Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service, you can't speak to anyone! My son's policy with black box cancelled due to 'ap misuse; which is disgraceful. Told them on several occasions that there is no 'misuse', the car was not being driven. They now have the audacity to charge me £50 admin, disgraceful avoid!

For our black box policies, the app is an essential part of the cover. It lets us see when the car’s being driven and helps keep the policy valid. If the app stops working or looks like it’s been misused, the policy terms can mean cover is cancelled – even if the intention was not to drive. We know that can feel unfair, particularly if you believe there was no misuse, and we’re sorry this wasn’t clearer or easier to resolve.

The £50 charge you mention is a standard administration fee set out in the policy terms when a policy is cancelled as well as a proportionate deduction for the time you've been covered. We appreciate that doesn’t make it feel any less frustrating in this situation.

Same old annual nonsense

Same old annual nonsense, my renewal was raised by over 30%, so I am forced to apply for new cover - same car, same person. but as'new' customer cheaper quote, due to the changes in the quote questionaire I am 'guided' to taking on new add ons which were included last year, still cheaper than remewal!

The sad thing about this pantomine is that I actually like QMH as an isurance company, when I've claimed in the past they have been 1st Class, but quite obviously someone higher up in the food chain has a compensation plan that benefits him/her by gouging loyal customers, whether intentionally or by the belief that its customers are morons!

Avoid their black box/tracker policies

Our youngest son is a new driver with a black box (tracking device) from Quotemehappy. Now I like the idea of the black box’s and I like my children to have them. I do feel this one is extremely unfair! He gets penalised for driving over an hour at a time, if he drives at busy periods and at night. Now all these conditions need practice and to mark his drive score down because of them is unfair. His drive score has been really good but he scores low because of these conditions.
Like I said, I like the black boxes and my other son has one (he’s also a new driver) his one only scores his driving, not the time of day or legnth of time he’s been driving.
If we would have known this before we would’ve gone with someone else.
They need to understand that even if you’re a young driver, you still need to learn to drive at busy times, in the dark and for over an hour at a time..

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with this car insurance company and would not recommend them.

Just four days before my renewal date, they cancelled my policy without giving me any reasonable notice or clear explanation. This left me scrambling to find alternative cover at short notice, which is both stressful and completely unacceptable.

To make matters worse, I was not awarded my no claims bonus despite having held the policy, which feels incredibly unfair. It seems like the company is more interested in protecting their own interests than treating loyal customers fairly.

Customer service was unhelpful when I tried to resolve the issue, offering little in the way of explanation or support.

Overall, this has been a frustrating and negative experience. I would strongly advise others to think twice before insuring with this company, especially if you value reliability and transparency.

We do want to clarify a couple of important points, as there may have been some misunderstanding. If a policy is cancelled by us, we’re required to give notice in writing, and we don’t cancel cover without following strict regulatory rules. That notice would normally be sent to the contact details held on the policy, explaining the reason and the effective date.

In terms of your no claims discount, we do issue confirmation of any earned no claims discount at the point of cancellation. However, it wouldn’t step up to the next year unless a full claim‑free policy year had been completed.

That said, we’re really sorry that the communication and support you received didn’t leave you feeling informed or helped. Feeling left in the dark is not what we want for any customer, and we can appreciate how stressful this situation must have been at short notice.

My car was written off at the start of this year. It was an extremely stressful time, but for the most part, it was handled well by the third party insurer - Allianz, not QMH. However, after being given the payment for my car, QMH then continued to take out payments from my account for my insurance, including a random triple payment. I called them and said why are you taking my money, I no longer have a car, remember you wrote it off?? They said it would be corrected but two further payments have now been taken, for a car that they already took off my hands, and the last two times I have tried to call them I’ve been cut off before I could even explain myself, just left with a dead phone line! I have photo evidence of the calls I’ve made and the payments taken. I’ve been paying them just to make sure I don’t get any defaults on my credit score but this is ridiculous. Can someone from QMH PLEASE call me and explain why you’re continuing to charge me when there is no car to insure and you already told me the account would come to a close in January???

Would be zero stars

Would be zero stars , Be aware, no customer service number to contact if you have issues, been trying to contact them regards the tracker/blackbox not tracking and Quoteme happy sending emails about policy cancellation, no replies to your emails either, I would cancel policy if I could get my refund but then again cannot contact customer services to get refund.
