It says that it covers “light rain” when advertised on hotel websites, but the hourly rainfall amounts required are closer to heavy rain, and to get the full guarantee, it has to be sustained heavy rain for over 6 hours. The guidelines weren’t provided to me until after I paid as well. They won’t provide details on how their “proprietary data sources” determine rainfall amounts, which is very sketchy. If you ask, they will say that they can’t share their data, but they will provide some supporting info from NOAA. If you do experience extended heavy rain, it will pay automatically, which is helpful. At the end of the day, the deceptive advertising and high price makes it not worth the cost if it’s only covering your hotel. I think it would be worth it for something like a one-day outdoor activity like an ATV/UTV excursion or sightseeing tour, if it’s offered for that.

There was light rain on the afternoon we arrived to our hotel. We received a discount, as promised, even though the rain did not continue much past check-in time.

It was easy and affordable. We appreciated the quick reimbursement! Will definitely use this as insurance again.

I always take out your insurance for the fish camp that you offer. This was the first time we got a refund, usually the weather isn't too bad. I was greatly surprised how quickly the refund came. They left you informed every day of the weather. We had two bad days and the rest of our vacation wasn't too bad. It was worth taking it out.

Sensible weather was on top of things. Emailed me notifications every day regarding the likelihood of rain. The day it did rain, my reimbursement was available to claim immediately. I would 100% recommend this service and will do so myself in the future.

Every day I received a report. I was fortunate enough that we had great weather.

Bought insurance for the first time, bc it was out of town and more expensive than we normally pay.
Drizzled most of the day, then stated pouring on the back nine.

My 3 grandchildren and I decided to surprise their parents with birthday dinner out for their Mom at the Kona Kai Resort. What my daughter and her husband didn't know is that we also planned an overnight stay, just for them, in celebration of their upcoming anniversary.

As a "teachable" moment, when offered the Sensible Weather insurance, I told my grandchildren that, while never hearing of it before, it would be a good idea..."just in case"! I shared with them that whenever I travel, I always get travel insurance, noting that the concept of Weather Insurance was new to me. They agreed to both purchasing it and sharing in the cost.

You can imagine their surprise and delight when it rained that night (nearly unheard of in "Sunny San Diego"), and we received a refund from our investment in Sensible Weather... Sensible!!!

It rained all night but was pretty clear most of the day but Sensible Weather wrote to me saying the threshold was met and that I could claim my refund. How fun to have some extra money to spend on our vacation.

You stayed in contact with me. On the day we had rain we stayed in the RV, although it rained all day as a layman it seemed like a lot of rain to us, but as a novice Weatherman your Guages are more accurate then i am. Thanks Gary
