Had the unfortunate experience of dealing with RLG with my late father’s estate. He’d made his Will and for whatever reason known only to him, appointed RLG as Executors alongside family members. At the initial meeting we were told by an incredibly inexperienced probate advisor that they would be ‘taking over the administration’ of his estate. A simple application for probate was all that was required at an overinflated cost. It took them over three months to get the process underway, and only did so when we raised a complaint. Correspondence was patchy often with information incomplete or missing. Despite telling them they needed to communicate with all executors, they often only communicated with one, making the assumption the messaging would be passed on. When the grant of probate eventually came through the executors were sent a letter with the grant saying the will and birth certificate was enclosed and neither were. On raising the error with them there was no acknowledgment or responsibility taken to sort it out.
Unprofessional, arrogant, sloppy, lack of attention to detail, careless, perfunctory are just a few words that spring to mind.

Good communication

After failing to return calls, I was promised a visit to create a new will.
Foolishly I agreed, had a sit-down with Saif who took details, confirmed prices and the level if service plus time frame.
He followed up with a link to pay almost £1700 for wills and trust services.
For over two months he has not replied to emails on progress.
Rang to complain, reception offered to put me through to Saif!

Asked to speak to complaints who were not available...

Then I was told my will etc was going over the directors desk for sign off. (Funny how the this worked out when I asked for my money back).

Asked to speak to a managing partner and pointed out I would take this to the Law Society.
I also asked what qualifications the will writers hold and they do training internally... Draw your own conclusions from that, but mine is that the company is sales driven and staff get bonus or commission on "sales".

I'm currently insisting on a refund and will approach the Law Society if necessary.

The reviews speak volumes and to be honest, I wish I'd checked before agreeing to update my will. How can I trust a firm to manage my affairs in death, when they cant manage to respond to an Email?

They promised the moon on a stick but delivered a burst balloon on a straw.

My Aunty passed away August 2022 leaving a straight forward will, everything to her grandchildren. After having at least six case handlers , all leaving after a few months, the will was finalised April 2025. I have just deleted 251 emails and who knows how many phone calls were made. I definitely would NOT recommend them to anyone. Goodness knows how long it would have taken with a complicated will.

I would strongly advise against using these solicitors. Incredibly frustrating trying to get a reply from the correct person.
You can email and call daily but won’t get a reply.
We have been trying to have an early release on money which is legally my inheritance, been told “management is on holiday can’t help for at least 3 weeks”

Everything is slow moving, customer service team aren’t compassionate or empathetic considering everyone that call’s is dealing with bereavement.

If only we knew now, when we instructed this Company to deal with my mother in laws estate. A woefully organisation as iterated in countless other trust pilot reviews. Won't go into every failure so heres just a few. Family member passed away Feb 2024 with a simple will and assets in 2 Bank accounts.Here we are July 2025 and this Company are still dealing with the matter. We've had 4 case officers. Documents they asked for had to be asked for again as they lapsed in their hands. They ask for proof of identity and cite things like Shotgun Certificates. They don't tell you a simple Bank statement will suffice. Threats to go to the Ombudsman are shrugged off as 'it won't change anything they do'. If you read this in time please please go nowhere near them. Your loved ones would turn in their grave if they knew how their treasured assets were being dealt with.

Everything went wrong that could go wrong.

We engaged 'Millenium Legal' who outsourced us to Right Legal Solicitors.

Despite a no chain sale we experienced repeated delays, blatant lies relating to when actions had taken place, blaming and avoidance tactics. Calls were ignored and emails I sent were 'never received'. Even in the face of written evidence.

The solicitor was the most unprofessional, rude and arrogant person I have ever had to deal with and appears to be the only person in this company. Ironically, the same solicitor also runs the complaints department! Despite issuing a formal complaint to the company, as required by the Legal Ombudsman prior to making a formal complaint to the company, we have not received a response 6 months later.

The company were engaged to manage the sale of a deceased estate, which made the situation much harder.

I have now lodged the complaint with the Legal Ombudsman. Save yourself a whole load of stress and heartache.

Rated on their own website as 4.5 stars , having terrible experience with them, the worst solicitors I've ever used, strongly advise to look elsewhere where

This is very a very poor service Put in a complaint and this was dismissed never asked

It's a shocking way to treat grieving families.
We are going to the Ombudsman as this is getting beyond a joke !! They really shouldn’t be allowed to trade as a probate service as their level of incompetence is an absolutely appalling 😡😡😡. Please avoid their services like the plague as it’s run by people that don’t care about their clients and their needs .
Luckily for us we have kept every piece of correspondence we have with Right Probate to prove their incompetence which we will
Give to the Ombudsman’s office..

A further 4 months have gone by with zero progress!!!!

They make promises and 9 times out if 10 don't keep them
Don't return calls
Change personal dealing frequently
Make up new things that need doing without any prior discussion
If you raise a complaint they pay lip service to resolving
20 months since our relatives death and still no sign of resolution
One of the worst companies I have had the misfortune to deal with
The pain of dealing with this organisation makes a difficult time even more traumatic

"We want to hear from you directly" - here you go - its been nearly 2 years since our aunt passed and 8 months since house sale proceeds were paid to you - why oh why does it take you so long to sort basic stuff????????

Our family has had a deeply frustrating and upsetting experience with Right Legal Group while dealing with the estate of a loved one. The firm claimed the right to act as executor but repeatedly failed to provide any legal documentation to support this. Despite numerous written requests, they avoided key questions, delayed the process, and created unnecessary stress during a time of grief. We’ve now submitted a formal complaint to the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Based on our experience, I would strongly urge others to be extremely cautious and seek alternative legal advice before engaging with this firm.

Please don’t put yourself through the stress of using this terrible firm! Avoid at all costs!
The attitude of the “legal advisors” is quite frankly disgusting and appalling.

They fail to show any empathy or respect towards you, in what is already a really difficult time. The lack of communication is awful and I have spent 9 months chasing to get a simple reply or acknowledgment of my emails.

However, when the firm want something themselves, for example, funds/monies to be transferred to their own accounts, they spam your phone with calls until this is done.

My grandma passed away in August and I have waiting ever since for the probate application to be completed and approved.

I am gutted that my grandma named them as executor and I am ultimately stuck with them, making a horrible stressful situation even worse. The lady that initially visited my grandma a number of years ago to create her will was fantastic, however every person I have had to deal with since has absolutely no people skills, no legal knowledge and comes across totally numbed by their job, not a care in the world that this is peoples lives.

Their service, attitude and people skills are horrific and I’ve never encountered such unprofessional people, that deem themselves as “legal advisors” in a professional legal setting.

Avoid! Shocking service at what is an incredibly difficult time. It is almost a year since my Mum passed and we are no further forward with my probate application. The details I uploaded to them initially were not processed until I chased. I was lied to regarding when the application was sent. They didn’t send the right information to probate resulting in it being stopped in January, they decided not to inform me or deal with the query until I chased them in April. They have assured me they are dealing with the matter, however they still haven’t sent the correct forms to me. The Will went to probate with damage to it which needs to be certified, the Will wasn’t damaged when I sent it. Interest costs with the mortgage company are mounting and I can’t even pay it off as Right probate can’t be bothered to send me a Certified Copy of the Will. Nobody including admin assistants or probate advisors answer my emails and I can’t speak to anyone in authority as they are too precious to take phone calls. The Ombudsman is now dealing with my complaint.
30/04/25 Reply to advise me to contact the Complaints Department, this was done on the 29/04/25 in detail, so may be they should check their emails before replying, just another example of their lack of competence.

Follow up review. Had the misfortune of having to have further dealings with this company. Good grief, think I have slipped back in time. Need to access MY documentation and now told they need a wet signature! I bought my house, my car, completed complex business transactions etc all without a wet signature and these guys insisted on a wet signature to send a document! 1985 called and asked for their processes back….

My will was transferred to this company after my Solicitor closed down, I was only informed of this after the event otherwise I would have requested it be returned to me ( after all it is my document)
I received notification and a call from a representative informing me of my wills whereabouts.
After a couple of months I made the decision to retrieve the will and have it stored locally to me.
Phoned right legal group , told someone would contact me….3 weeks later nothing , so I did an online electronic communication, I was called back immediately, and told someone would contact me shortly , I requested they called my mobile and not my landline as I wouldn’t be available to take calls at home,
Three days later, they called my landline! Surprise surprise I’m not home !
Left a voicemail. I responded back the next day after being on hold for 20+ minutes to be told someone will call me back. They never did.
So once again I called…on hold for what seemed like weeks . I actually gave up in the end.
Then out of the blue I received an email stating that they had called me that day , I checked my landline and mobile , and no they hadn’t, no missed calls and no voicemails.
So I immediately called them and unbelievably spoke to someone straight away,
I explained I wanted my documents returned and I was told they would send me a proof of identity form, and I should receive it by post within 2 weeks.
I enquired about the alleged phone calls and the young lady was extremely evasive.
Well surprise surprise again I’m yet to receive the I D verification form .
It’s been 4 months since my initial contact and I’m still no further forward.
So I’ve made the decision to write a new will with a local company making my old will invalid because there seems to be no way of retrieving it, and should I die my family will have a nightmare trying to deal with this company.
Reading so many of the comments it seems like they don’t have a clue, bereavement is stressful enough without having to deal with a company that doesn’t seem to do joined up thinking.
My advice to anyone thinking of using this company is DON’T !

I have been in contact with this company since August 2024 regarding a certified copy of my late father’s Will. Despite following every instruction they gave us, we are still no further forward.

After multiple emails and phone calls — many of which involved being on hold for over an hour — we were told to sign and submit forms of authority. These were signed by all beneficiaries, including the executor (my mother). After waiting a month with no sign of the Will, I chased again and was told they now needed to speak to my mother — a completely new requirement. This led to more delays, and when they finally spoke to her, they incorrectly informed her it was regarding probate and demanded £3,000, even though we never requested probate. My parents lived in Spain and had no UK assets; we only needed the certified copy to show to Spanish solicitors.

My mother is vulnerable and referred them back to me. Since February, I’ve been dealing with this personally. After yet another hour-long wait, I finally spoke to someone helpful (Paul), who agreed something had gone wrong. I was transferred to another department, who said it was all a miscommunication and that the documents were now being prioritised and should be with me within two weeks.

That was nearly three weeks ago, and still nothing. I chased again this morning (another long wait) only to be told that they hadn’t been sent off, and the last note on file said they needed to speak to my mother again. We are going round in circles. Now I’ve been told there’s a charge, which — while not entirely unexpected — has never been mentioned before. This is unacceptable, especially given the eight months we’ve spent complying with every request.

What’s worse is that their communication is appalling, their internal notes seem inaccurate or incomplete, and there appears to be no clear process or accountability. Today’s call was just another round of being fobbed off — no manager to speak to, no escalation, no resolution.

At this point, the company is obstructing the executor from accessing the Will — which is a serious legal issue. If this isn’t resolved immediately, I will be seeking legal advice. We are exhausted, distressed, and beyond frustrated. We have done everything asked of us, and this company continues to mislead, delay, and mishandle the case.

The service is disgraceful, the communication incompetent, and the emotional toll on our family is unacceptable. I will also be submitting a formal complaint in writing

Update - an immediate reply on here - copy and paste reply which they think appeases the situation on a public forum. Shame your office team don’t have the same diligence!!! I will email and I will publicly share how far this complaint process goes - but am still contacting the ombudsman. Too many similar situations on here to ignore. Have no idea how you are still trading..

Shameful company - avoid. No progress in over 2 years - staff turnover is appalling - with each new solicitor assignment it goes back to the start. No ownership- no responses. I am considering next steps - ombudsman maybe or my own legal representation. Maybe that will shake them up to do what they are being paid for!!!

The only reason they get a star is because I can’t give zero.

Communication is useless at best, service is abysmal service, supposedly they return emails / calls within 48-72hrs. However that is not the case, nearly two weeks later still no response and when you call up you don’t get to speak to who you need to but get to leave them a message. I actually wonder if the message is actually being taken down due to lack of anyone calling back.

Lost paperwork within the office but claimed they had never received it even when it was sent special delivery, apparently it’s impossible for them to lose paperwork within in office but we proved otherwise. When I was in hospital I had to get them to email a member of hospital staff so that I could print, sign and return paperwork before a legal deadline passed, despite the fact it was sent in months before and they had confirmed it had been received in an email.

No one wants to take ownership of a case if there is a problem to resolve it, god forbid your case handler leaves as it won’t automatically be covered by someone else without you chasing them for a progress report of what’s happening. This happened to us twice with people leave and the case was just dropped totally drawing out the process unnecessarily.

We ended up taking them to the solicitors ombudsman and were successful, RLG then highest level punishment available imposed on them by the ombudsman.
