Bozena East​​​​​ was our contact person in Sky-House Co, an awesome and lovely sales manager. She made our experience with Sky-House very smooth and effortlessly easy. She was ready to answer all our questions, send updates about the building progress via WhatsApp, happy to address all our concerns, and flexible to work with us as we select our choices for our dream home. Sky-House builds houses with future and community-building in mind, we are enjoying our new home and I will recommend them anytime. We are enjoying and loving our Waverley Central community.

We have a beautiful new home with character. Usually those words don't go together. We decided to downsize as 'Future Proofing'. I am reluctant to call this a bungalow because it is so different in its amazing design. We waited a while to get it but it was the only house that ticked every box for us. I had my heart set on it as it is on an old Railway Station site, my father loved and drove engines and steam engines for a living so it feels very special.
The design is unique and yes we had snags and issues as we, and the house, were settling in but I have to say that these were attended to very promptly for us and although there are a couple of things, they are not cause for concern as I know they will be done for us.
It seems much more spacious that I had anticipated and has everything in it that we could hope for.

Moving into our Sky-House at Waverley back in 2019 was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. After five wonderful years, we’ve moved on, but our Sky-House was the perfect starter home for our growing family.

The home’s thoughtful design, with its bright and airy feel, made everyday living a joy. We loved the expansive windows that flooded the rooms with natural light and the small but thoughtful details that truly set Sky-House Co. apart from typical new builds.

The company’s ethos of creating well-designed, community-focused homes really shone through. It was clear that every aspect of our home had been carefully considered, combining smart design with practical living spaces. We always felt proud to invite friends and family over, knowing our home had both style and substance.

We’re grateful to have started our home-owning journey with a company that values quality, design, and community. We’ll always look back on our Sky-House days with fondness and appreciation.

Racism is discrimination and prejudice against people based on their race or ethnicity. Recently this Company had their Christmas Party at the place I work for . I was the door supervisor looking after the venue . After escorting someone out from building for beeing too drunk and lighting a cigarette in the venue,one of the so called Boss started to swear at me beeing really abusive and aggressive towards me,provoking me to fight beeing drunk also making comments like foreign f..k off to your country and using also the N word on me. Really disgusting behaviour.ive emailed them a while back but no answer ..RACISM IS NOT ALOWED SKY HOUSE . Shame of yourself

My journey with Sky-House Co began in late February 2023. I had been looking for and making offers on homes in Sheffield S6 for almost three year, unsuccessfully. As a single first time buyer I wasn't always the desirable choice in bidding wars as I wasn't a cash buyer etc... and it's safe to say I was feeling quite sad about it. I had heard of the Waverley estate as a friend had moved into a new home there, so I went for a little visit and thought immediately how peaceful, well looked after and well located it was for me (I work in the city centre and travel frequently).

I went to look around a few show homes in situ with the larger developers and found them to be fairly standard homes, without the character I was looking for. I then saw the Sky Houses, which you can't miss, and quickly googled. The show home wasn't quite ready, but I just had a feeling and put down a deposit on plot with out seeing the interior. I think it's the best decision I ever made.

A week later I saw the show home with my parents and sister and fell totally in love. They had worried about the new build stigma of poor construction/insulation/noise, but it was clear that these homes are built differently. There were some (short and explained) delays with the move, but the promise was summer 2023 and I moved in on the 1st of August to my first home.

I had a home demo prior to completing my purchase, which was so thorough and well explained. It gave me a peak at my home to be and reassured me that any small snags were being considered and attended to in advance of me moving in. The snags really were small, and largely cosmetic- there was nothing to stop me moving in on the 1st. Everyone I spoke to in the office was kind and patient with me, particularly through a testing time trying to get a mortgage when providers were withdrawing products daily.

On the day I moved in Matt, the Waverley manager, met me at 8am to allow a furniture delivery into the house prior to legal completion- just one of many examples of going above and beyond traditional home builder roles and responsibilities. The Customer Care team and on site builders have been amazing. I see them every day working on properties around me, they are so kind and helpful, even lending me a cherry picker during my move day to get a stupidly ridiculous bookcase through the balcony door! They have been so kind to me, helpful and gone completely out of their way to ensure things beyond their remit (such as sourcing someone to put up my bathroom cabinets!) have gone smoothly for me.

The house itself is a dream. It's sturdy, fairly soundproof, warm, beautiful... finished to an exceptional standard. I have never felt so safe at home as I do on this estate. My car, home and pet insurance have reduced (because of the location), and the house is built for the future with solar panels, a heat pump, electric charging point and gas-free. The layout is unusual and the high ceilings and large windows compliment the style. There are so many stairs, but I'm getting used to them, and they're worth it to get to the roof garden (with electricity and water supply) where I've set up my hot tub and seating area pretty quickly!

I cherish using a local company, and I love that their corporate social responsibility is their entire ethos. I really hope I'll be happy in my Sky House for a very long time, to me it's my forever home and I feel so grateful

I moved up to Sheffield from Rutland to be closer to my daughter 4 years after my husband died suddenly. I moved into a sky-house terrace which was advertised as a sustainable and low running cost house finished 3 months later than originally planned. This was supposed to be my final house move into a development where the advertised ethos matched my own as far as sustainability and green credentials stood. I’ve now been in for ten months and what a total disappointment.
The Solar panels provided, promising reduced power bills, are the lowest and cheapest that the providers do. The provider told me so. They are not and can not be registered and so any unused power ( if there is any) goes straight to the grid for nothing and we can’t get paid for it. There is no storage device like a battery. And there is no sunlight on then in the afternoon due to overhanging trees. Once here I was told that they would probably generate enough to keep my background standby devices running for nothing and maybe a washing machine or dishwasher run once in the morning in the summer months! Heating is by electric radiators only that are supposedly controlled by an app which is poorly documented. Also they appear to have a life of their own sometimes, then costing an astronomical amount to run. (£87 a week for single person occupancy in a supposedly well insulated brand new terrace property). On the insulation side I’ve had to put curtains up at the front door to fix the howling gale that comes through. Also draught proofing Aaron’s front door and French windows at r the rear. I was told that this only happens when the wind is in the wrong direction so isn’t a fault.
The Kers heat pump system for “incredibly low cost” hot water I have just found out needs a temperature of 18 degrees to function correctly. I can’t afford to keep my house that warm!
Customer Service is indeed dire and after the recent appointment of a new customer service manager it’s gone even further downhill and is now appalling.
My garden had standing water for months and when it began to rain was centimetres under water. I sent videos of water rushing down the wrongly angled back pathway and stills of the lawn under water but nothing happened until my male next door neighbour complained too. They then repaired an open drainage pipe and put drains into HIS garden, not mine. After a further complaint they finally put drains in mine. No one fixed the wrongly angled path. My lawn is completely ruined by waterlogging causing me to be unable to mow it; it’s now a tufty muddy mess.
Only one of the 7 (?) Solar lights along the back pathway works, I’ve reported it, nothing has ever happened.
The car park is too small and when full up it is incredibly difficult to manoeuvre into one’s space, yet they’ve planted silver birch trees in a strip behind which could’ve been tarmacced and used as extra car parking space. The advertised well lit car park is non-existent
The drive is too steep.
The brochure stated that each house was provided with a digital aerial. The salesman told me to “Just plug in the TV in the provided sockets in the sitting room and three bedrooms” ( although the bedroom ones are located where the wardrobes go ). There is no aerial and no wiring. They say it was never promised. It’s in the brochure along with one or two other things that never appeared like a stainless steel low energy hob. What was provided was a 13a glass induction hob which doesn’t recognise pans under s a certain size, and where you can only have one ring on at full power and one at a level of 3 ( out of 9). I’ve added a single induction ring in order to be able to cook a full meal.
My loos block up and a nasty brown sludge remains for a few days after I’ve unblocked it. This sludge was present when I moved in. I’ve been told to clean my toilet with bleach and drain cleaner.

My upper floor light circuits blew a fuse after Xmas and although a sparks has been he needs a mate in order to fix. They are scheduled for 20 February and I’m using a spur from the light switch in the airing cupboard to a trailing 4 gang socket on my landing to power the upstairs lights.
Other residents have had leaking roofs and a multitude of other problems.
These are the major issues; I could go on but why bore you any longer, I think this gives you the flavour of this award winning (how?) building company
