The date I was given was weeks away, but once I explained how urgent it was they went all out to get the appointment moved. Great communication, professional survey carried.

My mortgage provider used this survey to perform a valuation so I didn’t use them directly but had some questions about the survey.

Emma answered immediately (on a Saturday as well) and went above and beyond to help clarify some queries.

If I need my own survey in the future I would not hesitate to use SDL. Very impressed!

Surveyor arrived to value our house. He had brought his son with him who was on ‘work experience’.
For the ten minutes it took him to value our house the surveyor paid more interest to his son that he appeared to be paying to his task.
We received the valuation which was 80k short of the recommended value on both Zoopla and Rightmove and 90k short of a recent estate agent valuation.

When challenged the company refused to move despite the evidence provided from company estimates. After over a week of back and forth the valuation was suddenly increased by 30k.

Initially fantastic, ordered a full RICS valuation which was done in a timely and efficient manner.
Due to this expiring (not the fault of SDL) I was required to arrange a 1 month extension.
Upon receiving this, despite saying the valuation had not changed, the valuation was incorrect, and referred back to the wrong date for the original valuation. It was also not signed officially, so Help to Buy would not accept it.
This has created further delays and much frustration in the chain as this is the last item necessary to complete. I'm amazed such basic errors can be made on such an important document.
Still waiting for an updated valuation.

Got valuation by SDL. What crazy is it's probably more accurate doing desktop valuation than their visit. The guy came and stay for literally 5 mins. Took picture and gone and didn't ask any question. I have to push him and told him that the property was bought cheaply due to it's old state and I have done renovating from the ground up. He asked me how much I spent for renovation. I told him number. And what happen is he just added that number to original sold price 2 years ago. Regardless of the value of what we add to the property or how cheap we got it. Our house is also 40% bigger than average house around here but it has been valued at almost the same price as other house that is much older. No modernise. No drive way and much worse state. I am beyond speechless. Talk about lazy valuation. What's even the point of them showing if that is how they do calculation. Wow. And no. I'm not those delusional owner who think my house should be expensive or anything. Even the most pessimistic calculation would put the house price much higher than that. I have done renovation for 4 properties so far so I know what can affect the value. This is beyond crazy.

Terrible service, incompetent surveyor, wrong information in the report resulted in mortgage being refused, customer services not cooperating, avoid!

The surveyor was very punctual, courteous, unintrusive and efficient in his visit.
Explained what would happen while he was there and what would happen next.
His speed of submission of survey report will no doubt assist in the expedient progression of my application and is greatly appreciated in this very time sensitive application.

I recently used SDL Surveying for a Level 2 survey, and unfortunately, the final delivery left me disappointed.
A major selling point for me was the impression given in their brochure that the report would be interactively displayed and hosted on the SURVO app. Instead, it was simply delivered as a standard PDF file. I could have gotten a PDF from absolutely any surveyor on the market, there was nothing unique or modern about it. I found the marketing brochure extremely misleading in this regard, and it completely missed the mark on my expectations.
To give credit where it's due, their customer service team was actually very helpful and quick to reply when I reached out. However, the overall experience has just left a sour taste in my mouth.
Because of the misleading brochure/online advert, I will not be using SDL Survey again, and I won’t be recommending them to friends or family.

I recently used this service for a remortgage. The surveyor arrived promptly and was both professional and friendly throughout the appointment. He completed the work efficiently and answered my questions clearly. It was a smooth and reliable experience from start to finish.

Absolutely lovely service from Lauren who visited our house today. She was polite and I fully trusted her to go around our home on her own. The report was then completed and sent back to our lender on the same day! Amazing!
