I paid $300.00 for jumper “Golders Knit” after wearing it twice it’s shedding wool. After taking back to store they acknowledge there is a fault with product they offered to replace it, however since the stock is not available they’re refusing to refund or address the issue. After wasting enormous amount of time visiting the Chermside QLD store, calling customer care line and sending half a dozen emails I’ve got no where. The only solution they’ve “use a comb and it’s a pilling issue.” I don’t know why they offer 2 years warranty when they don’t even want to fix the issue. My response “no one told me to use a comb every few days.” How stupid can you be to ask a customer to spend time to take care of garment? If it needs to be combed than be up front. I’ll never buy anything again. After buying several products one would think if there is an issue with an expensive product and you’ve warranty you should take care of your customer. You should also see the attitude and the response of their sale rep in store. One minute he was saying “you could possibly get something else.” Than no we might replace it” than no we don’t have it.” It’s ridiculous. I’ll go to consumer affairs.

Rodd and Gunn service…
Bought a shirt from Rodd and Gunn, not happy with the comfort of it, washed it a couple of times, still did not feel right, took it back to the Sorrento shop, thinking this would not go down well, but to my surprise, the support and help were incredible, the ladies who looked after me were great, their knowledge was understanding to my problem i said i would not want to replace the shirt but i would take a credit they said thats ok we want you to feel good about the out come, the staff where amazing wish their was more of this around so help full when looking for cloths that will be the first place i go to. cheers Bob
Bought a pair of Rodd and Gunn great…
Bought a pair of Rodd and Gunn great looking shoes at Martin Patrick 3. Have only worn them several times and they have never been subject to any type of moisture. The left shoe leather where the laces go through starter pulling apart. It looks like a bad piece of material. When I brought them back to be replaced they did not have a replacement pair to exchange. I was told to bring them to a repair shop and the repair shop told me it would cost more than a new pair would cost.
This was over several years ago and I now needed a new pair again. I liked the style and color of this pair.
All there is to order a new pair is the size 43 under the tongue and the Rodd and Gunn on the insoles.
Not at all happy with this brand of shoe and the retailer.6/6

Disappointing Experience
I visited the Rodd & Gunn store in Riccarton Mall intending to purchase polo shirts for my husband. Unfortunately, I was not acknowledged when I entered the store, and after spending some time looking through the polos for the right size without assistance, I left without making a purchase.
I then chose to buy the polos online and placed an order for four polo shirts on 28/11/25. One polo was delivered on 8/12/25, however the remaining three did not arrive. I emailed Rodd & Gunn on 10/12/25 to ask whether the items had been shipped separately but received no response. I followed up again on 19/12/25 and still did not hear back.
On 08/01/26, I contacted customer services by phone and was informed that the email address I had been using was not monitored, although I had received no notification advising this. On 13/01/26, customer service confirmed that the remaining polos had been sent. It remains unclear why they were not delivered initially or why they were missed.
While I did receive an apology for the delayed response, there was no clear ownership taken for the error with my order. Overall, the experience was disappointing both in-store and online.

Surprised at the negative reviews. I went to their York (UK) store today to ask if they'd exchange a shirt - wrong size - and they couldn't have been more helpful, especially as it had been bought for me in Australia. No quibble just great service.
Had three weeks of an ongoing “drama”…
Had three weeks of an ongoing “drama” with Rodd and Gunn NewMarket store and David Jones still not resolved. False advertising and sales pitches, appalling Customer Service systemic in store, online and higher ranks. No attempt to come to an amicable resolution! Left feeling hugely disappointed and pissed off!! Unprofessional presentation in store and false inaccurate sales pitches in both the New Market and David Jones stores. National Manager not even interested in putting it right!!
Cluster Manager Grace, terrible and all areas of the business I have spoken with are RUDE!!
They will get what’s been served up !!

Haywards Jumper bad quality
Bought a Haywards Jumper from Myer in April 2025.
Worn out and holes in it after wearing a couple of times a week to the office during the very short Australian winter. Hardly rough usage!
Unacceptably bad, I had expected it to last for years, not months.
And their "ethical" label is a joke, what's ethical about sending wool to Europe to be woven, then sending to China to be knitted into a jumper and re-importing to NZ before distribution.
Could easily have been "ethically" produced in New Zealand - except for the profiteering of this company.
R&G - disappointing
Good day,
Just to let you know, that after being a customer for 25 years+, I am seriously considering not shopping with you anymore.
How things go wrong (and I presume this went with changing of owners, and the bottom line becomes more important than quality clothing).
I have been a VERY loyal customer, in such that the vast majority of my clothing is/was R&G. I proudly would walk into a Board Room meeting, wearing my R&G outfits.
You went terribly wrong in the following ways:
1) Your logo size on your clothing was changed from the discreet, small logo, to a large, in your face logo. I refuse to wear that.
2) Much of your clothing now do not show the logo at all. Do you realise AT ALL how "impressive" it was to walk into a meeting, and some other ALSO wears the logo with pride...now the clothes do not even show the logo...go figure.
3) The quality of the material and stitching has gone down. A t-shirt now last 6 months, if that. Same with your shirts. They used to last YEARS! Yes, that is why you do not get regular repeat business...but now you are not getting business AT ALL.
You are now on the same level as Hallensteins. Even Barkers are better than you now.
So, from a R&G fan, you have lost me.

Misleading Description
I wanted a shirt that does not have a chest pocket. I bought a shirt from the Rodd and Gunn website. No sign of a chest pocket in the photos and no mention of a chest pocket in the product description. So I bought it. And when it arrived... a chest pocket! Clear mis-selling. Take care when using their website.

Disappointing
There's no doubting that this is a quality store (as I have bought several items before), except, it seems, when it comes to shoes.
I bought a pair of deck shoes from R&G in-store at Ballantynes in Christchurch in January this year, in the sale ($100). Unfortunately, within three months of limited wear, the soles have split. I wasn't aware of this flaw until I went out wearing them when it rained. My feet were soaking.

Just want to say that I love the product and hope it can continue after the Bay closes. I apologize for giving the wrong impression in the past due to misinformation. The new gal is doing a good job. Hope this company will continue doing business in this town.

I bought two shirts on holiday in New Zealand. After one wear and one wash, the cuff on one is badly frayed. I contacted Rodd and Gunn UK through the website. Nothing. No response. Even to say it's New Zealand's problem. Very poor service.
Five Star shopping experience!
We dropped into the Rodd and Gun shop in Glasgow last Sunday the selection of products are great and excellent colour choices, but best of all is the attentive & charming service we received from both Kat and Christian well done to you both .

She helped me find quality clothing for my son and spouse. I love this store. I will keep coming back. I probably own the whole store lol but I’ve never met such a dedicated employee. Because of my experience I bought a full wardrobe. Thanks Mona. PS Jon Robbie (18) wears the clothes and people take notice of him. Great quality. Linen gorgeous. Compare this to Harry Rosen where the staff person argued about the fit of a shirt with me after I spent money at their store and was a returning customer. Rodd and Gunn is to me the symbol of quality.
