Southwire stands by their Yellowjacket extension cords
I have bought at least four Yellowjacket extension cords because they are of much greater quality than comparable products.
Recently, I found that the plastic sleeve of one extension cord had retracted from the cord head leaving interior plastic-wrapped wires exposed. This didn't seem safe, so I sent a photo of the damaged extension cord to southwire. They are sending me a replacement extension cord!
Curious as to how this damage happened, I consulted an AI bot and it informed me that the most likely reason for the damage was from pulling on the cord itself to detach the cord from an AC outlet or even another extension cord. This, I confess, is something I have done in the *past*. I won't do it anymore. Most likely, this is the reason for the damage.
Southwire produces a top notch product and stands by their product. I am writing this review because it is easy to write a negative review for a bad product and so easy NOT to write a positive review for a good company with a good product. Southwire provides a good product and stands by it.
Hopefully, with proper care, and no more damage from a hedge trimmer, I won't need any more Yellowjacket extension cords. I also will never pull on the cord itself again! But if I do need another extension cord, I will be definitely be buying Yellowjacket again.
