Customer service appalling, AVOID!!!
Sold my car which I had on HP finance with them, the dealer who bought it paid the remaining finance and give me the difference with proof of the payment to santander) 10 days later got a random letter through the door with an updated settlement figure which was slightly higher than the one I got 2 weeks prior, still took the next car payment finance payment out, tried 4x to get through waiting over an hour and no luck, live chat Is no use, so now I'm still unsure as to when I'm gonna get the extra car payment refunded and when they're gonna close my account off. Long waits on the telephone ( I've twice been on for 50 mimutes). The chat " bot" only answered very basic questions which are on the Web site anyway. Failed to take my DD even though the details are correct so I've decided to pay them by bank transfer each month - don't trust their system. Just received a letter which has taken 11 days to arrive which doesn't have my last payment on it.

Tried to pay off my settlement figure, card payment declined 4 times, my bank told me it was not from their side. I called Santander waited for almost an hour to be heard, when I finally did she said she couldn’t do anything because I tried many times they put a block on the payment go through. Useless

The worst finance company
I wanted to buy a car but was refused financing because of the presettles status. Absurd!!! I got a 30-year mortgage ( not with them) and they make trouble for four years. I got the financing with another bank. From Avoid

All I needed was my final settlement letter with this company. been on call with them for over a week now. Been calling them and waiting in the queue for over 1 hour. Last advisor literally hang up on me while I was explaining the situation as she never called me back after the line was cut off so she definitely hang up the phone just like that. Can't wait to receive the settlement letter from them and never use them again. Please stay away if you have more PCP options from different lenders.

Just about the worst company in existence, its true, everything you read about them. You cannot contact them by phone, email or web chat. I even opened a formal complaint with absolutely no response. I have Car finance with them but should have gone with another provider. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
A very poorly run company with a comolete lack of customer service.
They incorrectly took a payment out of my account because their car collection company didn't turn up.
I was promised the money would be returned in 2-3 days it took almost a month, when I rang to complain about the overdraft charges incurred by their incompetence I couldn't get through. I would advise avoiding any dealings with this company at all costs.

Soul sucking company of death
SCUK are one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. As a company who “advocate” for “mental health” and “neurodiversity” the way they treat people who are struggling is absolutely appalling. Dont get me wrong there are some lovely people I worked with over the years but the majority of individuals from this soul sucking company are all toxic human beings with no care for their staff. At Santander you are just a number in their game. This company deeply damaged my mental health and my confidence, my own manager was a bully and constantly undermined me and put me down. She only cared about her ego and had no thought for people within her team. Some other managers and supervisors would gang up and belittle me because I was more of an outside the box thinker and also would speak back if I didn’t feel something was right. They have one rule for someone and an another for someone else. Not part of the in crowd? Consider yourself outcasted and bullied and made to feel like you don’t belong. You don’t want to go to social events? or you require to work from home more as you struggle with mental health issues and have debilitating anxiety? out of the question “so and so does it and they are fine so you can do it” this company supposedly take pride in being there for their staff and supporting their mental wellbeing, they hold WELLBEING Wednesdays, but it’s all a facade because let me tell you they do not care about you. I would avoid working here at all costs unless you want to basically kill yourself from the inside out.

All I want to do is pay the remaining balance on my finance on my credit card. I've already paid most of it via bank transfer. I've tried to do it online but it says to contact customer services. I've now been on hold with them for over an hour to pay the bill. I have a life and this is an unacceptable amount of time to wait when your website won't let me do it myself!

I have one payment left on my 5 year car loan. I had a direct debit set up, but due to other financial problems it didn't get paid, so,I have been trying for 6 weeks to make a one last payment by credit card, The online payment system doesn't recognise my contract number. My card is also Santander credit card. Tried phoning them many times. After an hour each time gave up. I car only assume they don't need my money. So if you read this you amateurs, let me know how to pay you

I have been trying to return my car on PCP.
I phoned on 17 September 2024 and gave up after being on hold for 45 minutes. On 18 September 2024 I was on hold for over 50 minutes, before finally getting through to a person. The guy told me how much I had to pay to terminate the agreement early and told me he’d send me a text message with a link to a request form.
I completed the form which gave me three options on how to return my car. I chose to drop it off as I live relatively near one of the auction houses. The form then told me to call Manheim car auctions to arrange the return and stated it must be within 2 weeks of submitting the request.
I phoned Manheim 2 days later who had no record of my car and put me back through to Santander. Good move you might think…. Well it would have been if I have a contract hire instead of PCP. As it was PCP I had to go back to Manheim again! I spoke a lovely lady, who told me they still had no record, but the reason there was no record was because Santander deal with PCP returns directly!
After 20 minutes the lady put me through to Santander. I actually can’t believe I am writing this but they kept me on hold for over an hour and 40 minutes!!!!!Guess what? This wasn’t the right department AGAIN!
After 2 1/2 hours I was finally put through to the Recovery Department, where I spoke to Harry B. Santander, you really need to give this guy a pay rise and a promotion! He single-handedly changed this review from 1 star to 5 stars. Harry was able to do what nobody else had, he answered my questions, he spoke to Manheim for me and he solved the problem! Not only that, but he was kind, understanding and took action to help me!

Tried to charge my £76 to replace a simple parcel shelf pin on my car that can be bought online for £6.20. When I questioned why it was so high I was told it was a 'dealership' price and therefore the correct price.
Total nonsense and nothing but a bunch of con artists trying to shaft people for money.
Don't lease a car with this unprofessional company!!!
Leasing a car though them which I received on the 23rd of Aug. My contract says the initial payment will be taken out on the 13th of Sep (today) and subsequent payments will be on my chosen payment date monthly which will be the 8th.
The problem is they also took a payment on Mon the 9th just gone (8th was a Sunday).
They have charged me twice in 5 days for my car and I'm now overdrawn! I rang them up and tried to explain that an "Initial" payment literally means the 'First' payment and the one after that should have been the following month but he was having none of it and kept saying that's what the contract means.
Completely unhelpful and uncaring for their ridiculously worded contract and the fact that my family will now go hungry for the next month!
Never again will I give Santander my money!

Terrible bank. They spy on the customers like it is China. You can't use VPN which is advised by every anticrime agency in the world. Santander went too far into my private life asking questions like: why did you sent money to this person, who is he? I just said: i sleep with him for the last few years! Why do you send money to another country? I pay for the utility for my own property. How much do you think is it worth? Why did you buy a car in another country? When did your mother passed away? Are you allowed to be in this country?! What?! After 25 years?! None of your business! What is your overall worth?! Have you won the lottery?! Horrific Chinese style surveillance! Terrible infringement of customers privacy - i don't feel safe after a few chats with Santander. They collected all my private info and used it against me when I appealed to the ombudsman. Santander should be not operating in this country - maybe in China. Santander forgot they keep our money and they only exist because of us - Santander refused to help with a fraud appeal: stating: we saw it was normal for your account to send money abroad. They state on their website and the app: please be vigilant and Santander is here to help, sure sounds good for getting more customers and to keep the customers money...but in reality it is just big fat flashy nothing doing! The banks are not our friends, they make huge profits from investing our money (fractional banking) and we get peanuts in return. Just recently visited Santander to exchange a few old £1 coins - the attitude they gave! Nobody says hello or how can we help. Nothing of that, they looked right behind me. I closed my account after 12 years! Still I get messages from Santander demanding updates of my private details - warning me with the closure of my account! This is sheer madness. Santander forgot whose money they shuffle around and that they need us - not other way around. Their licence should be revoked! Terrible bank with no care for the privacy, they think they owe us - this is not China or is it now?!
Absolute joke
Absolute joke. Need to give new bank details have posted 2 forms and sent 2 online. Still not received so they send a letter asking me to contact them. 10 minute wait time. I'll continue to go on my account and just pay each month....santander have no clue when it comes to customer service. Absolute joke won't be using them again
