We are a group of friendly, expert, optical practices who have served our communities in South East London, North Kent and Surrey for decades.
We have many years of experience in taking care of all our customers’ eye care needs and concerns. Our friendly team of eye care professionals offer quality eye care, optical products, and exemplary customer service to all of our clients. We make sure to take the time to hear the needs of our customers and have since developed a recipe for a consistently enjoyable experience.
Our team of experienced optometrists, dispensing and contact lens opticians are dedicated to providing you with exceptional quality eye care services, at fair prices, you can trust us to take care of your eyesight and vision needs.
We offer a wide range of services including specialist eyecare, dry eye management, sunglasses, children’s eye care, myopia management and hearing care.
Our practices are located in Crystal Palace, East Dulwich Purley, Sydenham, Welling, and West Norwood. We look forward to welcoming you to the renowned Woodfalls experience.
We pride ourselves on the expert and friendly service we offer at each of our six branches.
The clinical reputation and range of services offered by Woodfalls has continued to grow, our success has been due to our committed optometrists, fully qualified dispensing and contact lens opticians, optical assistants and a team of dedicated support staff.
Our practices are fully equipped with the latest in optical equipment and all of our branches offer specialist services. We have the latest OCT (optical coherence tomography) machines at all six sites, we now also offer Optomap scanning, plus The Hearing Care Partnership to provide all things audiology.
As an independent group of opticians we dedicate the time necessary to ensure our customers receive the best care and advice. We work closely with our clinical partners to ensure we focus on our local communities and provide the very best clinical care.

I used to go to Specsavers because I thought it would save me money, but I never really got on with the glasses I was prescribed there and they actually used to make me feel quite sick. I switched to Woodfalls a few years ago and have been really happy with them.
For the last two or three years I’ve had their eye care plan, which helps me spread the cost of my glasses and makes it much more manageable.
What I particularly appreciate is how thorough my optician is. She’s based at the Sydenham branch, which is where I have my eye appointments. Whenever I go in, she has clearly gone through my notes beforehand and knows exactly what we discussed previously. She keeps a record of the advice she’s given me too, including things like diet and supplements that may help with eye health. I’m also able to have full scans of my eyes as part of the plan, and there are a couple of things she has noticed that she now keeps a close eye on, which I find really reassuring.
When it comes to choosing frames, I tend to go to the Crystal Palace branch, as they seem to have a much wider choice and Jodie works there. She’s brilliant at helping me choose frames that actually suit me. I’ve had so many compliments on my glasses and quite a few people have asked me where I got them from.
After a few years with Woodfalls, I really wouldn’t want to switch to another optician. I’ve been very happy with both branches and would definitely recommend them.

Lovely staff- very personable and I adore Ruth! Always welcoming, friendly and smiley. As a mum of a parent with SEN, they are very accommodating and patient. Prices are on the higher side but you pay for the service and the fact that you can go back in and get advice/ things fixed etc. you aren’t in a mass churn like you would feel with some chains. I trust their team and their eye checks and ultimately - that’s the reason you visit- to look after your eyesight
