Removals Company Manchester (RCM) 

We opted for the premium service moving us from Bolton to Lytham. Which included

*Premium* (Full Pack & Move): - The complete moving experience - full packing service with packing materials, furniture reassembly and move, along with a dedicated moving concierge/specialist.

1) concierge went missing on the day of the move
2) many items went missing / stolen - some have eventually been returned but one remains stolen
3) three items damaged
4) promised to deliver our items one hour after completion by our solicitors and first van arrived 7.5 hours later and the second van 12 hours later (yes early hours of the morning the following day) - they think they did me a favour doing it so quickly and out of hours
5) They emptied/dumped our personal belongings into a warehouse, mixed it up with other customers and went off moving other people leaving us stranded and refused to answer the phone or WhatsApp messages.

They have been paid in full and refuse to pay for the damaged and lost items £750, legal costs so far £190 and refund for terrible/poor service and / or service paid for but not provided. They have made a small token payment of £150 which is completely unacceptable and that is after phoning them daily for over a month.

The team was very friendly and handled our property with care. They finished the dismantling and reassembling within a short time.

We initially hired their services to transport furniture from London to Manchester for a quoted price of just under £2500, which we promptly paid without hesitation. However, unforeseen contractual delays forced us to cancel and reschedule the move a week prior. When we requested to reschedule for February, they demanded an additional £800+, an unreasonable demand which we refused to entertain. Opting instead for another company, we discovered their quoted price was significantly lower, indicating an initial overcharge by the original company.

Despite the service not being rendered, our request for a refund was met with a refusal. We are currently engaged in a dispute to reclaim our payment. Caution is advised when dealing with this company, as their actions suggest potential fraudulent behavior. RCM, if you don't process our refund, I do hope your company will go under very soon and whatever you do will not succeed.

Disappointed and angry.

I needed the full contents of a 125sqft storage unit moving into my new home.
I contacted RCM by phone as I had seen good reviews and they asked me to send them a whatsapp message and include a list of what needed moving.

There was pretty much everything you'd find in a house to move, so I therefore I listed all the big/significant items and then told them that there were "other household items in boxes", I said I could provide more info if needed.
They did not ask for more info and they sent me a quote which I was happy with so I proceeded with the booking.

The day before the moving date, I received a message telling me that the maximum distance the removal guys would walk is 3 metres, after which there would be an £8.31 charge for every extra metre walked. They also said they could not provide me a time that they could get to the place but that it would be early afternoon.
I was a bit angry to only find this out the day before and meant that I had to try and move all of the items out of the storage unit to the front of the building, with the help of a family member, so the removal guys wouldn't have to walk more than 3 metres.

On the day, they arrived early afternoon and told me that the contents of the storage unit is not what was booked and that they could only take the specific items I listed (i.e. washing machine, fridge, sofa + a few more of the bigger items).
Whilst we were in the process of bringing the items to the front of the building for the guys to load in the van, they told me everything should have been ready for them to collect and that there would be a "waiting charge". I wasn't happy about it and so they decided to leave the premises with some of my belongings in the van.

They then refused to return unless I agreed to pay an extra charge for "waiting" which was substantially more than was quoted, they were holding my belongings to ransom.
I managed to argue the extra charge but still had to pay more than the quoted amount.

After I paid, they eventually returned a couple of hours later to collect the remaining big items only, the other items had to be taken in mine and family members' cars.

Overall, a very stressful and infuriating experience, would not recommend.

I wouldn’t recommend this company. They were very rude and unhelpful although they didn’t give that impression at the start when they were taking our money. My daughter’s furniture was badly damaged as well as them not being able to reassembly furniture correctly and mixing up fixings from various pieces of furniture-this was all paid for upfront!
I have sent emails and contacted them by phone to try and sort this matter out (this took place in August), they haven’t had the decency to reply. DON’T BE FOOLED BY THEM!

Great company Removals Company Manchester .....very quick to respond to emails and very polite. The two guys that moved the piano did it quickly and professionally. I am very pleased with their service and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them .
