This should be a great product in principle, sadly it is for me - rural area with ok reception the app takes so long to connect the dog had already escaped our 800 yard driveway and was already on the road before it connected - constantly telling me low or no coverage. I need a unit that will stay on the dog all day as he is out in the garden and paddocks all day but the battery doesn’t last a day then takes hours to recharge - real shame as interaction with customer service has been good but not fit for purpose for my tracking needs

Excellent Product and Customer Service
I first got my PitPat free through my dog insurance with waggel, and within the first week absolutely fell in love with it. It allows me to make sure my dogs are getting the right amount of exercise for their specific breed, age and weight. I also personally think keeping track of these things is really cool and fun. I am saving up for the gps tracker PitPat which will allow me to know my dogs location at all times. I have recently had a issue with one of my dogs pitpat, the team at pitpat are really friendly(i especially like the dog related puns that they involved in their emails) and when they couldnt identify why my pitpat was acting up they are sending me a new one free of charge, with a free return of my old pitpat so they can try and figure out what went wrong to help future users. Cannot reccomend pitpat enough.

AVOID if you live in the countryside! Bought in November for a farmdog who is partial for going missing - we are in a rural area with what is supposed to be good reception - always 5g on phones - but this tracker has NEVER worked!! Every time you open the app, you are constantly faced with ‘not in coverage’ even if she is on the farm, let alone missing!
Also, aside from the tracker itself, we have found very poor customer service. I raised this as an issue to the Pit Pat customer service via email and have received no response (5 days and waiting).
Would not recommend.

I'm sorry to hear you have had so many issues with your device in regards to the live-tracking and the device losing contact with HQ. This does sounds like it could be network related and it would be great to look into this further for you.
In regards to our response time, we always aim to reply within 24-48 hours and are available 7 days a week 9-5pm via telephone. If our reply isn't in your junk/spam folder that is strange! I have requested more information from you. If you could please reply to this request with your details, I can then locate your account and see what has happened.

It would be great if you could reach out to us at help@pitpatpet.com and we can look into this further for you. I would also recommend selecting Start A Walk before heading out on any adventures. When you then use Find My Dog, you should find it much quicker.

I’ve used Pit Pat on my dog Loki for almost a year now and can certainly recommend it and have done to a lot of dog owners we’ve met. I use it to see how much daily exercise Loki has which is really addictive!
The customer service is amazing too.
When I’ve ordered items they arrive by next delivery day.

Would have given 5stars except the battery doesn't last very long - probably 3 days, before needing a recharge.

Looking at your logs, it does seem like the device is sitting on a network that can cause it to drain slightly quicker. However, this may be the strongest network in the area.

Really wanted to love this but….
Really wanted to love this but have used it twice in 2 years, its pretty useless for me unfortunately. We live in a rural area and although we have good signal (3 or 4 bars of 4G), the unit reports constant very slow signal. Rarely can we find a satellite (no tall buildings or trees nearby). When it does randomly connect, it only shows the dogs location every few minutes- I need a live location to find him (maybe this is possible when you ‘start a walk’ but Ive never been able to find signal and gos to do this). I also need geofencing so im altered when he leaves our land. There are cheaper products out there which live locate and geofence so this priduct was wasted money for me.
Shame, lovely branding and customer service- a pitpat 2.0 is needed

Rarely gets a signal
Rarely get a signal to track my dog on any of the walks I do even when I have a good phone signal and internet on my phone. Pretty pointless fo me really.

I'm sorry to hear you are having a poor experience so far with your tracking. I can see you have reached out to us, but unfortunately we never heard back from you.
I've taken a look at your logs and there are a few things you can try to improve things.
Please click on your dog's profile photo and scroll down to Adjust Settings. You can then swap this to Urgent.
Before heading out on any adventures, we would recommend selecting Start A Walk. I normally do mine around 5 minutes before leaving the house. So that, when you do need to use Find My Dog, you should find it much quicker. Just remember to End A Walk when you return in order to preserve the battery.
