Refetcher is a scraping API for public social media data — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and X — built because we got tired of how this industry usually works. Here's the deal: you pay $0.90 per 1,000 successful scrapes. That's it. No subscription, no monthly minimum, and your credits never expire at the end of the month. If a scrape fails, you don't pay for it — charging people for failures never made sense to us. Every new account gets $10 of free credit so you can test properly before spending anything. No card required. One request, one clean JSON response, whatever platform you're pulling from. We publish our uptime and success rates on a public status page because we'd rather show you than tell you. And if something breaks or you're stuck — email us. A real person reads it and usually replies within a couple of hours. That's the part we're most proud of.

What actually sold me was that I didn't have to take their word for anything. Most scraping APIs throw a success-rate number at you and just expect you to believe it. Refetcher lets you trigger a live run yourself — a million real posts scraped in about 20 minutes, ticking up right in front of you — and then download the results and check them against the actual posts. I did exactly that before putting a cent in, and the numbers held up. After that the rest was easy: pay-as-you-go, credits that don't expire, no charge when a scrape fails. Hard to stay skeptical once you've watched it work.

I'm usually wary of scraping providers

I'm usually wary of scraping providers, because the success rates they advertise are basically impossible to verify. The benchmark is what made me trust this one enough to sign up. You fire off a live run, watch a million scrapes clear in real time, then cross-check the results yourself against the source posts and they keep every run on a public record, the bad weeks included. That kind of openness is rare. The pricing's the other half of it: pay-as-you-go, nothing expires, failed scrapes don't cost you. Knocking a star off only because I'd like fuller docs otherwise the proof was right there to test.

Great service and team

Honestly, I was pretty skeptical at first. I’ve been burning cash on other scraper APIs for months trying to pull Instagram and TikTok data. They all force you into these annoying $50/month subscriptions, and the worst part is you still pay for the request even if their proxies get blocked and fail.

Refetcher is completely different and a total breath of fresh air. It’s strictly pay-as-you-go, and you literally only pay if the scrape actually succeeds. If it fails, you pay nothing. That alone has saved me so much money and headache.

The wildest part, though, is how confident they are in their own tech. They have this live public benchmark page where anyone can just trigger a 1-million scrape load test and watch their servers handle it in real-time. Seeing them chew through 1 million scrapes in like 20 minutes proves they have a 72 million daily capacity, but they don't gatekeep that speed behind some massive enterprise tier. You get that power right out of the box.
