Scope support to work have said they will not help me look for work while I have mental health.

I currently work and need to continue to do so. I have always worked. I can’t afford not to.

So it just means I have to do it alone with no support because they won’t help me while I have mental health. I’d call that disability discrimination.

Would never recommend them to anyone after this. To say they are a disability charity is concerning. Since they clearly just wash their hands of you if you don’t fit in their box.

I appreciate the polite communication from the Scope Research Panel, but my recent experience was disappointing. I asked to be removed only from prize‑draw surveys, as I prefer to take part in surveys with guaranteed financial rewards.

Instead, my account, held for years, was deleted without my consent. This was not what I requested and it created unnecessary extra work for me to resolve the situation. I even considered letting the account closure stand, simply because correcting their mistake meant more hassle for me.

As I did not want it closed, I had to send a further email.

I would have expected my preferences to be read and applied more carefully. I hope this feedback helps improve how instructions are interpreted in future, as the panel itself offers valuable opportunities when managed accurately.

A few on the forum, honestly. Some can do everything, pub, singing, sports and then when they get a whiff of work related requirements, they cry wolf.
I see there's still a couple who think they can upset peoples threads all the time and get away with, and they feel hurt if anyone makes a stance against them. Terrible control on the forum.

Glad i checked reviews on ebay and trustpilot absolutely loaded with awful reviews few examples amazon returns being sold as brand new people getting no refunds lots of customers calling them scammers.
Typical charity most of them are corrupt i wont be buying glad i checked ebay for reviews i suggest others do the same (SHOCKING)

Funny how people All three of them are writing nice reviews about scope mmmm and its the only review they have ever written ?? The facts are ive gone back years on reviews and they all say the same things under current of bullying four same people mocking people especially people with mental health i feel extremly Disapointed in mods for the role they play in enabling these imdividals scope should be a safe place its certainly not

I have been forum user since January 2025, and I don't recognise some of the negative comments, a few of which sound very bitter.
No online community can be 100% disagreement free, but in my experience, Scope seem to do a better job than most.
The moderation team have a thankless task, and it can't be easy attempting to keep everyone happy, all of the time. I think they do very well indeed, under often challenging conditions.

I don't usually write reviews but sick of people slating this forum because they don't get their way, forums always have people acting up or being rude its part of being online but Scope is one of the nicest forums I ever was a part of and the mods are amazing

I’ve been a member of the forum for about a year, this is my second account with them, and any cases of rudeness or poor behaviour seem to be dealt with quickly. I don’t think the mods can be blamed for people causing problems, only their actions when it happens, and my experience of that has been positive.
I’ve used the forum in my worst times and it’s helped me through them even when I felt like I didn’t deserve help or didn’t have anyone else to talk to.
I’m just sorry to see a charity that supports people being dragged in because people cannot reflect on their own behaviour.

This charity needs investigating by the ico for the sickening behaviour and treatment disabled people are subjected to . Please do not use the charity for help or support you will not get it you will get the opposite result. My 1 email that I sent asking for a bit of guidance and advice was used against me as a underhanded sly tactic that had such a negative effect and caused me so much uncertainty and distress that only added to my anxiety. You get advised to ask charities for support then they make your life much harder with unnecessary distress I complained and did an SAR since they made it so difficult when I raised my concerns. Never been so shocked and humiliated in my life and I never even got an apology . Manners and morals cost nothing but disrespectful behaviour towards vulnerable people cannot be tolerated. Só yes scope is a crock of shite wrong ens

The information i received from the support line was delivered in such an abrupt manner i felt like an inconvenience and i was wasting their time. The two stars are for advice only.

While there are plenty of nice people on this forum there is a toxic clique, who I like to call 'the nasty group'. They're a group of people who invalidate, mock, and bully others, they also falsely accuse you of all sorts, and try and start arguments out of nothing, if you defend yourself they then try to twist the narrative to try and make out that it's you who is the aggressor and they're the victims. I have also been on the receiving end of their bullying on several occasions, and some great people have already left the forum because of them which is a real shame. While some of the mods on there are wonderful, and while some of the groups trouble making posts may sometimes get deleted, nothing proper or permanent seems to get done about them, like being suspended or banned (except for one of them), for months and months they have been running amok on there, it's like they have free reign to do as they please.

Full of dangerous trolls on the forum who do nothing but make fun of members disabilities. Mods/Staff do nothing apart from close/hide threads. Very toxic environment

heard a load bang on the door and I do have door bell I thought somebody had fallen over I went to the door a young man was there wearing a vest which said scope flashed an I.D. then started to say what it was about I informed him I do not give to charity at the door he then very rudely said what you skint then at which point I shut the on him these people should not be allowed to collect for charity

My husband with ASD had two telephone appointments with this organisation, which suppose to offer some help and encouragement. He was very upset after both appointments as the staff in both appointments with whom he has spoken was rather rude and unwilling to help. Not only being unhelpful, but also they had shown no compassion nor sympathy for the difficult situation. We are hugely disappointed. My husband almost found this experience as traumatic.

I will like to say a big thanks you to Useif he helped me over the phone and helped me with a fuel voucher. Excellent customer service and advice and customer care.

I joined the forum to try and get some help with an issue I had.

Wow, what a bunch of horrible, judgemental people are on there. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Not everyone on there is horrible but there is definitely more than their fair share on there.

I purchased an item through this seller’s eBay shop. Although I won the correct item, I was sent a completely different product worth around five times less than the one I had ordered.
Despite still having the correct item in stock, the seller did not offer a reasonable solution. Instead, I was offered a 20% discount, which is inadequate for an unwanted item that was not as described.
Additionally, the item weighs 8 kg, but the return label provided only covers parcels up to 2 kg, which has caused unnecessary inconvenience and stress.
Unfortunately, due to this experience, I cannot recommend this seller.

I go to the scope charity shop in Acton and I have to say it is the most expensive charity shop I have been in the prices are extremely high so I don’t ever buy anything. I thought charity shops were to help people who didn’t have money but instead the prices of ridiculous for Second hand.

I am one of the many volunteers at the Ruislip shop. I had had the privilege to work with some wonderful people over the last two years and it was a sad day then we announced our closure in February 2026.While I understand that Scope is in the business of making money and the retail shops are a loss leader i feel the way the volunteers were being treated was extremely poor. We have some volunteers that have work at Scope for 10 plus years with some 20 plus years all helping and putting in extra shifts to help make money for scope. I understand that the world is changing and that charity shops are not making profits but what i dont understand is why NOBODY from Scopes higher management could not take the time to say Thank you to the volunteers for the hard work they have put in over the years. A number of my colleges are upset by the closure and are hurt by the lack of any information as to why we are closing, but while i know I will not get a response, perhaps someone high up in Scope could advise me how much it costs to say Thank you.

I ordered a desk off of Ebay, a month later it still hasn't arrived they refused to issue me a refund so I had to open a case regarding it, ebay have not yet refunded me for more than 3 weeks, when I ask for my refund the woman Helen states "I canr issue a refund during an open case" but when I researched it she absolutely can, I had to go and pay for anorher desk which set me back alot and now I want my money back
