I attended my first treatment session with Dr. Kathryn, where I patiently waited more than 20 minutes for her to prepare. I didn’t mind the wait and understood that it might have been necessary.
Unfortunately, I missed my second appointment due to a misunderstanding of a reminder message, which occurred after I had taken a day off because I wasn’t feeling well. I recognize that missing an appointment can be frustrating for the doctor, especially when the time could have been used to see another patient.
When I contacted the clinic to explain, I received a call from the assistant Jamie that was both angry and disrespectful. She repeatedly said she was just the “middle man”, did not allow me to talk and sarcastically informed me that Dr. Kathryn “didn’t want me as a patient anymore”, because I had missed the appointment. I was shocked by this response, but I immediately sent an email to apologize and explain the situation, that also included personal details (that I prefer not disclose at public review).
To my surprise, the response I received from the clinic was not only unprofessional but also judgmental. The email labeled me as ‘irresponsible’ and included phrases such as:
• “As a result of your error”
• “We choose not to rebook patients who do not adhere to their appointments.”
• “We suggest you finding a clinic that may be better suited to accommodate patients who fail to arrive as scheduled.”
• “Good luck”
While I understand the frustration that may come from a missed appointment, I had hoped for a more empathetic and tolerant response, especially in the healthcare field. Instead, the message is particularly labelling and judging me, something I would never expect from any healthcare provider. I’m sure I’m not the first person to miss an appointment, nor will I be the last.
The new reply from my email, there was a highlight bringing up that I had in the past booked an appointment with the clinic, but had cancelled “without a reason” as it was not a patient right. It was cancelled with a great time in advance but unfortunately it was not taken ‘smoothly’. There could be countless legitimate reasons why a patient might need to adjust their schedule, and it is disappointing that this basic patient right was taken as rough. There was also a twist in my words suggesting I have battered price while just asking the price of the treatment and mentioned it was different in the website. But have never tried to negotiate pricing, and the implying is a lye.
The point here is not merely about the clinic’s decision of not following with the treatment but the way it was conducted and communicated.
I am truly astonished by the continued unprofessionalism reflected in the communication with this clinic. The tone and content of the emails seem intent on causing discomfort and distress rather than resolving a matter and turning a page.
No matter how skilled a doctor may be, if there is a lack of empathy, tolerance, sensibility or respect, it ultimately results in a poor experience for the patient. My experience with this clinic has left me questioning whether their focus is truly on patient care or merely on the financial aspect.

I have never been to a clinic for my skin before due to nerves and not knowing what to expect. But due to having insecurities of dark spots under my eyes I decided it was time. I did my research on three different clinics within the Twickenham and St Margarets area and came across Real You Clinic. I had a FaceTime consultation with Dr Kathryn this morning and she is the most professional and caring person. Dr Kathryn had so much knowledge on my autoimmune disease and gave me great advice. She made me feel understood and very comfortable. I would highly recommend her to everyone! I look forward to future sessions with her.

Dr Katherine assessed my aesthetic needs ( botox ) in a very professional manner. I prefer to see a doctor for botox as they have a good knowledge of nerves and muscles of the face and I wasn't disappointed . I'm very happy with the results and I will go back.

Dr Kathryn does a really good job with your skin treatment. She initially studies your skin and then gives a treatment plan.

I had a video call and was told I would get some dates send to me for available appointments still not received them 5 weeks later

Quick, effective treatment.

So far, I've had just two visits with Dr Kathryn, for laser and botox, and the results have been so subtle and effective. Friends say how well I look and as if I've been on holiday! I sought out Dr Kathryn to help improve the quality my facial skin and diminish age spots, especially on my upper chest (sun damage!). I'm 60+ and never before had 'work' done. Dr Kathryn was caring, she's managed my expectations, and the results have really boosted my confidence. She is a caring medical technician in her field.

Dr Catherine is always very good in her advice about what procedures would give you the maximum benefit. She will also tell you if you don’t need it, or will not see much improvement from a particular treatment. Which is a refreshing change from other practitioners I have been to, who are always trying to sell you additional products.
She takes great pride in her work and takes time to get to know what your goals are and discusses the various options available to you, without any pressure.
I have been seeing Dr Catherine for about two years now and am extremely happy with the improvements in the texture and appearance of my skin.
