This is my second review that I'm writing on here. See my previous one for background, but long story short I was sent skates with a missing insole where they told me to buy my own insole or take one out of my trainers. Why should I? They claim that this isn't something they check for when delivering. Isn't quality of the product something you should double check before sending it to a customer? I sent them back but had to pay the return myself, which was not stated anywhere on Skate Britain's website. It took around a month to get a clear answer about if I could have my money back, and finally they said if I remove my bad review on Trustpilot, they would refund as a gesture of goodwill. I did get the weight wrong on the returns website, using the original packaging I received as guidance, and had to pay extra, which I understand Skate Britain can't refund. However, the original fee should have been refunded. I'd rather leave my review up than take bribery. Here's the email:

Hi Lottie. Sorry we missed your email. Sorry these skates were missing an insole. This is not something we check for before sending out orders- we presume they are there. We are not the manufacturer of these skates, we are a retailer who stocks the product. I definitely understand your frustration in us not getting this sorted quickly enough for you. We did email the brand reps about it but they did not get back to us because they are so busy. I think someone suggested you use your trainer insoles to get you skating.
I hope you can understand our position here and ask that you reconsider your review with the circumstances above.
We do not usually pay charges for incorrect weight entered on the Parcel2go site as they are fees for admin etc. In this case, if you would consider removing your review, we could do this as a good will gesture

The team at skate britain are beyond helpful. Went above and beyond what I had asked to provide me with what I needed. Products were shipped extremely fast, the emails they sent to each customer displays gratitude beyond which I have seen from any other company, and they care about their customers. For these reasons I always keep them in mind for the first place to look when I need skate parts etc.

The team at SkateBritain are amazing. I discovered them during the pandemic and cannot praise them enough for their amazing communication and overall service despite this being one of the most difficult times in retail history. Their dispatch time on products is unreal and they genuinely do everything they can to make sure you’re looked after and have what you want. Safe to say I am a customer for life and wish more businesses treated their customers with the same care and attention. Thank you 😊

I was shocked at how dissatisfying my experience with Skate Britain was. I purchased extremely expensive skates and received a pair of skates in used condition that arrived in the wrong box. Though both the box and the skates were damaged (scratches, scuffs, and even missing parts), they insisted that the skates were new. This was obviously untrue. I've purchased skates from other online sellers and have always received good service and products; Skate Britain, on the other hand, was inadequate and insulting. Far from recommending this seller, I would caution anyone considering doing online business with them.

I ordered some rollerskates because I wanted to get back into it since skating as a child. First, the sizing is messed up. I'm a size UK4 and my skates came as a US4/EU37/UK3 - a quick Google will show how these measurements are wrong. I was insured I could return them if they didn't fit, and even though they did, I am still returning them. My skates came with the foam showing around the tongue and an insole missing, to which I was told to just buy a new insole for it. When I requested to return them, I was given a link to get 20% off the postage, so I have to pay for their own mistake. It might have just been the brand of skate, Playlife, which I'd never heard of but bought based on their look and specs on the website, but they just weren't made very well at all. I wouldn't buy from this shop ever again.
