Lacking in compliance to law and regulations

Smartflow payments T/A Sends.co due to previously being added to sanctions lists. CEO well known in the illegal gambling industry huge investigations due to laundering over 5b UHA.

sends themselves are facilitating illegal shell companies with no physical presence registered at satellite offices, with obtuse descriptors in transaction laundering claiming digital and relational purchases when in-fact payments were made to casinos.

You continue to direct people to merchants that are:

uncontactable,
non-responsive, or
lacking any genuine trading presence.

This is not a valid dispute pathway. It is a dead end.

Where no functioning merchant exists, responsibility cannot be displaced onto the consumer. It remains with the payment service provider that onboarded and facilitated those transactions.

I advise people to research the CEO and read financial crime reports before opening and account

Sends.co’s customer service is very…

Sends.co’s customer service is very disappointing. Despite being shown clear proof of illegal transactions and miscoded MCCs, they fail to carry out any meaningful investigation and only send standard template responses. The UK Gambling Commission has confirmed that processing these gambling payments in the UK is illegal when the operators are unlicensed. Based on this experience, I would advise avoiding them entirely

Sends.co has terrible customer support. Even when confronted with proven illegal transactions and wrong MCC codes (miscoding), they refuse to investigate and simply reply with an automated template answer. Avoid at all costs.

Update 9 April 2026 after sends comment below this post:

SENDS’ latest email is a classic example of corporate gaslighting. They are using professional language to avoid legal liability. Here is why their response is a lie and how to counter it:
​1. The "You are not our customer" Fallacy
​What they say: "You are not a Sends customer but a customer of a business that uses our services."
​The Reality: This is legally irrelevant in the context of AML (Anti-Money Laundering). Under the UK Money Laundering Regulations 2017, SENDS has a "gatekeeper" responsibility. As an Acquirer (the bank for the merchant), they are legally obligated to monitor the merchants they onboard. If their merchants are committing fraud, SENDS is responsible for stopping the money flow, regardless of whether the victim is a direct "client" or not.
​2. The "No Access to Investigate" Lie
​What they say: "We do not have direct access to your account or the ability to investigate further."
​The Reality: They don't need access to your bank account; they have full access to their own transaction logs. They can see exactly which merchant received the funds and through which technical bridge (TAS Link) it was processed. Claiming they "cannot investigate" a transaction that went through their own systems is a red flag for Wilful Blindness.
​3. The Failure of "Strict Compliance Frameworks"
​What they say: "Sends operates under strict compliance, audit, and monitoring frameworks."
​The Evidence: Your data proves their "monitoring" is non-existent. In just 48 hours, their system allowed:
​MCC Fraud: Gambling deposits masked as "Retail" purchases.
​Geographical Impossibility: Transactions from London and Warsaw within minutes of each other on the same account.
​Ghost Stores: Payments to shell companies with no real products.

​"I formally reject your claim of non-liability. Your status as a UK-regulated EMI does not grant you immunity from the Duty of Care regarding the merchants you onboard.
​Under the Mastercard/Visa Rules and UK AML laws, you are the 'Acquiring Institution' for merchants. The fact that these entities are using your infrastructure to mask offshore gambling as retail purchases is a direct breach of your 'strict compliance framework.'

Sends has opened me my account in a few hours, and the procedure itself is quite easy as well. The customer service team is available in the late evenings as well as during normal working hours. Any queries are resolved swiftly, and overall, the customer support team is very helpful.
Have been using SENDS for months without any issues

I have rather mixed and ambiguous…

I have rather mixed and ambiguous feelings about this service. On the surface, everything looks great: modern and stylish design a well-made app and an easy verification process.

However the website states that verification takes up to 24 hours, while in my case the review of my documents took several days. This wouldn’t be a big issue on its own such delays can happen.

What really surprised me was that after completing the verification I received a message saying that the service is available only to UK residents, even though I am a UK resident myself. It’s hard to understand how this situation occurred.

Nevertheless I wish you success in developing and improving your service
