The owner Ramon has moved to the US and they have ceased operations in the UK but are still happy to take people’s money. Been waiting 2 months now for a repair for broken sofa which is only 9 months old. Now will take them to a small claims court.

I want to warn anyone thinking of placing an order with SM London not to.

I am an interior designer and have ordered from SM London for many of my projects over the years with no issues. However something has gone very very wrong with this company recently.

I placed an order for a custom console table in April. They are very communicative whilst preparing the quote and sending the invoice.
I paid the invoice and then it went silent. They needed to send me a technical drawing so that I could sign it off and proceed with production.

7 weeks after paying the deposit (of just under £1000) I had still not received the drawing (I was told they were having server issues in the factory since I place the order which was delaying things) so asked to cancel the order. Suddenly that same day a very simple “technical” drawing was sent!

They assured me the console will be made and delivered in 6 weeks so I signed the drawing off and approved the go ahead for production.

9 weeks after instruction to proceed and 15 weeks since I paid the deposit I still don’t have the console and they can’t tell me when I will have it.

I have been given endless false promises over the past month and been told that they are having delays getting answers from the factory in Portugal.

No one answers the landline and the mobile phones of contacts I have are switched off.
Email responses are now pretty much non existent. Ramon the CEO doesn’t reply to emails or messages and is the only one who apparently can approve and process a refund.

To date they have not refunded my deposit. I also sent them handles to use on the console drawers which I have asked to be returned.

As advised by Citizens Advice I have sent SM London a “Letter to cancel a contract breached” with 7 days to reply and resolve. They have also passed my case on to Trading Standards to look in to.

This is a very sad situation but I want to warn others not to place any orders as it doesn’t appear they are able to fulfil them.

This is a review I did not want to write but I feel I should to warn others and especially Interior Designers.

I am an Interior Designer and I placed an order with SM LONDON for furniture back in January 2025, I paid 50% for the manufacture of the goods and 100% for all the fabrics which were sent to their factory. This amounted to approx £10,000 in total.

The owner personally visited my office in Notting Hill with one of his Team, he showed us finish samples and convinced us to place the order, he mentioned, they have trucks going back and forth to Portugal once a week. I checked out his website and instagram, and he came with a recommendation and was very convincing and everything looked good. He even sent in someone to do a measure and promised a delivery in six weeks (end of March)

It’s now end of July, and my goods still have not arrived. I was told the goods are still in production and sometimes there are delays. I requested a refund, then he stopped taking my calls. Following on we made contact one of his team, who tried to help, but instead we’ve had various excuses.

No refunds materialised until I threatened posting an honest review, at which point the Company Director sent me £3000. That was two weeks ago. There is balance of £3000 plus a £4000 owing for the fabrics which still have not been returned.

I have a duty to my clients, and have had to payout of my own pocket to have these good manufactured elsewhere.

If anyone has had a similiar issue can you please make contact. I am planning to report my experience to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards. His previous business of the same nature has gone into liquidation.

Finally, I am saddened to see the Company still posting daily on Social Media to try to win new orders. Having read reviews posted by other people, clearly, something is very wrong here.

I hope he will be honourable and return outstanding monies.

I previously worked as a freelance professional for SM London, where I successfully completed and delivered the entire project as agreed. However, the company has failed to make the payment for the work provided. Despite sending multiple emails and messages requesting payment, I have received no response, and my communications have been ignored.

Based on my experience, I strongly advise caution when dealing with this company.

DO NOT ORDER SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

At the beginning they seem great and very professional i spent lots of money on a bespoke headboard to be made to keep being told it was still being produced and had been delayed etc. They kept telling me all excuses to keep my off their back. Its all made in some cheap factory abroad. All of the workers leave that emailed me from the customer service team and apparently even the staff in the factory meant to be making the products leave so no one was even in the factory! It all caused me so much stress they dont even pick up the phone, I'm warning all others to avoid at all costs - dont say i didn't warn you! SCAMMERS!! No headboard 8 months later
