1 Star — Terrible Customer Service Over a $3 Replacement Part

I ordered a $3 replacement metal filter directly from Smokpub and paid $11 in shipping, for a total of $14. The part never arrived.

After several back-and-forth emails with Smokpub, their response has essentially been that the tracking says it was delivered, so I need to deal with the shipping carrier myself.

That’s extremely disappointing customer service. I purchased the product from Smokpub, paid Smokpub for the part and shipping, and never received what I paid for. Instead of helping resolve the issue, sending another $3 filter, or refunding the order, they’ve chosen to dispute my claim that I didn’t receive it and push the problem onto the carrier.

They also explained that replacement parts are shipped directly from their manufacturing location in China—something I certainly didn’t expect when paying $11 to ship a $3 metal filter.

I liked the drink smoker itself, but this experience has completely changed my opinion of the company. A business willing to lose a customer over a $3 replacement part that the customer says never arrived is not a company I can recommend.

Buyer beware: if your package is marked delivered but you don’t actually receive it, don’t expect Smokpub to make it right.

Non existent customer service. 1) agree with others. Utterly cheated by the ate addition of shipping costs. 2) paid fully for 2 but only 1 ever got shipped. They replied first time 13 Jan to say they need to verify with shipping courier. Until today (more than 2 months), no further reply despite me chasing 3x! Avoid avoid avoid

I backed Smokpub’s product on Kickstarter and was forced to pay an expensive shipping fee before anything was sent, a fee that was never disclosed up front and felt like an immediate scam. They promised delivery before Christmas and missed that deadline. I ordered the 2‑pack but eventually received only one unit. It arrived defective and damaged, with wood chips and splits all over it. Since then Smokpub has gone silent on email. I’ve received no replies and I am still missing most of my order. Do not trust this company. I would give zero stars if I could. A bunch of scammers.

Backed this project on kickstarter and ordered two of their smokers. They changed the terms of their incentive and decided to charge shipping (only after receiving payment from backers - they didn’t respond to emails, leaving little option for backers to pay their additional charges or be out of pocket). Even though I paid shipping, I only received one of my orders. The order I did receive had missing parts. I’ve sent multiple emails and messages on their website. I have received only one response so far saying they believed they sent both orders. They did not tell me how they would rectify my missing order or the missing parts of the order I did receive. I would avoid buying products from this company.

Finally received something. Unfortunately not what was promised (glass dome) but instead a dome made in plastic, which I'm sure will take color from the smoke soon enough. But remains to be seen I guess.

Still haven't received glass dome or any further communication from the company.

Backed the Smokpub pro from Kickstarter. Cancelled when they suddenly changed from free shipping to highly expensive shipping with the excuse that they would ship by air to make it in time for Christmas. Didn't receive until the 4th. of January.

Declining my requests to refund me for the shipping. Ignoring me now and won't tell me when the rest of my order (glass dome for food smoking) will arrive.

Smoker itself is fine for now, but CANNOT recommend due to atrocious customer service and scamming in regards to the rest of my order.

Suddenly started charging extra for shipping and now have gone completely radio silent. Don't fall for this scam.

Company is a scam. Backed a project on kickstarter with „free shipping“. Now they want additional $ 140 for shipping.
Trying to get my money back via charg-back. Support is not existing.

Was a backer for this on kickstarter. They took my $100+ for two and never shipped them.

I finally received mine! Absolutely love this idea! After receiving it, I tried drinking two glasses of whiskey with it, and I have to say—it’s just as amazing! I was genuinely surprised by how cool it is.

Ordered back in September, I received a tracking number that has not been updated to date. Customer support is non-existent. Save yourself a lot of headaches and order from someplace else.

Purchased in October. Still have yet to even receive a tracking number. Numerous emails and Google documents have been sent and filled out and nothing has happened. They are a scam and I have a hard time believing that anyone actually even got theirs. I’m glad I was able to get my money back. Do not buy from them

Nothing more than a scam that netted this company a lot of $$. It is criminal and should be investigated!!

I, like MANY others have never received any items we paid for!!!

Paid and never received anything. Gave me a tracking number and never dropped it off. Zero response via email or social media. Complete scam.

Ordered in September, still nothing more than Shipping label created. Search Facebook for "smokepub scam"

Would give zero if I could. Ordered, in the Fall so ‘guaranteed before Xmas’. Nope. CanPost strike affected it I get it. But they were back by Xmas. Emails take forever to respond to if they ever are. And when they’re delivered, the response is ‘oh it’s coming next week’. I’ve been hearing that since the CanPost strike ended LAST YEAR. I was very clear on my last email asking for a REDUND or to RESHIP. Their response: request not even acknowledged with an ‘oh it’s coming next week’. It’s funny they ask ‘date of experience’ here in the review. Well we’re heading into the FOURTH MONTH of this nonsense. TOTAL SCAM

I never received my order. They never respond to emails. If you leave a negative review on their site, they take it down immediately. I hyped up some fellow mixologists that also purchased a Smokpub and none of them have received it. I feel scammed. I’m now dealing with my credit card company to get my money back.

I recommend avoiding this product.

I backed the Kickstarter and like all the other complaints it took until after the new year to get it. When it arrived it was from Amazon. Also, I did not get the extra wood chips that I paid an additional $30 for and they will not respond to emails.

Through Amazon, the products arrive. Through Kickstarter, they do not. They claim customs issues, though that is clearly not accurate. They claim refunding or it will arrive. Neither have occurred. I recently received a note asking for my to complete a survey so they could send me the Smokpub - I've already filled it out twice. They email as was a no reply format without the survey. Kickstarter should be more careful.

I supported on Kickstarter in Sept 2024 to which they seem to have received over 1 million dollars. Sounds super cool and a neat product. They had communications here and there that everything was on the go for Christmas etc, then nothing, then more nothing. Then as email this week saying Oops sorry if you haven't gotten yours fill out this google sheet OR if you have and it doesn't work fill out this google sheet (which does not bode well for the quality of product)

Their instagram has barely any followers or posts, they do not have a website and they are still selling on amazon after not delivering the Kickstarter ones. Unacceptable. Maybe they weren't ready for the success of the kickstarter but it seems scammy to me.
