There was a big sale on mattresses for Memorial Day weekend so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to invest in a new mattress. I went to Sears then Macys, but somehow ended up at Mattress Warehouse. The salesman who helped me (I forgot his name) was so nice! He was very knowledged on mattresses compared to the salesmen at the other retailers. He listened to my needs and found the best bed in my price range and comfort level! Sure I spent a little more than I intended but I am very sure that it will help me in the long run.

After Reading Negative Online Reviews...
...I was not sure this was the vendor for me. But it seemed the bad reviews were mostly in other states (NJ, PA, etc). My experience with this company was in North Carolina and I was very pleased with my salesperson and delivery. Not sure what's going wrong in other areas, but not to worry here in NC!

An education and a delight.
My wife and I spent a weekend at a hotel in Ocean City, MD. This hotel boasted that all of their rooms were furnished with Temperpedic beds. We were surprised that we had two great nights of sleep, awaking without the back and joint discomfort that had become our norm. On our way home, we stopped at a few retailers looking for this incredible mattress, but to no avail.
As we are both teachers, we started our research upon arriving home. The following weekend, we headed to Mattress Warehouse in Bear, DE, which is an Elite retailer for Temperpedic. We were greeted by Roger, a knowledgable and patient sales consultant, who took the time to listen to our needs, asked about our occupational and lifestyle schedules, and invited us to journey with him as we discovered the best bed for our bodies.
Roger ushered us to their sleep match system, which took pressure point measurements of our reclined bodies, both on our backs and in our preferred sleep position. This diagnostic dream machine matched us with three beds designed to give us maximum support and comfort, so that we can get truly repairative sleep.
Roger's patience, professionalism, and knowledge was instrumental in our decision to become Temperpedic owners. Even amidst the unprofesisonalism and blatant disrespect of another salesman, Roger remained a gentleman and a pro.
We highly recommend Mattress Warehouse, we highly recommend Roger, and we encourage everyone to invest in their sleep. Don't settle for a mattress because it's a bargain. Find the sleep system that gives your body the rest it needs to be healthy, energetic, and successful.

Bulls in china shop upon delivery with damaged goods
The delivery service was appauling. Damage to boxsprings and we have to wait for another delivery. I will not allow the same delivery people back in my home.

Purchase and delivery of 2 King box springs.
NO complaint! Went to store twice -- once to look and once to buy. Salesman (Carlos) was friendly and knowledgeable. Bought 2 S & Foster box springs. Delivered on time and items placed exactly where I wanted them in the house. No complaint with service -- everybody was friendly and cooperative. Am trusting that the box springs will hold up over time. Basically an excellent transaction all around. Would do business with Mattress Discounters again!

Pat took excellent care of us (and laughed at my sons' antics) while we purchased two new beds for them. The delivery was quick and painless and occurred within the time frame the delivery people promised. And both boys say the beds are terrific.

Was told by salesman my existing bed would be taken away including the frame, mattress and bed spring.I paid extra for this. When delivery came was told they could only take box spring and mattress and not frame. Was never told by salesman of this.

Multiple Mistakes from multiple sales people and customer service
I never write a review on a company but I have to say this was such a poor experience that the parent company needs to know about this. I did purchase a i-series Serta plush mattress in N. Arlington Virginia in April 2015 at the store on Wilson Blvd. I felt pressured to purchase this mattress, both me and my husband left the store feeling like it was a uncomfortable purchasing experience but we needed a mattress so we just let it go at the time. The sales person was pushy and rushed us and pressured us to make a decision. Of course, the mattress ended up being defective... it was sagging within 6-9months after purchase. In Feb 2016, we tried to contact customer service to get an assessment/claim on the warrantee. I left 4 messages for customer service (Baltimore location) and no one ever got back to me. I filled out the claim online and nobody called me for 3 weeks. I had to call Serta directly from them file the warrantee claim thru them on my behalf before Mattress Warehouse sent someone to my house to assess the mattress. The inspector looked at the mattress and immediately said that it was defective; there were ripples in the mattress, the side curved there was obvious sagging. Three weeks later I received a letter in the mail that my warrantee claim was approved but after closely reviewing the letter it was for the wrong amount for the warrantee. They weren't giving me the full amount I paid for the mattress ($100 less). This was corrected after I called customer service, however it took me a good three tries to get someone on the phone again! So then I headed back to Mattress Warehouse to pick out a new mattress but because of my bad experience with the first store, I decided to try a different location. The next location I tried was Crystal City. The salesman was nice but he was restocking the store and said that I was better off going to a different location to try other mattresses. Fine. I then went to the Baileys Crossroad location with my husband and we narrowed it down to two mattresses the ISeries - Applause II - Firm or the Sterns and Foster one. We decided that we would return the next day with a final decision. After discussing at home, we decided to go with the Sterns and Foster mattress because of our poor experience with the iseries serta the first time. I returned by myself the next day to the BC location to submit the warrantee claim, however, the salesman gave me a very chauvinistic attitude that was uncalled for- suggesting that I needed my husband there to make the final decision. I also tried to negotiate with the salesman and he seemed to only want to talk to my husband. I am the negotiator in the family and if any deal was to be made, it was with me. I left the store without making the new purchase because I was not comfortable with the attitude I was getting. I tried to call customer service to report this incident and asked if I could make the deal over the phone instead. They said that they would send me to the "best store" in the area and they would take good care of me in person. The customer service representative sent me to a 4th location in Courthouse, Arlington Virginia. This location did not have the sterns and foster mattress we wanted. Frustrated, I asked the salesman to let me know which store had this mattress so that I could submit my warrantee claim. At this point it is April 29th 2016 (the warrantee letter was dated April 1) and I only had 30 days to make the claim, so I needed to make this purchase that day. After a phone call, the salesman sent me back to the original store on Wilson Blvd where he said they had the mattress and could take of my claim that day. So reluctantly and frustrated I went back to the original Mattress Warehouse where we did not have the best experience. Of course, when I got there I found out that this location also did not have the sterns and foster bed that I was looking for. Unbelievable! So frustrated and tired at this point (I have been to 5 stores in 2 wks without multiple unsatisfactory experiences at each site). I decided to just purchase the iSeries - Applause II Firm which was available at that site. It wasn't the mattress we wanted but I couldn't handle going to another place and dealing with another one of these salesmen. I scheduled the delivery for the morning of May 18th. I changed my schedule to work from home to receive the delivery, however, I NEVER received a call from the delivery truck confirming the time of delivery. At 10am I called the Mattress Warehouse store to inquire and they let me know that the truck had broken down and were unsure when the delivery was going to occur. I finally received the mattress yesterday May 24th. And it is so uncomfortable. It is way to firm. It isn't what I wanted. But I don't know if I can go through this whole process again. Every step of the mattress buying process was difficult and overwhelmed by mistakes and poor customer service. And the worst part about it is that I feel like I am stuck with an incredibly uncomfortable mattress. Sorry Mattress Warehouse, you need to reevaluate your customer experience. I hope others don't have to go through what I went thru.

Was given a great deal for a mattress, and free next-day shipping on top of that. Full size mattress came out to $380 total including tax. A great experience, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the delivery was easy.

Do not shop here!! Horrible experience. Lousy customer service.
The store ordered and delivered the wrong mattress and even admitted doing so. However, even though I called the day it was delivered to tell them it was the wrong one I was forced to wait thirty days for an exchange and they tried to charge me $199 exchange fee. They delivered a super firm one but I ordered a plush memory foam. The thirty days was agony. Part of my spine is fused together and I told them at the time of purchase that I needed a super soft memory foam. I did not sleep well the entire thirty days and was in a lot of pain. Since it was the only bed I own I had to suffer through it. When the thirty days was up I got the run around from the store. I finally had to call the 800 number multiple times to get the exchange delivered even though the store salesman, (his name is Paris at the store located at 2044 Wilson Blvd in Arlington, VA), admitted to someone at the 800 number that it was his mistake. I was really concerned that I would never get my exchange. I would never recommend anyone shop at Mattress Warehouse because of my experience.

Avoid this cpompany at all costs!
The list of disrespect to the consumer and incompetence of the sales people and the customer service people is unbelievable. Twice they did not schedule my delivery, Finally delivered defective product and I am being bounced to everyone in customer service. I am a nurse, I am on my feet all day and have a bad back. Now I am sleeping on my sofa for 2 weeks and still no new mattress in site. 3 different people said they would call me back and never did. Once I was finally transferred to a district manager and the message said the extension is not available. Save yourself the headache and find a real company that appreciates its customers.

Very Dishonest Company
We were told by our Chiro Pract, that we needed a firm mattress for our bed. We went to Mattress Warehouse in 2011 and purchased Top of the Line Firm Mattress by Serta Posture Pedi Mattress. With a 15 year Warranty on it. After a year we started having terrible muscle spasms and the mattress started to sag in different places. Well, we got in touch with Mattress Warehouse and they sent an examiner out to exam the mattress, he said it was a default mattress and they would replace it. They did replace the mattress and box spring which was not the same one we had paid for in the beginning, also the box spring was not the same as the mattress and a different size. (Altho their policy is that your box spring should be the box spring that matches the mattress. Well, since they gave it to us, we did not make any noise. Well, a few months later after buying a better frame for our bed because maybe this was the reason this mattress was sagging also, they sent another examiner out to examine the mattress, and he said, this mattress is sagging because your bed frame is not the correct one for your mattress, so because of hard times and us being seniors on a fixed income, we could not afford to buy another frame at that time. So they told us until we get a different frame for the mattress we couldn't get another mattress (this one with the wrong box spring had a 10 year warranty on it. Well, we were blessed to be able to purchase the kind of frame they tried to sell us and said we needed, so I called and they told me to go to the store where I purchased the 1st mattress set and choose another one, so we did, and of course this was the 2nd time, and they took $500.00 off of what we paid for the 1st mattress and told us we had to purchase a set that was under what we paid for our 1st set. These People also charge you $100.00 for delivery from Maryland when it's their fault that they sold you merchandise that is no good, People just like another party said, shop around, ask questions, and remember Mattress Warehouse is not what they say they are. I will be taking they to Consumers, and Better Business Bureau, and Channel 4 and Seven on your side. I hate to see people used, and taken advantage of and their is nothing you can do. I know there is someone that can speak for us, and make Mattress Warehouse become a business that will not take people's money and give them merchandise that is not 100% when you purchase it brand new. They are a very, very dishonest Company. Will never buy from them ever again and will tell my story to everyone that is looking for a mattress.

Be Very Careful, Ask a Lot of Questions
We bought a mattress from the Cary location - a Serta Black Beauty Rest - Top of the line. The sales woman (Vadelle?) walked us through several different styles, their warranties, return policies, etc. 10 year warranty, 30 day return, that kind of thing.
We chose a mattress, and after a week realized we'd gotten too firm of a mattress. We called the salesperson and asked what we can do - "Don't worry - it will break in - just give it a month." Called back a month later and Mike told us "Oh, that mattress isn't included in the warranty, I don't know why you were told that. You can buy another mattress if you'd like."
We fell on hard times, and still have the mattress and a foam layer we bought extra for it... along with back, hip, neck, and shoulder problems. I'd file a legal complaint if I thought it would do any good. I sleep a lot on the couch, until we get another mattress.
Be very careful. They aren't selling sleep, comfort, or education. They are taking money for mattresses and commissions.
