The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has now confirmed the new car finance compensation scheme.
To give lenders time to get everything in place, the FCA has set a short implementation period.
This means lenders are not required to start responding to complaints until:
30 June for agreements taken out from 1 April 2014 onwards
31 August for agreements taken out before 1 April 2014
After these dates, lenders will begin sending final decisions to confirm whether compensation is due.
You don’t need to do anything right now. We are managing your claim for you and will keep you updated as soon as there is any meaningful progress.

I would not trust this company one bit
I would not trust this company one bit. On more than one occasion, including in the last few days, they have sent a letter with, "YOU could be owed significant compensation" on the front of the envelope to a man who died more than 30 years ago. They're just ambulance chasers who don't do their job very well. Ignore them. Even if you are owed compensation, no doubt they will take a hefty chunk. Go and see Citizens Advice instead.

By way of a general update The FCA, which governs lenders, has now confirmed a car finance redress scheme.
To give lenders time to prepare the FCA has applied an 'implementation period’ which means they do not have to take action before 30 June 2026 (and possibly later).
