The salt cell is still running after 6 months, so I didn't give them a rating of 1. However, I did get a bill from fedex, after purchasing the salt cell 6 months ago, for the custom's charges that these shysters' didn't pay or make me aware of at the time of purchase. I'll never visit this site again and recommend that you don't either.

I bought a T-15 salt cell that came with a 5 year warranty. Product failed after 15 months. Filed a claim twice on this product purchase on SaltPoolStores' warranty portal and received an email after each filing claiming they would get back to me as soon as possible. It has been nearly a month and they have still not responded.

Like everyone else here, their product does not last and when attempting to submit a warranty claim, you get no response. Just stay away.

I purchased a Platinum Edition Replacement Salt Cell T-9 for my Hayward Goldline AquaRite 900 (~25,000-gallon pool) from Salt Pool Store on June 25, 2023 (Order #SPS64492) for $309.99. The prominent 5-year warranty advertised on saltpoolstore.com was the main reason I chose them - I viewed and relied on that ad multiple times before buying.

The cell failed in June 2025 after ~2 years. Symptoms: average salinity 300 ppm (test strips ~3,000 ppm), instant -0 ppm, amperage 0.00A (no chlorine), voltage 32.4V, temp 90–93°F, output 75%, no “No Flow” despite good flow (2000–3450 RPM >15 GPM min), AL-0 cell, r1.59 software - clear dead cell.

Filed warranty claim July 1, 2025 with diagnostics / photos. July 11 they said ship it. I shipped July 17 via USPS Tracking #9536 1123 9536 5198 1396 65 (delivered). Complete silence over 8 months as of March 10, 2026.

Follow-up emails ignored, phone calls dead air after 2+ min, early March formal demand (confirm Mar 7, ship Mar 11) - zero reply.

This matches Salt Pool Store's pattern exactly. BBB (saltpoolstore.com, Atlanta GA with Knoxville TN ties): F rating, not accredited, “Pattern of Complaints,” 286 complaints last 3 years, 141 last 12 months - mostly warranty non-fulfillment after shipping cells, ignored communication. Trustpilot / Sitejabber ~1.1 / 5; hundreds call the 5-year warranty bait for early failures and scam support.

With my pool opening April 4, 2026 I was forced to buy genuine Hayward TCELL925 elsewhere (~$700–$900) to save the season. The extra cost, wasted time chasing them, stress, and overall frustration are outrageous.

Now filing BBB complaint and small-claims under Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act for refund + costs.

Do not buy from saltpoolstore.com - their advertised “5-year warranty” is deceptive advertising meant to lure customers in. Save yourself the headache and money by going with established, reputable pool suppliers who actually stand behind what they sell from the start.

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM - I ordered a salt cell replacement online - they didn't send the right one - no customer service - phones unanswered. I got a bill from fed ex for shipping payment.

We have a warranty problem our salt cell is bad and only have it for a year and a half we filled the warranty form and waited for 48 hrs and no response then we send a follow up email and no response then we try to call lo luck there either we even tried to chat and nothing this company is a scam please don’t use this company save your money

I spent $25.00 to send the Cell to Michigan to an address that apparently does not exist. The cell is supposedly under warranty. There is no answer at the phone number or it just disconnects. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

The Salt Pool Store (aka The Salt Pool Folks, et al) is apparently a scam aimed at those of us that don't want to spend a thousand dollars or more to replace the chlorine generating cell on our swimming pools. Their prices are ½ to ⅓ of other retailers, which is what induced me to buy a replacement for my Jandy AquaPure PLC1400 from them.

Unfortunately, the cell does not work (a small amount of chlorine gas is generated, but the free and total chlorine levels did not even register on my test kit after 24 hours of continuous operation). I have tried everything I can think of to get the cell working, but no luck at all. I have tried calling the vendor (no answer or simply disconnects), emailing (no response), and chat (sent warranty form I already submitted, then disappeared).

Based on this experience (an expensive lesson), DO NOT use this company. Once they have your money, you're on your own. As an aside, this supposedly American company based in Knoxville, TN appears to operate out of Queensland, Australia. Buyer beware, indeed.

I had the same experience described by a lot of other people. The salt cell that I bought went bad in less than a year. I followed every detail and instruction in their complicated warranty process, including paying for shipping the chlorinator back to them. They refused the delivery even though I confirmed the tracking number with them as instructed. It's been weeks and I've heard nothing from them and no response from my questions. They are very bad people. With all of the reviews of the same type of behavior, it's pretty clear that it's intentional and it's fraudulent. They should be out of business. The delays have required me to buy a large amount of chlorine for my pool this summer waiting for them to take action and replace my salt cell. Now I'm finally having to just purchase a new one from a different source. Bad people

I also bought a salt cell from salt pool store and had a horrible experience. When my cell stopped working after a few months they told me to send it in on my own which cost me $25. They never sent me a replacement and I now have been blocked to call them and when I try using another phone they put me on hold just block that number. How can this happen and continue to happen to others. $400 is a lot of money to me is there something we can all do?

Must be a scam. We purchased a salt cell from them less than 2 years ago with a "5 year warranty". It went bad, and I followed all instructions to send it back. The shipment was refused and returned to me. They will not reply to emails, live chat, and their phone acts like a live phone tree, but it just disconnects you. I tried calling on multiple days & times to make sure it wasn't a service problem. I've determined after reading many other reviews, that they are repeatedly doing the same thing to others. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

You can't communicate with them! They don't answer the phone , emails or chat! I filled out warranty form on 2 T-cell-15 that went bad! one in 2 years the other 4 months. I spent $24.95 to ship back for warranty claim only to have it returned because they refused to accept. Sounds like a racket!

My salt cell I purchased from saltpoolstore.com just a little over 2 years ago and it no longer works. I contacted them and they emailed me back to have me send it back in with very specific instructions, which I followed completely. When the postal service attempted delivery, they refused it. Now they will not answer my chats or emails. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! What a joke!

If there was the ability to choose a negative star rating I would. I ordered and received a salt cell replacement for my Hayward system. Although the product was received it was not installed until about 45 days later due to travel. After installation I immediately detected a problem and reported it to the warranty department. I explained in detail the problem with pictures and pictures of system readings . I also explained the timeline for the return explaining my travel. The warranty department provided return instructions and indicated that once they received the return they would respond in 2 to 3 days to determine if a replacement or refund would be applied. They received the return and that was the last I’ve heard from them. I purchased the cell using my PayPal account so I filed a complaint through PayPal. The response I received from PayPal indicated the salt pool store denied my claim because the warranty period expired. If that were the case why did the warranty department provide me with return information after I explained the timeline. If you are considering using this store think twice and be advised to stay away.

Purchased a salt cell for my pool Oct.23'. It had a sensor fail within 6 months which after several attempts at a warranty repair, they sent me a sensor.I repaired and it worked for another 8 months , this time faulting the sensor again.Multiple emails, phone calls and failure to follow their warranty, I finally turned to the BBB. They attempted to contact the company for repair or replace and never recieved an answer. Multiple attempts from the local BBB affiliate and still no response. On file now and out the money,I have advice for anyone considering purchasing a cell from this company...STAY AWAY. You will be left with a useless piece of plastic and unable to contact the company to back their warranty.

Never buy from the Salt Pool Store. The worst customer service ever. They will not answer calls or if they do they hang up on you or put you on hold until it just hangs up. I have bought from them several years ago with no problem but now a different story. I have had to contact my credit card company to get my money back because I never received the item. I hope they are out of business soon so no one else is taken by them. A sad excuse for a business

Wish I would have read reviews before purchasing their replacement cell- it lasted for less than 2 years. Because it had a 5 year warranty, I reached out to them by filling out a warranty form. I also tried calling multiple times, as well as contacting them through email. They stopped answering my calls and emails after I returned the cell for repair and they refused to accept the shipment at their warehouse.=. One of the worst companies I’ve ever purchased from.
