised everything would be delivered within a fortnight so that the builder could do the job. Two months later and still waiting for items to be delivered and for missing items to turn up.
* No one takes responsibility or tells you what is going on. Had to chase and chase and chase to find out what was going wrong with the project; why things were late; and when things would be delivered.
* When I finally got through to someone and complained about the materials not turning up on time, and that the deliveries were missing half the quantities, I was told that was MY fault because I'd been hassling them.
* The price you pay is supposed to cover all materials and all deliveries. When items did not arrive on the days they were supposed to, or they were short in quantity, they told us to collect some of the items from Bunnings. They have not offered to reimburse for purchasing these materials or for having to pay my builder to collect them.
* Despite me bringing all these items to their attention and emailing them / leaving messages on their phone, they have not once contacted me to apologise; to acknowledge mistakes were made; or to offer any form of reimbursement for extra expenses; or compensation for the many weeks of delays we suffered.

The space haven team did an incredible job with my custom design that looks amazing and complements my backyard. My teenagers absolutely love it – big thanks!
