HI, I'M DARWIN! FOUNDER OF HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE COFFEE & HOT CHOCOLATE BRAND QUIRKYMONKEY! I have always been fascinated by nature's incredible power to provide us with ingredients that can help support our well-being. Having discovered I was epileptic and neurodiverse at a very early age, I would drink herbal tea and coffee to enhance my energy levels and mental focus, which medication would deplete. After graduating from college in 2022, I faced many obstacles that left me feeling lost and frustrated. But I refused to let these setbacks hold me back. Instead, I made the bold decision to forge my own career path. I knew that I had a passion for two things: coffee and food. And I was determined to turn that passion into a successful business. I set my sights on creating a unique line of nootropic and adaptogenic drinks that could be enjoyed daily. At the end of 2022, my determination paid off when I received my first delivery of QuirkyMonkey coffees, and in 2023, I started selling at my local food market. I was overwhelmed by people's responses and excellent feedback. They enjoyed the products and felt that it helped them. It was a thrilling moment that reminded me that anything is possible if you have the courage to pursue your dreams with unwavering determination. Love Darwin x

Gunpowder green tea with lion's mane and cordyceps mushrooms.
This fabulous tea tastes amazing, it has the delicious powerful and rich flavour of gunpowder green tea paired with lion's mane and cordyceps mushrooms. Although the mushroom taste cannot be detected I know I am getting all the benefits that these mushrooms offer. You have elevated the tea to a new level and thank you for your ingenuity and dedication to bringing high quality products.
Very pleased with my purchase 😊

Dear Beccalou,
Reading your review truly made my day — thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience.
It means the world to hear that you’re enjoying the depth and richness of the gunpowder green tea, and that the addition of lion’s mane and cordyceps feels like a genuine elevation rather than a distraction from that powerful, traditional flavour. Achieving that balance was so important to me, so knowing the mushrooms sit quietly in the background while allowing the bold character of the tea to shine is exactly what I hoped for.
Your kind words about the ingenuity and dedication behind the tea are deeply appreciated. I care enormously about creating blends that are distinctive and high quality, so your feedback really does make all the effort worthwhile.
Thank you again for your support — I’m so pleased you’re enjoying your purchase 😊
With gratitude,
Love Darwin x
I met Darwin, the founder of quirky monkey at a food market in Billericay. I was offered to sample green tea with lions mane, explained I find green tea too bitter. After sampling I have been converted, it’s very tasty and not at all bitter. I have been unable to get to the food market since so ordered online.
When buying from small businesses such as quirky monkey you get that personal touch, a personal thank you in a well packaged parcel.
I highly recommend the green tea with lions mane and cordyceps mushrooms

Dear Kerry, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind and thoughtful review — it honestly means the world to me.
It was so lovely meeting you at the Billericay food market, and I’m especially happy to hear that the green tea converted you! Green tea bitterness is something a lot of people worry about, so knowing you found it smooth and tasty really makes my day.
I’m also really grateful for your support of Quirky Monkey online. Every order from a small business truly makes a difference, and I’m glad the personal touch and packaging came through.
Thank you again for recommending our green tea with Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps — your words genuinely help our little business grow.
Hope to see you again at a market soon.
Warm wishes,
Love Darwin x
My wife bought this through waitrose or the other, tried making a hot chocolate for her . Had to use a kitchen knife to try to get the top off the thing , when I eventually did lo and behold there is more packaging in side also . It’s like a pretentious jack in the box . I don’t want ti read about how cool your company is . I just want a nice hot chocolate

Hi Richard, Thank you for getting in touch and for taking the time to share your experience.
I’m sorry to hear that opening the packaging was frustrating — that’s certainly not the experience we want for anyone. We use an inner seal to preserve freshness and quality, but ease of use is just as important, and we’ll be reviewing this with our production team.
While I am proud of the story and values behind Quirky Monkey, I completely appreciate that, above all else, you simply want to enjoy a smooth, comforting hot chocolate without any unnecessary hassle. That is — and always will be — my priority.
Please do reach out to me darwin@quirkymonkey.com and I will gladly rectify and replace. Love Darwin x

Do you need a coffee that gives you that much needed kick of clarity and straight forward thinking? One that's easy on the gut and tastes supreme? Then Quirkymonkey is the coffee you need! The Lionsmane coffee this Company produces has a lovely taste, gets you going in the morning, kicks in faster then Bruce Lee in an action movie, and doesn't give you that burnt out feeling that you sometimes get from drinking coffee.
Not a coffee person? Then I shall point you in the direction of their Hot Chocolate Range. tastes just as nice as the coffee (though admittedly I used mine for late night reading, don't tell the other half!).
In regards to Customer service, Darwin has proven himself to be a lovely individual, who definatly knows what he's talking about. I would strongly reccomend, for both the coffee and for how Darwin comes across with the public and each individual customer :)

Amazing coffee and Service! First tried Quirky Monkey coffee some time back and repeat ordered since. This year we ordered the hot choc to try and it is scummy. So nice to enjoy a coffee and not have the shakes afterwards. Flavour and variety fantastic with speedie service, postage and easy to use website.
