From start to finish, Peter Dodd and the team were professional, understanding, and always willing to explain things clearly. Even though my case was relatively short and developed at the last minute, they acted quickly and helped me achieve a positive outcome.

If you want to be truly screwed by a law firm, well you found it. Totally incompetent and all about wringing you for every penny you got.. and literally lying to you.
Appalling Service and Complete Failure - Family Law – Avoid at All Costs
If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with Raydens Ltd has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their complete incompetence and failure in handling our case forced me to restart a costly litigation process with a new solicitor—who, upon reviewing their work, was utterly shocked at their failings.
Despite their inability to progress or conclude the case, Raydens had the audacity to demand payment for services they simply did not deliver. These fees were rightfully disputed, and we escalated the matter to the ombudsman, who has yet to conclude their findings. Raydens acknowledged this dispute yet still attempted to offer a partial fee reduction—an insult considering the damage they caused causing significant delays.
To make matters worse, while the case is still under review by the ombudsman, Raydens have attempted to issue a CCJ against us, blatantly disregarding the proper dispute resolution process. This is an appalling and unethical attempt to intimidate us into paying unjustified fees.
My new solicitor reviewed their handling of the case and outright condemned their charges, confirming that they failed to provide the professional service expected of a law firm. Raydens’ incompetence not only wasted valuable time and money but also caused unnecessary stress and delays.
I strongly advise against using Raydens Ltd for any legal matters. If you value professionalism, competence, and integrity, look elsewhere. This firm has proven itself completely incapable, and I hope the ombudsman’s findings will reflect their disgraceful conduct.

I have dealt with Raydens a number of times and have recommended them to my own clients. I find them to be extremely professional and efficient. I was recommended Lehna at Rayden for a divorce that lasted nearly two years and eventually went to tribunal. The process was difficult and often contentious, but Lehna and Noa were consistently calm, professional, and supportive throughout.
They gave clear, practical advice, handled unfounded accusations sensibly, and kept things moving when it would have been easy to stall. When emotions were running high, they also helped stop matters from becoming more acrimonious and talked me out of unhelpful arguments.
They also helped me instruct an excellent barrister, Max Lewis, whose judgment was spot on. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lehna and Noa at Rayden.

I instructed Rayden Solicitors for private children's proceedings following separation, with Paula Butterworth as my primary solicitor and Paige Gibbons handling day-to-day matters. The situation was complex - a Section 37 investigation had been ordered, meaning the court had concerns about my child's welfare.
From the outset, Paula and Paige provided clear, strategic advice that focused on outcomes rather than conflict. They managed every aspect of the case meticulously - statements, court bundles, deadlines - and kept me informed throughout without overwhelming me.
Today we achieved a consent order for 50/50 shared care. My son now has an enforceable arrangement that protects his relationship with both parents.
What sets Rayden apart is the combination of professional excellence and genuine care. Paula's strategic oversight and Paige's thorough case management meant nothing was missed. They understood this wasn't just a legal matter - it was about a child's future.

I instructed Rayden Solicitors for a family law matter with an international element. Although the partner in charge, Jennifer Moore, appeared very eager to take on my case at the outset, my experience deteriorated almost immediately after instruction.
Shortly after onboarding, I repeatedly received out-of-office automatic replies and found the partner largely unavailable and unreachable. Day-to-day conduct of the matter was delegated to other “senior associates”, who themselves appeared unable to progress even routine correspondence without partner sign-off. That sign-off was frequently delayed due to the partner’s unavailability, resulting in inefficiency, duplication of work, escalating costs, and lack of progress.
Despite being aware that I am a qualified lawyer in three jurisdictions, the firm produced boilerplate, template-based documents with significant delays. These documents were often unsuitable for my case and required extensive redrafting by me. I was repeatedly encouraged to pursue unnecessary and costly applications which I had expressly warned would not serve any useful purpose and would only increase costs.
I was also given advice which later proved to be incorrect on multiple occasions. The firm appeared unfamiliar with key case law in the very area it claimed to specialise in, to the extent that I had to send research materials and relevant authorities to guide and refresh their understanding of the law. Having since consulted other solicitors and Counsel, I have identified clear instances of wrong advice.
Within less than one month, I was left with multiple invoices, no meaningful or substantive work product, and an MPS/LSPO application that was unnecessarily delayed. When I challenged the fees and raised a formal complaint, rather than properly engaging with the issues, the firm pursued payment of a disputed and unagreed bill and went so far as to initiate a money claim against me while the complaint was ongoing. In my experience, this is wholly unacceptable and highly unusual practice.
Overall, my experience was that the service did not reflect the level of care, expertise, or proportionality I would expect from a specialist firm, nor did it justify the fees charged. I would strongly encourage prospective clients to scrutinise cost management, supervision, and expertise carefully before instructing this firm.
Had I seen the reviews posted here beforehand, I would not have instructed this firm. Based on my experience, I concluded that this is not a competent or cost-effective family law practice and terminated the retainer within one month of engagement.
I share this review to warn others and the wide public. In my view, this firm is not worth engaging, particularly for complex or international family law matters.

I instructed the Hampstead branch and worked with a partner (Jennifer Moore) and junior solicitors. The firm was aware from the outset that I was working within a limited budget. After the instruction, fees increased, and the solicitor assigned to my case was replaced by a more senior one, which significantly increased my costs.
In my experience, the partner on the matter was frequently unavailable, resulting in delays and a heavy reliance on junior staff with limited supervision. I did not receive clear or proactive strategic advice and often had to research issues myself and ask specific questions to understand the implications of decisions being made.
Errors occurred when matters were not closely monitored, which then required additional chargeable work to correct. Some of these issues had lasting negative consequences for my case. I was repeatedly advised that certain steps would be quicker or more cost-effective, only to be told later that this was not possible.
I requested interim financial relief (MPS/LSPO) at the very beginning, yet it took around five months with no clear explanation. By that point, I was financially exhausted and in debt. Costs consistently exceeded estimates, and there was limited tangible progress relative to the fees incurred.
At one stage, the firm was unaware of a scheduled court date and instead arranged a private FDR shortly beforehand, stating it would be faster. I was not properly advised on how binding certain agreements would be, which left me locked into an outcome that was later difficult to challenge due to vague drafting.
The entire LSPO budget was exhausted before the work was completed, and shortly after I raised concerns, the firm terminated the retainer.
Overall, I felt the service I received did not justify the cost, particularly given my circumstances at the time. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to carefully consider alternative firms before instructing this one.
Also, I would strongly encourage anyone who is dissatisfied with their experience to raise concerns with the Legal Ombudsman.
As a reply to Rayden’s reply: They were already provided a long detailed list of feedback, and as a reply, they said they’re satisfied with the service they provided and the result achieved and they terminated the retainer due to criticism without finalising the process. 50/50 is not a result to achieve but where the negotiation starts (and I was the disadvantaged party with a strong case) and I’ve spent more than £90k and wasted more than a year. So, unless they intend to improve, I believe the public should be aware. That’s why I wrote this comment. I never wish for anyone else to experience this.

I really cannot recommend this firm. I dealt with one of their people (Partner and Financial Arbitrator) on a family law case. From mid-April to July, they charged me over £31,500. Not a high value case and no court appearances, though there was a read in fee (increased after leaving their offices) and arbitration directions hearing of a few hours. Every month, the invoice was way over what they had estimated (2-3 times higher). I instructed them to submit an offer to try and resolve things and the partner got so many details wrong in the draft letter (ownership of assets, our ages, my proposed distribution of assets etc.) I was left wondering if it was him who actually drafted it, even though I was clearly paying his rates. After the directions hearing I had to question him on his advice because he still had key dates wrong. His explanation was that he was dictating it without the necessary paperwork in front of him. So I have to pay +£300 an hour for a guy who gets this much wrong?! They wanted to spend a week working on the s25 statements, which I knew would be another £18,000+ before even getting to arbitration. I had to tell them to stop EVERYTHING just to get a hold on the charges and they still continued to try and do stuff and charge me for it. When I dismissed them, a full lever arch file full of papers (correspondence etc.) which I brought with me at the time of instruction, had been disposed of without my consent. Complaint copied to the senior partner who carries the name of the company - no response. My honest advice would be don’t go there and if you are there and scratching your head about the rates, leave straight away. I am wondering if there are ex-employees of this company who would have a few things to say. Update after posting: The response from Raydens is definitely telling….there is no doubt I complained very loudly about the charges, the mistakes and disposing of my physical file, with the most senior partner in copy. I am not sure if they only regard it as a complaint if the ombudsman gets involved.

My experience with this firm was excellent. I worked with with Nusrat and Ashley at the Tower Bridge site. They was reassuring, professional and extraordinarily competent in dealing with my financial remedy case. Costs and timeframes were transparent from the get go, they were accurate and resolution was achieved quickly.
I was an emotional mess when I initially engaged Rayden but their kindness really made the difference. Nusrat especially was very supportive, she showed compassion and kept me informed throughout.
I can’t recommend them enough.
