Scryla for Authors is a planning and plotting application designed specifically for fiction writers working on long-form projects such as novels, novellas, and series. Many writing tools focus either on drafting or on loose note-taking. Scryla sits earlier in the process, helping authors shape and manage the structure of a story before and during writing. It provides a clear, visual workspace where ideas, chapters, scenes, characters, research, and supporting notes can all live together in one place. At its core, Scryla is built around flexible boards and structured views that allow writers to see the whole story at a glance. Authors can break projects into chapters and scenes, experiment with story order, track character information, and organise background material without losing sight of the narrative as a whole. Outline and timeline views help with pacing and continuity, while notes and reference areas keep supporting material close at hand. Scryla is intentionally distraction-free. It is not a word processor and does not try to replace drafting software. Instead, it complements existing writing workflows by focusing on clarity, structure, and planning — areas where many writers struggle with general-purpose tools. The app is designed to work across devices, allowing authors to review, adjust, or add to their plans wherever inspiration strikes. It is particularly suited to plotters and hybrid writers, but flexible enough to support discovery writers who want to impose structure gradually. Scryla is developed and maintained by an indie author who built the tool to solve their own planning challenges. The product is currently in early access, with new features being added in response to user feedback. Early users are encouraged to help shape the direction of the app as it continues to evolve.

Where Has This Been for my last 25 years? It's BRILLIANT.

Well, about time, something I can work with. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT.

Scryla for Authors keeps track of my storylines. And there's no limit to the number of books or series you can add. I can colour-code my characters and tag them against chapters. And the best thing about Scryla is the ability to see narrative arcs and character arcs on a visual timeline, so any gaps in a character's storyline can be filled. The profile sections in the character creation window flesh out your characters. I just love it. I've used Trello and Scrivener for years, but this incorporates the best features of both--and many more.

Absolutely recommend this with knobs on. 5-star.
