Feed back of our own works is a great session, allowing us to become both author and audience at the same time.

Jernej Zupanc provides a great course on the design strategies of science visualization, which includes feedback on participants own work. This is not a course on how to use software (e.g., PowerPoint), but how to design.

There is a quite a bit of self-study material, with the option of instead following a web seminar about this content, which is nice as it provides maximum flexibility. I used the online self-study material and liked it as I could pause and take screen captures of slides for my notes. He uses effective examples to show you what works, and what does not. I can recommend the course as it challenges you to look at your own work critically and provides ways to improve. Most people can design a figure or a presentation, but with this course you learn how to do to it well.

I liked how several things that are different aspects of visual communication were put together and explained to us in a comprehensive way.

The course was interesting and informative. In particular the last part on detailed design principles and color schemes helped me a lot. However, a significant part of the course was spent on general and rather abstract aspects of visualisation that could have been way shorter from my point of view. Cutting this part would make the course more concise and less repetitive.

Jernej was a really good and motivated Coach. He provided is with a lot of preparation material and as well after the course we got additional Materials to learn further.

Jernej hast put together a very clear concept and helpful guideline for (scientific) visual communication. His videos are easily understandable and the live session comes with enthusiasm and patience.

Dr. Jernej Zupanec clearly is an expert in the matter. His self-study videos were clear, easy to understand and entertaining. In addition all the material was excelent in content. I am very happy with this workshop.

It was a very formative event, an eye-opening training that gave me new tools to communicate my ideas better to others, allowing me to be more competitive.
I appreciated the self-studied part because I could go at my own pace. It is great that these videos will be available for the next 12 months because I could use them again to refresh the concepts. The video about the grants is very useful because it provides the evaluators' perspective.

I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop led by Dr. Jernej Zupanc. His enthusiasm and dedication were evident, and he invested much time and effort in preparing for the session. Despite the complexity and amount of our figures, he meticulously reviewed each one and provided insightful feedback. His clear explanations made everything easy to grasp, and many participants, myself included, left feeling highly satisfied. The course is a good start for anyone who doesn't know anything about visualization. It contains a lot of practical advise and exercises. The instructor tries to have everyone on board. However, there were moments when the instructor's approach felt somewhat "top down." In situations where multiple interpretations were possible, the instructor often presented his perspective as the only valid one. While his expertise is undeniable, a more open dialogue could have enriched the learning experience by embracing diverse viewpoints.
