Terrible experience, they asked for additional money two wees after getting a policy for my bike, stating that they had to make “changes to my driving licence details” without explaining what does this mean. I have provided my license details before even getting the policy, never had any issues, claims, endorsements etc. This is just rubbish company trying to hook you up and will later ask for additional ridiculous charges. Customer service and communication is terrible and impossible to speak to someone! Avoid, avoid, avoid!

What an absolute joke of a company.
They’ve informed me that they’ve cancelled my insurance due to 7 day notice.
I’ve sent numerous emails regarding not being able to get into my account.
Eventually got in after over a week trying and upload my drivers license details, first of all I sent them the access code from the dvla so they had access to it, then they emailed to say I’ve only sent one page, so I went back on the dvla site got another code and screenshot all pages to make sure.
Received another email to say they need my partner’s license details and proof of no claims, never said I had any ,so again I sent them a code and screenshots of his license details from dvla site .
They come back with we are missing page 3 of the details, which I sent along with the code.
Latest email about this was on Good Friday asking for page 3 , I was visiting family over the Easter and having family gatherings I thought that I’d do it on Tuesday after the bank holiday but No, they instead sent me an email on bank holiday Monday saying my insurance is cancelled from today, couldn’t get hold of them of course.
Think this company is just scamming people out of the first months direct debit for a week’s insurance. Deeply disappointed as this was my first experience of having a motorcycle and it hasn’t been hassle free like my car insurance.

Totally waste my time spent two weeks emails back-and-forth take your money then you can’t get on to see your insurance are to see if you’re insured they changed your date of birth then tell you you owe them £25 trying to get more money out of here there’s no phone number to complain or even to sort this mess out every email they send is the same thing over and over waste the money and waste of time so please people please do not go with this company having this hustle. Imagine if I got into an accident it’d be even harder to sort things out total joke total waste of time our money.

⭐ 1 Star – Shocking and Unacceptable Service
My experience with Sabre Car Insurance has been nothing short of shocking, particularly when dealing with Mr W Everett, Deputy Team Leader. The handling of my insurance was painfully slow, poorly managed, and showed a complete lack of customer care or accountability.
Communication was appalling. I was repeatedly left in the dark, forced to chase for basic updates and explanations that should have been provided without asking. My concerns were clearly not taken seriously, and the attitude throughout the process was dismissive, unhelpful, and unprofessional.
For a company that customers rely on during stressful situations, Sabre failed at every level. There was no support, no reassurance, and no sense of responsibility. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid Sabre Car Insurance altogether.

Very Unfair Charges and Poor Treatment from Sabre Insurance (UK)
Review:
I’m in the UK and I’ve had a very bad experience with Sabre Insurance. I paid £2,400 upfront for my motorbike insurance. After about one to two months, the police stopped me and told me there was one small letter wrong in my bike details. When I contacted Sabre to fix this tiny mistake, they charged me £900, which I found extremely unfair.
One week after paying the £900, I upgraded to a brand-new motorbike. I honestly expected they would return the £900 or reduce some of the cost because I now had a new bike. Instead of giving anything back, they charged me another £200 on top.
So instead of helping me, I ended up paying a total of £3,500. Their cancellation policy is also very expensive and makes it hard to leave, so I feel completely stuck.
I strongly warn people to be very careful with this company. The charges are unfair, and they don’t support customers at all.

I recently discovered that Sabre Insurance carried out a hard credit check on my account without informing me beforehand. This resulted in a drop in my credit score, which was unexpected and concerning. I believe companies should be transparent about any action that may affect a customer’s credit file, so I have submitted a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman for review.
Based on my experience so far, I have found the process difficult and frustrating. I’m sharing this so others are aware and can make informed decisions before signing up.

Absolutely appalling company. I made a claim for a scrape to my side bumper 4 weeks ago and I still don't have my car back. Courtesy car given for my Porsche Taycan was a Fiat 500. Simon Fitzgerald, who dealt with my complaint complaint, feels this is fair and still provides no answers on when I will get my car back. Amateur company with Amateur people.

This was a really negative experience for me. My car was stolen. I wsnt treated as a victim. I was required to be interviewed in my own house and I was asked really intrusive questions about my personal finances and health. The team did little to find my car. In the end after two.months I obtained the services of a dispute solicitor. Cost me £1500 but worth ever penny. Lots of little wrinkles in the small print..guaranteed curtesy car only applies for a car in a garage being repaired. Exclusions are theft and a write off. As others have said lots of protecting their position but little emphasis on fighting the corner of the client.igeni who did my gap insurance were brilliant.

So ... dealing with them on NCD
nowhere in the initial quote or documentation did they mention that as a proof of NCD they require the actual letter, and that an invitation for renewal is not accepted. i engaged them on this, and their reply answered a completely different question which never was asked.
that said ... i wished i looked up on Trustpilot BEFORE signing up with them ... the reviews over the last year are OVERWHELMINGLY negative, and i think NONE are positive. BAD

I have Taxi Insurance with Sabre, I hit a pheasant at 70mph on dual carriageway & my experience has been pretty shoddy at best. Ive always had excess set at £300-£500 as being a careful driver, any minor damage I would pay for myself rather than claim. However The £350 excess +£500 voluntry excess, seems steep. I Thought it would only be the £500. On top of that if you do not use their preferred repair shop it is another £200 on top. There preferred bodyshop were quoting 6-7 weeks, for Front grille & radiator! Also the reason I took their policy was the "Guaranteed courtesy car" That is the exact wording on my policy. However there preferred workshop did not have any courtesy cars left & no idea when they could supply one? I called round and got a body shop willing to start work within a week. I called & cancelled my claim as cost wont be much more than what they wanted for excess. £350+£500+£200. I have hired a car privately locally. (jacks car & van hire-highly recommend for Inverness). I will be more vigilant in future, when taking out Taxi Insurance. I think advertising authorities will need to review how they advertise. "Guaranteed courtesy car" should be just that, not when there chosen partner has one availaable.
Update as of Nov 6th. I have had to go report through Financial Ombudsman service to seek redress. Got financial advice from which magazine which stated they are in breach of contract. I got a deadlock letter from Sabre who seem to want to cover their backs, with excuses caused by "Hindsight" rather than face up to the reality of the situation. It's not as if I never gave them the opportunity to correct the situation of Not providing a courtesy car! I'll keep this updated, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one to have this experience. Ashgrove said "many have tried before & failed" regarding getting a hire car when they could not provide a courtesy car!

Unfortunately, my experience dealing with Mr. W. Everett, Deputy Team Leader, has been quite frustrating. His communication has been unhelpful and at times discourteous, which is disappointing given the circumstances. I’m now on my third day of chasing up a courtesy car with no response or resolution. The lack of coordination and clarity suggests a troubling gap in oversight, and it appears Mr. Everett may not be fully aware of the status of my case. I sincerely hope this feedback leads to improved service moving forward.

I’ve had to deal with numerous service providers over the years, but Sabre Car Insurance (and their appointed assessors, Northern Assessors) stands out as a truly appalling example of how not to run a business.
This has been an exercise in serial communication failure from start to finish. Emails are consistently ignored. Phone calls, when answered, are riddled with evasions and misinformation. At no point have Sabre, or their representatives, demonstrated even the most basic willingness to engage constructively.
The assessor assigned to our case was not just incompetent, they were actively dishonest. Blatant lies were told when challenged, and at every opportunity, blame was shifted to everyone else rather than acknowledging their own internal dysfunction. It’s abundantly clear that deflection is Sabre’s default strategy.
This is not just poor service. It is a total abdication of responsibility. Their conduct borders on negligence, and it’s clear they operate with no regard for accountability or customer care.
I have never left a review on Trustpilot before, but if this reaches even one person and prevents them from being drawn into the farce that is Sabre Car Insurance, then it will have been worth it. They cannot be trusted in any capacity, avoid them at all costs.

Robbed me blind, had an accident was insured and had a full Licened driver with me, we had a fall out so haven't talked since, no police involved, yet sabre got ccj against me, my credit score is now massively snagged, they now want 8000 pound from me, unreal, I pass my test 2 weeks later and they quoted me over 5000 pound, whst sabre wete doing was actually indirectly charging me for the accident , I refused to pay that money and in fairness my insurance broker got me a deal with accident foe 1800 , fully commercial insurance, absolutely shocking from sabre, theives, my insurance went from 1100 to 5500, disgusting, should be thrown out as an insurance company, ignorant staff and total liars, disgusting robbing normal and hard working people, should be ashamed of themselves, the lad I was dealing with one ignorant bastard, should be sacked

If I could leave a minus star then I would. This company are nothing but rogues. They quoted me over £22,000.00 for van insurance. Over 35 years clean driving experience, more than full no claims, and they give a quote of more than double what the vehicle is worth.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

This company insured my mother via Saga. They increased her policy from £266 to £2,600. Saga explained that this was down to Sabre. No claim has been made on this policy despite what their records say. There was an incident recorded but no claim made. I'd be interested in what sort of claim would have justified such a huge increase. If you are using a broker like Saga, I would make it known that you want nothing to do with Sabre insurance.

The Statement of Insurance for this company has a box right at the bottom of the page that says "Do you ever drink alcohol?" and it's pre-answered with No for all drivers. We were never asked this question as part of our application and would certainly not have answered no if we had been asked. I can only presume this is an attempt for the insurer to have a reason to invalidate any claims based on incorrect information on the statement of insurance - very backhanded. Also the fees for cancelling the policy are extortionate - we only received 15% of the original annual premium back after cancellation 6 months into the policy. Would definitely not recommend.

So disappointed with this company. My son had an accident that wrote off his car. We had taken out the policy through One Call Insurance. The initial call through to the engineers assessing the car was very good however, before knowing the car was to be written off I requested the courtesy car that was on my policy. I was told no, due to the damage reported you won’t get one as the car is a total loss (remember no assessment had been made at that point). Life has been horrific without having a car and on speaking to One Call, I was advised that a guaranteed car was an add on to my policy through One Call and this would be clearly seen by Sabre staff and should have been provided the next day after the accident. Their duty of care is dire! As well as this, my son is being charged an extra month premium as it was his fault and so has to pay rest of the policy but also thrown into the mix is because he changed his occupation from working in a restaurant to now working in a school, another £50 has been added on our premium plus a £25 admin fee! I am furious and so advised that I would give my honest review! Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else

I had Sorned my van, and so wanted to enquire about cancelling and finding out the amount owed in refund.
They just cancelled the policy without talking to me, sent me an e-mail confirmation asking if i agreed to the t&c's when there were none attached.
I went back and asked for them and to know what the refund would be to be told £144 amount to which i said don't bother. They proceeded anyway and when i complained was told it was wihin 24 hours, when they had only given 24 notice of cancelling!
A particularly dodgy part was the refund amount i was quoted, i queried as seemed low. Only to have them instantly up it by £85 after looking at it again apparently. So do double check everything with them as they seem to be trying to short change people.
Complaints accepted 'mistakes were made' but also tried to blame me for it, gave me £25 as if that helps but later upped that as well to £50 when i laughed at it.
Said as it had gone to complaints they could reinstate the policy which they had said was impossible, but would be minus the 37 days between them cancelling against my wishes and that point which would mean me paying them back the unwanted refund minus around £80 for those 37 days, and i'd owe them £150.
That's £150 for about 4 months when they had tried to fob me off with a £144 refund for 5 months!

UPDATE: Why bother replying? That time would be better spent doing things right in the first place. Clearly i have had a back and forth with Sabre already, so what doing it all again would achieve is beyond me.
But posting a generic copy/paste response to reviews from your end you think shows you're taking it seriously right?
