Spent a lovely celebratory weekend with our family, 10 of us in total with age range from 80 to 13, at Forest Grove Cottage. The cottage is spacious, homely, well equipped and tranquilly set. The hot tub and games room were a big hit, as was the decked outside space.

A wonderful family break at Blackdown Views, Devon.

We have stayed for four fabulous nights at this wonderful house. Blessed with perfect weather and some excellent fishing. As well as catching lots of carp in Marlpit Lake we were also able to fish in both Home and Ram lakes at the nearby South Farm fishery. Here, we all caught well with carp up to 12lbs and bream up to 5lbs. We ate locally at the Merry Harriers at Westcott, The Sidmouth Arms at Upottery and the Drewe Arms Inn at Broadhembury. All were excellent with the Drewe Inn probably just the best but also the most expensive. Despite it being very cold at night the eco friendly house was always warm and the wood burner very efficient. Justin at South Farm was very helpful on fishing techniques and always happy to give advice and guidance. We will definitely be back.

We had a great stay at The Quays. We are a large group of 6 families and the accommodation worked really well for us. Lots of space for everyone to gather as one big group or in smaller groups. The location offered something for everyone being close to the coast and town. Would definitely recommend

What an amazing we time we had. We rented both the farmhouse and the lodge for a family get together & birthday celebration. There were 17 of us & it all worked perfectly with the sleeping arrangements. We would eat in the farmhouse on the huge dining table & had plenty of room to all move around. It was great sitting in the conservatory too. Having a games room was a real bonus, especially for the fellas. The surroundings are beautiful & being next to an equestrian centre was perfect as we loved to see the horses. Walking on the moors & through the New Forest to see the wildlife was amazing. The staff were also very helpful when I made the booking, nothing was too much trouble & the welcome packs & flowers were lovely. Would definitely recommend both these properties & would love to go back some time.

We had a wonderful "Twixmas" stay at Quay House in Christchurch. The house is beautiful and the location fabulous. On our arrival, we were allowed entry a little earlier than planned and briefly met the very friendly and helpful staff who had just finished preparing the house for us - impeccably. Everything about the house was superb - it suited our needs perfectly in every way. Clean, spacious rooms with delightful furnishings and decor. We use the kitchen facilities most days and everything we needed was provided. Located right next to the magnificent Priory and Town Quay, with all of the lovely stores and places to eat/drink just a short stroll around the corner. Excellent walks from the doorstep around to Hengistbury Head or take a ferry for a shorter walk, and lovely beaches (e.g.: Avon Beach) a short drive away. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

We initially found these cottages searching for Christmas stays on the web, on bigger aggregate sites, but contacted them direct and we're so glad we did! From the moment we contacted Short Stay Homes to make the booking, during our stay, and post, the service, responses and actions were exemplary.
The accommodations at Mews Hill and Criddlestyle, in the New Forest, were true to the description and photo gallery on the website, and more! Across the two cottages there was more than enough room and comfort to accommodate the family, 16 adults & 3 dogs! We had all our main meals together in Mews Hill with easily enough space and cooking facilities. The lounges, dining areas & kitchens / cooking facilities, were all so well appointed and the bedroom and living areas, comfortable and cosy. There was also enough bathrooms to accommodate everyone!
The standout features in each cottage are definitely the log burners, and the decorated Christmas trees in each cottage were the final touch to give it that Christmas feel! Also the hot tub, which was great!
A couple of things that could be better are:
1. The wi-fi signal, which on a couple of days was intermittent (more for the younger adults)
and
2. The electric car chargers in each cottage. We found it impossible to get these working either using the QR code or downloading the relevant app. (There was a fast charger less than a 5min drive away)
Those small points aside, our Christmas week being in the New Forest was the ideal location for walks, including post Christmas dinner and to the local pub! There was a village a short drive away for any needed shopping. Then of course the River Avon a short walk away!
So Christmas in two lovely cottages, in a beautiful setting, I'd highly recommend it!

Forest Drove was a super location and a gorgeous cottage with plenty of room. What we appreciated most was the fully equipped kitchen, including an extra fridge/freezer. Great for entertaining and everyone being together in one room.
The home was full of sunlight during the day, nice & warm at night and plenty of hot water. Lovely to have washer/dryer, but if the dryer stops working trick is to empty to the water bucket at the bottom.
It was much appreciated to have supplies on hand (dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent etc) and a basket a goodies on arrival. Thank you.

Communication with rental management was excellent. Very responsive and accommodating. We had issues with some of the mattresses during our stay but they promptly replaced after our stay.

The house was very comfortable and well equipped for our group and we were well looked after by Justin.

We had a great stay at Arniss farmhouse the property was perfect for all our family over Christmas and would definitely recommend it whatever the special occasion is.

Lovely town house in the centre of Christchurch near the beautiful Priory and in easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and riverside. Warm and comfortable with a good sized kitchen. Had a couple of questions which were answered very quickly even on Christmas week.

Always had a helpful friendly service, giving speedy replies to any queries pre arrival, responding to one or two minor issues during and after our stay. Website easy to navigate and again queries regarding interest to properties responded to quickly. Also prompt repayment of the deposit. Overall a great holiday service and stay. Would highly recommend.

There were 15 of us plus a dog aged from 9 to 80 and we had a wonderful time. The house was very comfortable and warm and the gardens were great to walk around and for the younger ones to play in. We could easily cook meals with the equipment provided and all sit around the table together. Our only complaint was that there was so much storage room in the kitchen that it took days to remember where everything was. Very easy walking distance to centre of Salisbury which we did most days.

We have stayed in this property several times, including when it owned by the previous owners. Short Stay Homes have made improvements to the property and maintain it in first class condition. On a previous occasion we had an issue which was resolved to our complete satisfaction.

Grandparents with children and grandchildren, ten in total, we were very pleased with the house and its amenities, the surroundings and settings. It fit our needs perfectly. A somewhat nostalgic grandfather bringing his family to see where he studied almost fifty years ago in Bournemouth, we all enjoyed our stay in Christchurch. We will certainly bear Short Stay Homes in mind, should we need accommodation on return to the south of England.

Beck Cottage was the perfect place for a 3 generation family holiday. It was very comfortable. Had plenty of space. My sister really appreciated the shepherds hut, we all enjoyed the games room and hot tub. The icing on the cake was the Pub next door, which did excellent food. (However the music on the Saturday night until midnight, wasn’t so good 😀)

We had a wonderful stay at the Riverside lodge. The lodge was so peaceful and had everything we needed for a completely relaxing break.

The surrounding river and countryside were a joy, which could all be accessed from the windows of the lodge.

The beds were comfy with lovely crisp linen and the general equipment in the kitchen etc was all we needed.

We will be back!

Mews Hill was a perfect sized and spacious house for our extended family and well situated for the New Forest. We enjoyed playing badminton in the garden and the two dogs loved romping in the adjoining field. The table tennis in the garage was very popular too. We all had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.
