I got laid off from my job in July 2023 and found this program shortly after. I was really excited about what seemed like a legitimate business opportunity that I could start with little money and grow into something profitable quickly because I needed the income. It is neither of those things.

The marketing makes it sound like you can start cheap and earn passive income quickly. In reality, I spent over $50,000 in the first year and still haven't recouped that. The "business model" requires constant additional investments they never mention upfront - $1,500+ per book just to publish, expensive advertising to get your book to sell, and additional products they continuously sell you claiming you "need" them.

I published several books in the first 6 months, even though these additional costs were never mentioned in their advertising. When I finally got access to their AI manuscript tool after months of waiting, I discovered additional manuscripts cost $1,000 each and the output is absolute garbage - repetitive, low-quality content. Following their "proofreading and editing" process (which is a 3 minute video telling you what to fix but no guidance on how to fix it other than spending more money on an editor) still resulted in bad reviews that tanked my sales. I lost thousands on ad spend when books stopped converting due to poor quality.

After requesting a refund, I've gotten the runaround for the last 3 months and still haven't received a dime back. They keep telling me my purchase is outside their refund window (and they don’t provide refunds for manuscript credits), but it took me well over a year to see that their product is absolute crap and was not going to lead me to the outcome they promised.

Even now, they continue launching and selling new products to their existing students to squeeze more money out of them without addressing the core problems with their main offering.

After almost 2 years, I do not have a successful business to show for all the work I put in trying to use this company's system. I still have debt on credit cards from this purchase with no way to pay it off.

I take full responsibility for how much I spent trying to make their system work - I should have stopped sooner. But that doesn't change the fact that I paid for products that simply don't work as advertised. Their marketing promises and their actual deliverables are completely different things. It's been demoralizing and has caused a lot of financial hardship for my family.

It is my opinion that this company is run by people who don't know the first thing about running a successful publishing business in 2025. Self publishing has changed a lot since 2018 and continues to change really quickly and the tactics they teach now don’t work. This is not a real business opportunity - it's a money pit with continuous upsells and unfulfilled promises. Save yourself the financial and emotional stress. If you buy this program and want a successful business, you will have to make a lot of really expensive mistakes before you start to see any sort of sustainable income, ESPECIALLY using their AI manuscript tool.

I would literally recommend any other self publishing course besides this one.

I am writing to formally express my concerns and request a full refund for services not rendered. Over the past several weeks, I have attempted to resolve an issue regarding my access to Publishing AI. Despite receiving a partial refund—presumably for the Publishing Academy—I have been without access to the Publishing AI platform for nearly a month.
Since the refund, I have received no clear communication explaining the loss of access. I continued to keep my payment information on file with Bread Financial to ensure there were no disruptions or impacts to my credit, even though I was not receiving the services I paid for.
I understand that a refund window exists, and I also understand the terms of the contract I signed. However, I have upheld my end of the agreement by continuing to make payments, while Publishing.com has not upheld its end by failing to provide access to the software. This has caused considerable stress and has been a time-consuming experience.
Given the circumstances, I am requesting the following:
A full refund of all payments made.
Immediate termination of my account and any outstanding obligations.
Written confirmation that my account and payment plan have been fully closed.
I hope we can resolve this matter quickly and professionally. I look forward to your prompt response.

After many months of effort and distress, I finally received a full refund from Publishing.com—but only after filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, and the Federal Trade Commission and posting reviews here on Trustpilot. I still don’t know exactly which of those steps made the difference—maybe all of them. What I do know is this: I was not given a refund until I fought for it through every available channel.

I want to be very clear: this refund does not erase the emotional toll, the hours of stress, or the discouragement this experience caused for my husband and me. We were very excited about starting this program and the hope it inspired for our future.

My husband, Michael, is a quadriplegic who has been bedbound for over a year. We were open about our situation during our sales calls. We shared our hope of earning income to buy a gurney and a wheelchair van so he could get out of the house without needing an ambulance. They knew this and still pushed the program confidently, stating that a $4,000 monthly profit was realistic and encouraging us to “go all in.”

We were assured there would be no hidden costs. We even asked about it multiple times. After signing up, we quickly discovered that essential pieces like formatting, editing, Amazon ads, and reviews all required significant additional spending, and these are just a few of the additional investments that are needed. When we requested a refund, we were informed that someone had reviewed the sales calls and video and found “nothing was misleading.” That alone felt crushing.

Despite multiple emails, calls, and even having our concerns escalated by kind coaches like Brittany, we were mostly met with vague, dismissive responses. I was even pressured on a call by a rep named Anderson to agree to “reset” my 6-month program access, as if that would resolve the harm. I was told, “It stops with me.” They made it clear my situation wouldn't be seen by the founders.

Eventually, I did get the refund, and for that I’m grateful — but I had to work hard for it, not because of good policy or care from the company, but because I used every resource I had. And still… no one ever said “we’re sorry.”

I’m sharing this update not to rehash everything, but so others know they are not alone. If you’re in the same situation, you can take action and be heard through the FTC, the AG, the BBB, and by sharing your truth here. The AG and BBB sent letters to Publishing.com on my behalf immediately after I sent them a letter. They were on top of it and are there to help! You can easily do the same, either online or via mail. So, if you need help, take the time.

And to Publishing.com: This refund matters, but it does not undo the harm. You can’t tell people they’re “empowered” and then dismiss them when they speak up. You say you value feedback—I hope you really mean that and make the necessary changes.

After only 9 months of publishing my first 30K book I am now in the $1K Club! It's so satisfyingly to reach this milestone, after following the program and believing in the process. The PA coaching taught me a lot and I now have new skills to share and publish more books. Lots of great resources in this program, and a wonderful supportive community to share your successes and to learn from.

I am so thankful that I invested in myself and purchased this course. I was guided every step of the way. I now have four books published, and my income is steadily increasing. It's taken time to learn each step, but now I have acquired new skills that will open up new opportunities in the future.

Joining Publishing.com was one of the most empowering decisions I’ve made. As a sole mother, time and energy are precious. But this course made success possible and even enjoyable.

I have been a student for nine months and have published 16 books. I just surpassed $1,500 in royalties for May. If you follow their program, you will know precisely how to be a successful self-publisher. Publishing.com provides the training and tools to help you succeed. It takes hard work and focus, but that's up to you!

The program keeps changing and what is promised upon sign-up is not delivered as promised. There is no loyalty from this company towards their workers nor their students. You never know what is going to change in a moment's notice, how the structure is going to be restructured without notifying the students. I am very, very disappointed in them and the program itself.

I have been with Publishing.com for almost a year. I joined the accelerator program. I have been able to publish 3 books. Before I saw the advertisement for this opportunity I had never thought about publishing before. I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and this is not my first rodeo in the entrepreneurial arena. That being said, this system is BY FAR the best I have come across. I have just generated a residual income that far exceeds the work I put in last month. But here is my reason for the 4 star. This isn't for just anyone. Can anyone do it? ABSOLUTLY! The Mikkleson brothers have put together a super simple system that is easy to follow and will work. I am proof of that. However, if you are not a self starter, it's not for you. If you find reasons to blame others, you'll find it here. Sometimes you won't get answers back fast enough from customer service, sometimes your coaches will bail on you, sometimes your zoom won't work. But... if you just listen to the recordings and just follow the system, you can succeed. I personally have found the company to be very integrity based, if not a bit chaotic at times which can be extreemly frustrating. But would I do it again? 100% yes! Imagine how many real estate investments you would have to make to clear $1,000 a month. Or...you can just publish more books. It's fun, frustrating, time consuming and extreemly rewarding. If you're going to do this, make sure you really want it. If you do, this is the right system for you and I love it.

Yes, I, too, fell into the Publishing Accelerator scam. I called right after falling for the promises crying and telling them that I hadn’t used ANY services from PA and desperately begged for my money back. They said there is nothing they can do because I was sent to an outside financial company tp get the loan for the $10,000. The loan company sent me a guy who gave me advice about jumping my balance from credit card to credit card that has no APR for 12 to 18 months. During that time, I was given a coach that doesn’t even have office hours to include a person that works full time. I went through 6 coaches (2 of whom cancelled due to illness the day before my appointment. I had already taken the day off of work and a sub was retained.) I never got on a good roll with any coach. Fast forward to now. I have to sell my house because my credit has gone down the drain and my salary doesn’t cover my expenses with $830 added to my monthly expenses just to pay for the loan, let alone the costs to publish a book. I now donate plasma twice a week to supplement my income and that has left me very little time to do anything about publishing. I’m destroyed, seriously, and no one gives a shit as they continue to rake in the profits. I tried to believe for a whole year. Do not EVER pay extra for Publishing Accelerator.

I was so excited becoming part of this experience at Publishing.com. Started out great. Lots of contact, phone calls emails. The money was 2000$ just to get started. I figured that out. Then lots more calls and emails. Then I get chosen for their accelerated group. It all sounds great until they hit with needing more money. This time 10K. I had to decline that offer. Once they knew that as a disabled senior , I didn’t have that kind of money yet stopped me like a bad habit. No lore calls, no specific emails. I was disappointed with this company. They just wanted money.

Rasmus and Christian have created an absolutely outstanding publishing academy. Their step-by-step approach guides you through every stage of the publishing process—from choosing your topic and conducting customer research, to crafting your outline, editing your manuscript, designing a professional cover, and even collaborating with freelancers on contracting platforms.

What impressed me most is how thorough and clear the program is. Nothing is left out—they walk you through exactly what to do, and when, with real-world strategies and practical tools that you can implement right away. It’s obvious that the information in this program is not only high-quality, but also incredibly valuable. I’ve never seen another publishing course offer this level of detail and support.

Publishing.com is the best. They over-deliver in every way. From their Support Team, to their Coaches, the interactions and helpfulness is without equal. Their training courses, software applications, and AI tools really give Publishing.com students the opportunity to be at the cutting edge of the publishing industry. I am grateful that I found them.

My journey may not yet be one of success with publishing books or meeting those goals, but I want to acknowledge the value of Publishing.com. For me, it has been a win just to be able to learn from all the great resources, and have the chance to glean some very helpful tools and ideas from my coach, Toby. Every step is bringing me personal value that is helping me develop skills that are benefiting me, even outside of the tangibles of getting this business underway.

This is a terrific training programme. The modules are so clear and in excellent chronological order. Just follow the modules and watch the videos in order, and do what you are advised, and you will have a huge chance of succeeding. I did just that. I started my journey back in November 2024, and 6 months later, I have published three books and am about to publish my fourth this month. I am earning monthly royalties passively, and this will grow. I'm delighted I joined the programme

I think that this is is a wonderful opportunity and so far the team has been very helpful in moving through the process. The classes in the course are very helpful and informative. The only reason that I give a four star versus a five star is because when I asked from the beginning, what other fees, I was not told about all the fees, i.e., book cover creator fees, subscription renewals, editor fees, etc. however, I do understand that there are our fees in any major investment. It would’ve been nice to see that before I made the decision… Not that it would have changed my decision.

My Publishing Win So Far

One of the biggest wins on my publishing journey has been discovering how supported and empowered I feel within this program. The modules are clear, practical, and incredibly easy to follow, even for someone who started with very little knowledge about publishing. Every step feels doable because the instruction is broken down so thoughtfully.

The coaches and support team go above and beyond — they don’t just answer questions; they care. There’s a real sense that they want each of us to succeed. I’ve never felt like I was on my own. And what’s equally amazing is the community. Fellow students are always lifting each other up, sharing wins, ideas, and encouragement. It feels like I’m surrounded by people who truly want to see each other succeed.

This experience has reignited my belief that I can do this — that I will publish and that my voice matters. I can honestly say my publishing journey is off to a winning start, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
