Private Tours of Scotland did an outstanding job creating a customized itinerary that perfectly matched everything we hoped to experience.

Scotland truly is "beyond imagining" and "beyond the ordinary." It was the trip of a lifetime and a dream come true.

As devoted Outlander fans, our trip was designed around visiting many of the iconic filming locations. We were thrilled to experience Lallybroch (Midhope Castle), the wedding chapel (Glencorse Kirk), Culloden Battlefield—truly sacred ground—Clava Cairns (the standing stones), Culross (Cranesmuir), Holyroodhouse (Jamie's print shop scenes), and the breathtaking Isle of Skye, whose scenery is featured in the Outlander opening sequence. One of the most memorable moments of our trip was when legendary bagpiper Hamish Moore surprised us by playing the Outlander (Skye Boat Song) theme on his bagpipes. It gave us goosebumps and was something we'll never forget.

Every evening we would look at each other and say, "That was the BEST day!" Then somehow the next day managed to top it. We repeated that phrase throughout the entire trip.

Some of our highlights included:

Edinburgh – Three days was the perfect amount of time to explore the city, enjoy the pubs, shop the Royal Mile, and experience outstanding dining. Our favorite restaurants included The Kitchin, Inverlochy Castle, and Rocpool—all absolutely unforgettable.
Hotels – Our three favorites were The Cromlix, The Balmoral, and Inverlochy Castle...wow, wow, wow!
Isle of Skye – The entire island is stunning. Hiking to the Old Man of Storr rewarded us with one of the most breathtaking views of the entire trip.
The Islander – Designing custom Scottish tweed purses in Edinburgh was such a fun experience and a wonderful keepsake.
The Puffin Rooms – Enjoying a Cuban cigar in Edinburgh made for a memorable evening.
Private Driver – Having a dedicated driver made the trip incredibly relaxing. We traveled efficiently, enjoyed complete flexibility, never had to wait on a group, and experienced Scotland at our own pace. We highly recommend this option.
Private Experiences – Every private experience recommended by Private Tours of Scotland was exceptional—from our wonderful walking guide, Christine, to bagpiper Hamish Moore, foraging with Hamish Martin, and our Highland "coo" experience with Jane. Each one was truly superb and added something special to our journey.

From the day we started dreaming of our trip to Scotland until last night when we arrived back home- our experience with Private Tours Scotland was perfect. Perfect advice, patience, kindness, planning and service. The entire team- especially Rebecca and Alastair were so knowledgeable and helpful. We loved every minute of our time in the highlands and on Skye. They took care of absolutely everything and it was amazing!! I can’t recommend them enough!! This is the 2nd Tour that MV Luxury Tour has designed for our group and I did not dream that this trip could possibly surpass last year's Highland Tour but it did! Michelle and Alan were so knowledgeable and responsive to the many questions and requests regarding the itinerary and historical places that our group wished to visit. We followed the Pict trail and stones along the N.Coast 500 as well as historical castles, kirks, viking ruins, brochs, beaches, caves and hiking trails along the way. Each day brought a delightful and stunning surprise~~the landscape of the Scottish coast is stunning and dramatic and constantly changing with the light, mist, rain and fog! Our driver, Neil, was critical to the success of this trip. Neil was able to tweak the itinerary around the weather conditions and time constraints and still manage to get most everything accomplished. He also was able to add some delightful surprises to our days in areas where he personally had spent some time, ie an artist studio on Harris island and Harris Tweed museum as well as some lovely beaches and viking ruins. Neil was knowlegeable and definitely an intrical part of the trip and I cannot image enjoying the trip quite as much without him. This was a trip of a lifetime for each of us and I thank MV Tours for their efforts to make this trip so specal for us. MV Tours is very professional and the staff is delightful to work with. We went back a second time because we loved our first trip so much and wanted to see what we did not have time to see last year. Even though the trip was a different theme and venue, This trip was just as magical as last year. The arrangements were great, especially the Ness Walk , a hotel in Inverness. I must tell you that the customer service was superb. My story is this - I had written a poem for our driver (same one as last year) and edited the poem on our flight to Scotland. I asked it if was possible to have the poem printed in calligraphy. They did so AND printed the poem on pretty paper with a thistle border and made extra copies!
The coordination of our schedule and sites we desired exceeded our expectations with this company and driver. I really recommend private tours - you will not be sorry. Trust me.

From our first interaction with Private Tours Scotland to our drop off at the airport, everything went smoothly. Usually we use national or well known guided tour companies, but we thought we wanted a more personal tour experience, so I did a Google search of top Scotland tour companies. Private Tours Scotland came up as the highest rated. I went to the website, placed an inquiry and within just hours, Private Tours Scotland contacted us. We scheduled a call with our group and Michelle. She asked many questions about our interests, our travel experience, the kinds of things we liked to do and the kinds of food we liked to eat. Our first impression was very good. Within hours, Michelle had provided a complete itinerary for us to review. Upon review, we only made two adjustments to the itinerary! I have to say that is absolutely unheard of for a tour company to listen and get the details right immediately! Our coordinator Amy continued with the incredible service in making sure everything about our trip was just right - hotels, restaurants, tour guides, golf reservations, etc. She was responsive and anticipated our every need. The real ''cement" for us was meeting Chris Coleman, our driver. Chris contacted us a week prior to our departure from the US with a wonderful introduction of himself, offering assistance and even asking what types of snacks and drinks he could stock our minibus with!
While everything else on this trip had been spot on, Chris was the deciding factor that made this tour was near perfect. We can't begin to list all the things he did that made such a big difference -- besides being friendly, humorous, sincere and engaging, he was courteous, cautious in his driving and a true gentleman. He was always early and prepared us for the day and the stops we would have. He never rushed us, but he did keep us on schedule. We HIGHLY recommend Private Tours Scotland and especially Amy for your travel planning!

This was the trip of a lifetime. What a magical experience! Every detail was perfectly managed, from our Stellar driver, George, to all the reservations for rooms and dinners, to fitting in everything we wanted to see. In my travels, I have learned "you don't know what you don't know." Thankfully, we connected with Private Tours Scotland, who knew MANY things that made our 12 day trip absolutely fabulous.
We deferred to them for hotels and wow, were we glad we did. The driver they paired us with made our trip. The private guides were each amazing and knowledgeable. The activities they suggested and arranged for us were best in class - the sheepdog herding demonstration, the visit to a farm, private boat rides . . . . we could not imagine a better itinerary.
They were also super flexible and accommodating with any changes we wanted to make, or places we wanted to include.

Having just returned from an awesome trip to Scotland arranged and coordinated by Maria & Jessica of MV Luxury Travel Scotland, we could not be more pleased.
From the first contact we had with Maria, we knew we were in good hands. She worked with us to craft our trip, listening to our concerns, making adjustments and recommendations, ending in a final itinerary that was everything we had hoped for.
Once our itinerary was finalized, Jessica took over coordinating every detail. She was always quick to respond to questions and changes leading up to our trip, and stayed on top of everything, notifying us of itinerary changes due to weather and providing great alternatives.
Every detail of our trip was handled with top notch care, from providing our driver, tickets, and hotel reservations, to arranging our dinner reservations nightly.
All we had to do was show up and enjoy. I cannot recommend MV Luxury Travel, Maria, and Jessica more highly.

We had a tailor made trip to Scotland planned with the help and expertise of Private Tours Scotland. Alasdair was my initial contact arranging the actual trip. He really took into consideration all of my requests and desires for the trip, (which I was designing for my husband’s 60th birthday). It included several whiskey tastings, and a stay in a castle. I was then passed along to Jessica, who meticulously arranged all the details of the trip. This included the transfers from airports, train stations and a driver from a private residence in Manchester to Gatwick airport, tours, restaurant reservations and other points of interest. Finally, we requested a blue badge driver, and Alasdair and Jessica secured one immediately.

We were very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism we were given. I would have no hesitation to use it recommends company!

Private Tours Scotland arranged a near perfect vacation for my wife and myself. It was a belated 40th birthday gift, and so expectations were high. She is a photographer and I like castles and historic arms and armor, so between the scenery and the history of Scotland it seemed like it would have something for both of us. I'm pleased to report that the 5 night tour (7-12 of June) of the highlands lived up to expectations. And there were a couple of activities that I don't think we'd have found or chosen on our own that we were both glad we did. We encourage anyone considering hiring Private Tours Scotland to be receptive to their suggestions. And they were notably receptive to our requests, even arranging a night at a property my wife discovered on her own. Having everything arranged, pre booked, and paid in advance (aside from meals of course) was worth expense. They were professional throughout. We would use them again.

What an amazing adventure!! We had a fantastic experience with Michelle and Alan who helped us plan an unforgettable vacation!! We got to see so many beautiful places and so much history!! We loved the fact that we didn’t have to book anything. We just had to decide on what we wanted to see and where we wanted to go, then let the experts Michelle and Alan take over. My family's adventure in Scotland was wonderful! My thanks to Chris Theron and Private Tours Scotland for a very enjoyable and restful vacation in a beautiful country!

Private Tours Scotland made this trip a trip of a lifetime. They, with their professional expertise, coordinated everything to include all the sites on our wishlist plus more. We did not have to worry about hotels, evening/breakfast meals and driving from one site to the next. The hotels were top of the line; and the driver - well he was totally awesome and a complete joy. We were left to experience the trip with sheer joy.

Our team at Private Tours of Scotland took care of all the details for our trip to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They were easy to work with, quick to respond to questions and requests making the planning stages stress free. They combined our list of must see and do with wonderful recommendations. Our driver in Scotland, Neil was top notch, he took care of all the details and even added extra details and stories related to the sites were were visiting, which let us enjoy the scenery without the worry of how to get where we were going while driving on the opposite side of the road.

One of my favorite experiences was the falconry experience at the Isle of Eriska provided by Elite Falconry. We were able to handle 5 different birds, including a falcon, bald eagle and owl. Well worth the money.

If I ever get the chance to go back to Scotland I would not hesitate to use them again.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Private Tours Scotland curated a perfect bespoke experience for our recent family trip. The team gracefully juggled input from seven adults (ranging in age from 25 to 65, each with different suggestions) to create an itinerary that pleased everyone. Responsive, professional and very friendly individuals from our first online inquiry through the planning process and on the ground in Scotland. We truly enjoyed every beautiful venue, lovely accommodations, interesting food options, and the luxurious transportation. We could not be more pleased with Private Tours!

This was our anniversary trip/honeymoon, a 10 day trip private tour with Private Tours of Scotland. This exceeded our expectations and was an incredible experience! We were able to customize our tour to what we wanted to see. It made the process so easy for us, they made reservations for hotels, activities and dinner reservations. Amy, who was our contact, was very accommodating and very helpful in making this tour happen. Our arrival started off with late/missed flights, but they made sure that all arrangements were taken care of and the communication was outstanding. The hotels(we chose 4 star hotels), the people were friendly, helpful and accommodations always had beautiful views. We always looked forward to the dinner reservations as the meals were so good!

Having a driver allowed us to enjoy the sights. Our driver George, was fantastic! He made the trip even better with his friendly manner and knowledge on the different locations. One of the days we only schedule one activity, but we changed our minds and wanted to do more. George suggested a museum on the island (Museum of Islay Life - which I highly recommend) and a couple of additional whiskey tastings (for my husband).

I would HIGHLY recommend this company if you are considering a private tour. They made this experience so easy for us and we were able to enjoy without the hassle of arranging everything. It was a once in a lifetime experience for us!
