Tried to buy some books for 2018 Christmas presents, they told me that the order had failed - possibly due to fraud detection on my card or insufficient funds (not the problem. Then 6 weeks later, £24, £24, £25, £25, £30 and so on - 11 more before I noticed during a Game of Thrones catch-up session. Luckily Lloyds bank refunded all after I allowed them to submit a police report!

Avoid like the plague! This is a scam company, luckily the payment I agreed to never left the account and I canaclled my debit card soon after. No contact details are available and you can't pay via PayPal etc. Don't think they have any intention of sending any goods

I have not received my order and no response when trying to chase my order. I too have had my bank details used fraudulently a few weeks ago. Now I discover this website and realise this is what this company does.

DO NOT USE - THEY STEAL YOUR BANK DETAILS AND YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR ORDER!

I tried to buy books before Christmas... my card was used to make payments to Google playstore and deliveroo.co.uk. but there were also transactions for large amounts for Gamestore. More money than I had in my bank luckily. Please don't use them. It's fake.

Card got copied and used for fraud. About 6 weeks ago I tried to but a book, registered, made the purchase, got the usual conformation emails but no book and my card was used to but some jeweller, luckily the bank spotted it. Please avoid

Same as all the others on this site I used two cards to buy books and both were cloned and used for for fraud and of course no books turned up. Please shut this web site down now!

Used the service, amount doesn’t seem to have been taken out of my account but had fraudulent transactions of around £2000 which my bank fortunately picked up. The company is registered as a legit limited company and registered to Mr Graham Harris who is 54 years old with an address in Hull. How Companies House have not reported him, I do not know. Maybe he is a victim of identity theft but either way, do not buy from this store. It’s a fraudulent website.

Similar to other reviews, I ordered a book on Jan 8th, received an email confirmation but the book never came. The amount was not taken out of my account and my card was not used for fraudulent payments but I decided to cancel my card as a precautionary measure.

Hey! What code/name do they use that will appear on transaction? I used this website and wish to keep an eye out; many thanks.

3 weeks later my book has not arrived with no update. I wish I had read these reviews before hand as I, also recently had my bank card cloned. An attempt to purchase online goods was made before my bank noticed and blocked my card. Do not use!

As per all other reviews please don't use. Order never came as soon as I read the reviews I notified my bank/blocked card. They also suprise suprise never replied to my messages. How they are still trading I do not know. It's been about an month now and so far no attempts have been made.
I did get a message a few weeks later saying my order had been cancelled or words to that effect which seems to be a recurring theme.

My card was cloned from this site. No books received do not use!!
Had to re order my cards! Was being used everywhere!!

I am hoping this bogus book shop has finally been closed as they take card details and sell on to use fraudulently. Luckily I rang my bank who cancelled my card. If you have inadvertently placed an order I urge you to stop your card.

Tried to purchase a book at Christmas but like many others, I received an email notifying me that they cancelled the order. I never thought anything of it until I got a call from HSBC Fraud Team telling me that someone had tried to use my card to purchase clothes on Misguided this week!!! They had to cancel my card and account to stop the payments going through. Avoid this site at all costs!

DO NOT USE....have received nothing from this company after ordering 2 weeks ago. Will be cancelling my card tomorrow and reporting this site to fraud

I have been taken in by this firm too . I have not received my book and have had money taken out of my account. Fortunately my bank noticed and informed me and cancelled my card.
Now I have read these reviews I will inform my bank of this company and they can start to investigate it!!!!

Like many others I didn't bother to look at reviews of the site before I bought a book from them. Luckily I did check soon after I placed the order and decided to cancel my card straight away to be safe. Turns out it was the right thing to do since I haven't received my order that was placed weeks ago and I did not receive any replies to emails. I did however receive an order confirmation, but I suspect this to be a detail they have added to make it seem legit.

***scam scam scam** - WHY has this website not been shut down yet?? Ordered book for xmas - same problems as others (showed as a declined card so I used a 2nd / incorrect password so I used another etc.) - no sign of the book and low and behind they have just used my card (although 6 weeks later! for £260 and then £370!!!)

As with other customers, I haven't received the book that I ordered, no money has gone out of my account, but after reading the other reviews I have now cancelled my bank card. Alos, it seems to be impossible to get in touch with them - they don't answer emails and there is no telephone number. What a sham. Smyths Books will be reported to trading standards.
