Nothing on the day was too much trouble. They even arranged collection from the Train Station for us.
After purchase customer service is apalling
EDIT. So because we didnt ask, you did not think that giving us money back for a piece of paper you couldnt supply, was the right thing to do? We just assumed you would refund that out of decency!!! Decent isnt a word id use in the same sentence as select motorhomes though! We bought a motorhome end of march and explained we needed a certificate of conformity as we were moving to Portugal and needed that to be able to get portuguese plates. It was a condition of buying it. Barrie said that was fine and we paid for the certificate of conformity and for internet to be fitted and an easy fill gas connection. Which cost over £2000.00 and asking price of £34,995. We had issues which were never sorted out,I.e engine management light on all the time, sticky door catch, fridge didnt work. They were never available and they always said they were ringing back then didn't. After not hearing from them for 3 months re certificate of conformity we spoke to Barrie and he hadn't done anything about it. My husband spoke to Burstner and we weren't able to get one as it was over 10 years old. This meant we couldn't take the motorhome to Portugal! We took the motorhome back and told them we couldn't keep it and asked for a refund. They would only refund the original cost, not the extras but we had to wait 1 month for the money due on 21st August. We had no money on 21st paid into our bank so whilst we were on holiday with our grandchildren we had to chase them and rung 7 times to be told we would be rung back each time. They just didn't seem bothered. I sent and email telling them that I didn't want to get solicitors involved. Eventually we were paid the cost of the purchase price only at 5pm on 22nd August. We didn't even get the cost refunded to us for the certificate of conformity. Shame on you select motorhomes. REPLY. YOU did NOT advertise it! I kept checking and on the day we were due to be paid, Dan rang you. Straight after the motorhome popped up for sale! It took 7 phonecalls to get our money back and a threat from us to get a Solicitor involved, I have the email and phone records. NOBODY found out about the certificate either. It was 3 months later and it was us who had to find out!. You are only after the money, Your after sales customer service is appalling!

A good way to sell your motorhome
Select sold my motorhome for me, and I was happy with the price agreed. I had no hassle from tyre-kickers and didn't have to wait around for the inevitable no-shows. I recommend Simon and the team.

Select moved their diary around to fit us in quickly and did a fabulous job of taking out the whole window and replacing it. All in one day. Great job all round and lovely people to deal with.
They do all types of servicing and have booked further work to be carried out at a later date.
Possibly the Worst Dealer we've ever dealt with !
Our experience of Select Motorhomes- We spent £65k and ended up feeling totally frustrated, underwhelmed, and annoyed by the whole experience - difficult to encapsulate just how poor you can end up feeling from what should have been a great and exciting moment.
We bought a Bailey Adamo from them - and really wish we hadn't ! The sales team / senior sales people were in our experience dishonourable, unprofessional, amateurish & who lacked any degree of integrity. When spending that amount of money you expect all those qualities to be on view and backed up when something isn't right or needs putting right. Aside from the Lady who answers the bulk of the incoming calls and the Lady in the parts department ,who were decent and tried to help, the rest of it was a shambles & a complete let down. They will do anything to squirm out of correcting a situation or deal honourably with putting something right. I wouldn't trust anything they say after our experience. When i asked Barrie why he thought i was looking for them to replace a broken window ( given it was the first time we'd opened it & it fell out ! ) he said i'd be surprised what people ( ie his customers ! ) would try to get away with ! Not too insulting then.....
That's the kind of mentality you're dealing with, so make your own mind up !
Therefore, our advice would be ; If you still think it's a good idea to give these guys your money ( it really isn't ! ) then do not leave the forecourt before you have checked everything properly & i mean everything, even down to opening all the windows to make sure they're not broken !! But definitely make sure all your systems are working, ( do not take their word for it ) no matter how long that takes. Also check that everything is complete - so if it has a bike rack, make sure it's complete and doesn't have key parts missing.....
Once you've left the forecourt you're on your own - or you're in for a long and protracted fight to get anywhere - just what you don't need or expect when spending that amount of money.
If i had a choice of buying a motorhome from these guys or one 200 miles away, i would take the drive !
Needless to say - never again with this outfit.

I would avoid this company at all costs they don’t honour anything they say they’re going to do they send out faulty vans and will not honour the warranty. They tried pushing you off to somebody else to the point of even making me pay to take my van to other places to have checks done. Honestly, the worst experience I’ve ever had buying a motorhome

I’ve broken down 4 times ended up getting AA out I bought a heap of crap with part exchange been on the phone and no common descent call back . Take your money & run …..

Greedy boys.
We were interested in a campervan at Select motorhomes. They offered to take our caravan and car in part exchange and Oscar said he would give us a really good price. While we waited for the phone call to tell us the deal we actually decided that the campervan was a bit overpriced compared to other vans of the same ilk. We had a phone call, 4 days after our initial enquiry, to tell us they had some really good prices for our caravan and car. The caravan was £4000 below an average price for the type it is and the car was £2000 below. Bearing in mind that both were above average condition. I just think they are being a bit greedy bearing in mind they would be making a profit on the overpriced campervan as well.
A Company of Liars
We arrived at Select Motorhomes interested in a Burstner Aviano (2009) AY10 AOD. At first inspection the motorhome was just what we were looking for at the right price. Rob showed us round and explained that the motorhome had been sold two months ago, but was recently returned as the owner had a "change of circumstances". Rob offered it to us at £29,995, five thousand pounds less than the Autotrader price. We agreed to place a £500 refundable holding deposit to remove the van from the market and return a couple of days later for a test drive.
While doing our research into the motorhome and the dealership, we found a review submitted by the previous owner. Clearly the motorhome had been returned due to a long list of faults and a failure by Select Motorhomes to rectify them and stay in touch with the buyer. Having been lied to, we returned to Select Motorhomes and was seen this time by Barrie. When asked why the motorhome had been returned - this time we were told there were issues with the Motorhome which they agreed should be rectified. In their view they had tried to deal fairly with the previous buyer but he had "issues". Barrie admitted that he had seen my post on a Facebook page trying to locate the previous owner, so he knew that I already knew the truth.
Still very taken by the Motorhome but wary of the way the dealer had behaved, we agreed a list of remedial work with Barrie that would be completed before we upped our deposit to a £1000 non-refundable deposit. When this was complete we would return and inspect and if happy, up the deposit. Then further work at our cost would begin.
One week later having followed up our agreement in an email and received no response, I called Barrie and was told that no work had begun as we had not upped the deposit to the full £1000. He denied making any agreement to the contrary and said I must be confused.
I believe that a decision has been made to pull out of our deal because they made an error in the price offered to us and because the remedial work needed will eat into their profit margin too much. They would rather try to sell the van again to another unsuspecting buyer who has no knowledge of its history, as they tried to do to us.
Honesty and good communication is clearly not something you can expect from this dealership/broker. They are prepared to lie whenever it suits them. I am waiting for the return of my refundable deposit.
Sold my Camper quickly for the right money
They sold my Camper for me. Got a decent deal and was sold within a few weeks. Got plenty of great stock too so when I'm ready to buy something I'll be coming back. Thanks to Rob and Simon
Excellent Company and Service
Been looking for a specific layout campervan. Went to Select, and to my surprise I knew the owner, Simon from some years previous as he used to sell me vans for my company. Anyway they had just the layout and age of campervan I was looking for. I agreed a price with Barry, Sales manager and a few items I wanted doing and all went smoothly. Later, a problem occurred with the fridge. these things happen, but no drama with Select. Took it to my local agent who put it right as the trip back to Select was difficult. Select paid the bill direct, not through my warranty they gave, immediately! In essence the service and after sales was exemplary. I would highly recommend Select Motorhomes for your next purchase.

Review for Select Motorhomes my frustrating…
I am writing to share my frustrating experience with Select Motorhomes.
I paid a deposit for a van on 19th April, with an agreement on several items to be completed. Despite being told on 9th May that the van would be ready by 11th May, it is now over 9 weeks later, and I still do not have a working van.
Numerous issues have arisen, including incomplete agreed-upon items and delays that have led to additional costs for road tax, insurance, wasted time, and fuel. I started paying interest on a van I don't yet have.
Repeatedly, I asked for the refund policy with no response. When I finally requested a refund, it was rejected, citing the Consumer Rights Act, despite multiple failed repair attempts.
The lack of communication, refusal to provide the refund policy, and ongoing delays have been extremely disappointing. I hope this review prompts Select Motorhomes to improve their service and commitment to customers.
