Horrible experience working with rentsyst
basically im the owner of a software company that makes custom websites specifically for rent a car business. Working with rentsyst is a nightmare , they are a very limited system , that does not provide the basic for a rent a car to operate . for any requests that we need , changes on the API , small modifications , they responde always no and there is no way . We have a customer that use this system and basically nothing that he wants to do works ,
For a Developer/Software Engineer perspective , awful company to work it , horrible customer support , awful documentation , very poorly made , Your only option for payments is to use their own integration for payment gateways , does not allow any custom integration . they are not flexible in any way , they don't want to figure it out any solution to improve the clients life , they are just limited to the "No" and "Not possible" dictionary
For rental car perspective , they system is very cheap when compared with the competition , and there is a big reason why , is a very limited system , not scalable , and you will have headaches using this , is not user friendly at all , parameters for configuration stuff is all hidden and we need to always contact support in order to get stuff working
I don't recommend at all this company for the CRM of your rental car company , or for any software company that may wish to integrate with the system
AVOID at all costs , and don't pass for the trouble I passed

- Our API is intentionally stable, documented, and versioned
- We do not introduce custom API changes per integration, as this would compromise security, scalability, and reliability for all customers
- Payment integrations are handled through secure, compliant flows designed to protect both merchants and end customers
Saying “no” to requests that would introduce security risks, unstable integrations, or non-scalable logic is not a limitation - it is a deliberate product and compliance decision.
Regarding support and configuration:
Many advanced settings are restricted by default to prevent misconfiguration and operational issues
Our support team assists with these configurations to ensure system stability and correct usage
Finally, Rentsyst is actively used by rental companies across multiple markets, managing fleets from a few vehicles to hundreds, with daily operations, payments, contracts, and integrations running reliably.
We respect that not every system fits every development approach. If a project requires deep, custom-built logic or full architectural control, a bespoke solution may indeed be more appropriate.
