With less than a week notice, PTE developed an exceptional 4 day tour plan for us which included an array of iconic sites in and around London. Our primary tour guide, Graeme, was exceptional — knowledgeable, engaging, and very receptive to our questions!! The guides at the remote sites were also very knowledgeable. Our driver, Kyrie, was always on time, engaging, and provided great insight to sights along the way. We’ll definitely come back to PTE for our next visit.

My son and I enjoyed a brief trip to the UK to see Jane Austen sites. Mason was our driver extraordinaire. He was safe, timely, reliable, personable, and invariably cheerful: everything we could have wanted. He made the trip easy and fun. I highly recommend him.

Private Tours England provided us with an unforgettable experience. They arranged an itinerary of English stately homes based on my requests. They provided a well-planned route, arranged the tickets, took care of booking the hotels, and provided an excellent driver/guide (Calvin) who enlivened our vacation. He was an excellent and careful driver and kept us entertained between stops with his commentary. All around, a perfect experience.

Calvin is absolutely outstanding. On a rating of 1-10 he is a 15!! He took really great care of us. Superior service!

I now cannot imagine doing any type of tour in England unless it is through Private Tours England. We had the most positive experience ever and I have been to England many times. our driver, Mark, was just a remarkable person! He made certain that we saw everything on our itinerary and then there were "Mark surprises" that really added greatly to our experience. We were picked up at our hotel in London and whisked away to the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds, Bath, and Oxford. Our hotels were all top notch with very well appointed rooms and superb service.
We are 78 and 80 and Mark was so gracious about getting us places close to the destination and aiding us with luggage.

I gave Private Tours an idea of what we wanted to see and then their excellent staff added locations that I had not thought of. We saw amazing things that we would never have known about. One of my favorite places was Lacock Village and Lacock Abbey. I had never heard of it and it was such a significant addition to our trip. Mark also noticed my husband talking about Clarkson's Farm and we found ourselves there and enjoying a pint at the brewery There were so many small but important personal touches that made this one of our favorite trips and we travel a good deal. I would highly recommend this company and our guide, Mark.

Stephen was a great host, always there when needed, and entertaining with his commentary. He made the day so easy and relaxed.

WOW 🤩 Did we hit the jackpot with our driver and tour guide Calvin to The Cotswolds today. He made us feel so welcome and his history knowledge is amazing !! Calvin was very professional, personable and a true passion for the English countryside . He has excellent taste in selecting a great restaurant for our lunch stop ! Just the right atmosphere and delicious menu. My friend Sharon and I can’t wait to book Calvin for another tour when we come back to London. Hiring a private driver and your guide is the way to go for a day trip in The Cotswolds -thank you for a wonderful day and creating memories !!

Mark was a wonderful guide and companion as we visited our ancestors home towns. He genuinely embraced our quest. He was efficient, prompt and accommodating. Also, his vehicle was beautiful and comfortable, not to mention impressive.

From online booking, to creating a custom tour exactly as we wanted it, to the day spent with our great guide, Peter, Private Tours England was the ideal way for us to see and experience England. We were looking for day trips from London that would give us maximum flexibility yet allow us to explore gardens and castles we hadn't seen before. Our custom tour was perfect. Our guide, Peter, was knowledgeable, treated us to wonderful history background, had great restaurant recommendations and took good care of us. At the same time, we were able to explore on our own. It was a perfect way to see England!

Pick up and drop off was on time and easy. Your purchase of our train tickets was extremely helpful. All preliminary communications couldn’t have been better. Our guide, Claire, was helpful, knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with.

We took a day trip out of London to visit Oxford and the Cotswolds. I have been there before but my husband hadn’t. We watch a lot of British TV in the US and many of the shows were filmed in that area.
We were very fortunate to have Kyri as our driver. He not only is very knowledgeable about the areas and history but also very friendly. I told him the types of things we were interested in and some of the places I had liked on my first trip. Not only did we go to the places I had asked but he also took us to some hidden gems. He was very accommodating as far as stopping for pictures. The areas are so picturesque and I wanted to make the most of that. Plus it was fun to see them right in front of you rather than on TV. He suggested we have lunch at a local inn, the Lamb Inn in Burford. I thought ok, that will be fun. I never expected the food to be so incredible. They had an amazing chef. I had a trout filet that was served with local vegetables and had an amazing sauce. Truly a hidden gem in Burford. It is a very charming inn.
Going to Oxford and the Cotswolds is always a wonderful way to spend a day or two. But if you are fortunate enough to have Kyri as your driver guide it will be even more fun.
If we decide to take some trips in the future to other spots in England, I will definitely use Private Tours England and will request Kyri to take us on the journey.

I arranged a 1 day trip to Chatsworth to e was fantasticvisit Pemberly on Jane Austen's 250 birthday. Private Tour of England did not disappoint! The communication from the beginning was excellent. I was assigned Calvin for the 8 hour round trip and he was fantastic! I thought the ride to Chatsworth would be uneventful since the scheduler advised me we would be on the highway for most of the trip to get to Chatsworth for my 11:00am Guided tour. Not the case, Calvin was an enthusiast conversationalist and the time flew by😊 it was the right choice to use a personal driver from London and I would use them again. Thank you Calvin and thank you Private Tours of London for an unforgettable trip!

Dean was great! We had a such a memorable trip, he had great suggestions to add to our trip, more than we could have expected!

We enjoyed our Scotland trip with Martin and Wales trip with Peter. They were prompt, professional and very knowledgeable. Their knowledge allowed them to alter stops to things that seemed more interesting to us. Their restaurant suggestions were excellent. Would highly recommend this tour company.

Very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and made traveling and site seeing so relaxing and comfortable, especially with all that we wanted to see in just a few days. He knew where to spend just a few minutes and where to linger based on his experience of the area. He even added a few extra stops he thought we’d enjoy after getting to know us. Highly recommend. First class all the way!

Everything promised was delivered, with our expectations exceeded. The guides and drivers were all timely, friendly, informative and willing to accommodate our pace. When the guide and the location security staff are on a first name basis, you know you are with an insider. London can be crowded with long waits, but we never experienced any of that. Being inside the glass at the Cabinet War Rooms, right up next to the map or Churchill's desk, will be a lasting memory. Talk about "in the room where it happened!" Getting to know the people taking us around was as much as part of the experience as the places we walked through. We would use them again.

I enjoyed an excellent day tour of both the Cotswalds and Highgrove. I should first mention that I decided at the last minute to plan this trip. I appreciate that Private Tours put it together for me in just a couple of days. Peter, my tour guide and driver, a university history Professor, was lovely and super knowledgeable. We traveled to all of the locations in a seemless manner and I never felt rushed. I was picked up at my hotel at 9 am. In the morning we toured 3 Cotswald villages, had lunch and drove through several other villages. We made our way to Highgrove Gardens for a mid afternoon tour which lasted for 1.5 hours. From there we returned to London by 7 pm. It was such a treat to do this. I highly recommend it!

Overall the experience was amazing! The tours were well arranged and the tour guides knowledgeable and accommodating. We traveled with my elderly mother and the company arranged for her to have an electric wheelchair for the duration of our England and Scotland tour. Dean was our driver/ local tour guide/ comedian/ caretaker and anything else that we needed while we were in England. I have to say that Dean made the whole trip so much more fun; he especially made my mother feel at ease and comfortable! We will miss him! Alan was our driver in Scotland and he too made the trip much more enjoyable! The only reason I am giving the trip an overall 4 instead of 5 is because 2 out of four of our accommodations were not at the level that we had expected and we had to change accommodations after checking in and taking a look around the hotels. The company did reimburse us for the first mishap, we are still waiting to hear about the second time.
