Absolutely amazing app
Absolutely amazing app — I’m genuinely so pleased I started using the Pie Tax app! It’s incredibly easy to use and makes tracking all my income and expenses simple and stress-free.
What really stood out to me is their customer support — super quick to respond and always kind, polite, and helpful. I also used their accountant service to file my tax return, and the whole process was fast and seamless. My tax assessment was submitted within just a few days, and I didn’t have to send loads of documents separately because everything was already stored in the app.
This was especially important for me as I’m in the process of looking to buy a property — having everything filed so quickly made a huge difference. I was able to keep my mortgage broker in the loop, and the whole process felt smooth, efficient, and stress-free.
It honestly saves so much time and effort. You can use it freely, pay monthly, or pay in one go for tax return support — so there are options for everyone.
Overall, a great experience — 10/10. I’d highly recommend it!

Fraud Company – Took Our Editing Money and Never Paid Us
Fraud company. They took our payment for video editing services and never paid us. We are owed 4 months of payment, and they still haven’t cleared the dues. They are not replying to our messages and are completely ghosting us.
It’s a shame for a big company to behave like this. I never expected this from them.
If anyone needs proof, please inbox us — we are ready to share it.

We’re sorry to hear you’re feeling frustrated. However, from our records, the work delivered did not fully meet the agreed scope and deliverables outlined in the original agreement.
We made several attempts to communicate the outstanding items required to complete the project, but these remain unresolved. As per the terms of the agreement, final payment is contingent upon full and satisfactory delivery of the agreed work.
We remain open to working with you to resolve the outstanding points so this matter can be concluded fairly and professionally.

The 2 stars are because eventually, after 3 months, they technically provided a self-assessment return draft... but tha experience was horrible.
I get that they were busy and all (maybe think about that before taking my money), but I explicitly told them that I didn't want them to wait until the very last week because I also have my job and personal situation; and I needed to review everything, provide any corrections and pull the money into the right account to pay.
Everyone to their own and maybe trusting a random company to deliver 5 days before the deadline is good enough for you.... my levels of stress made me hire a popular UK alternative who cost me THE SAME and delivered BEFORE THEM, taking just 4 days for the entire process and communicating me warnings and questions effectively (the alternative company; not Pie, sorry)
The app-ONLY experience is also not my cup of tea, in general, but even less when the app is not perfect and it lacks clarity on what services you already hired. It kept offering upgrades on top of the chat window, all the time, even when I was on the medium tier already.
The "Date of experience" is when I got my draft; the documents were sent to them 3 months before and I never got any proactive updates (imagine 3 months chasing and fully trusting that you'll be saved on the last minute by someone that you don't know at all)
Closing: I'm sure that they made an effort and had great intentions; the number on the draft made sense and surely just needed some checks on my part.... but I ended up paying to another provider and the experience is lightyears apart. I can't recommend this service.

I took out a 7 day trial which ended on…
I took out a 7 day trial which ended on the 3rd of February. On the 3rd I tried to cancel the trial to which turned out to be impossible! I phoned, emailed 3 times, tried the in-app chat... nothing! At 2.30om they then charged my account! So Halfway through the 7th day not even the end of a working day and conveniently no one to communicate with as to how to cancel the trial. Even if I did want to use the app, it doesn't fill me with confidence that you could communicate with anyone if you really needed to.
Edit....thank you pie for contacting me and giving me a full refund with no hassle! Very much appreciated.

We’re really sorry for the frustration this caused and for the delay in getting back to you. Unfortunately your messages came through later in the day and outside of our office hours and where not picked up until this morning.
Subscriptions and cancellations are managed directly through the App Store or Google Play via your phone’s subscription settings, which can make things feel unclear when you’re trying to cancel quickly. That said, as you attempted to cancel before your trial ended, our team has approved a full refund as a goodwill gesture, and this has already been processed and should be returning to your bank account shortly.
We completely understand how disappointing this experience felt and we appreciate you raising it, as it helps us improve how clearly we communicate our cancellation process and support availability. - Team Pie

I am really having trouble with team really bad service and I paid for DIFM for me and wife for 2 years that’s 125x4 =500 going to drain no real advise no effort of correcting or missing info even after repeated attempts to correct now look like I have to pay late fees as well.
Update: They have done all the calculation correctly but did on last day. But now overall happy that I dont had to pay late fees.

All sorted before tax deadline.
Edit- following my original 2 star review, the team reached out & corrected the assessment. It’s still unclear what technical error caused the issue to begin with, but it’s all resolved & I managed to submit & pay my self assessment before the deadline.
I can’t fault the follow up assistance, I hope that will be the default for all users in the future before they leave a poor review;)
I was so excited for this app & it syncs with banking app which was really helpful. Sadly fell totally flat when my submission went through to HMRC as 0 & both parties are unable to amend or correct it.
So, left having to submit a paper amendment after literally hours of on hold & ineffective customer support on both parties. Cannot recommend less.

While we’re glad the bank sync worked well for you, we know how stressful it is when a submission goes through to HMRC incorrectly and then leads to hours spent chasing a resolution.
We want to reassure you that we have offered to amend the return for you, free of charge, and are currently in the process of registering as your tax agent. This registration is required by HMRC before we can communicate with them directly about your submission and identify exactly where the issue occurred. In some cases, this can happen if HMRC weren’t expecting a tax return, which can result in it being processed incorrectly.
We’re continuing to work on getting the agent registration in place so we can help get this sorted. In the meantime, please keep an open line of communication with your assistant via your account to avoid further delay. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience - Team Pie

It was absolutely straightforward and easy to use the app. This was also the fastest I have ever been in getting my taxes done. They have done a brilliant job making an intuitive app.

I knew I’d got it wrong when it said…
I knew I’d got it wrong when it said the tax office owed me money on my self assessment. I used the service where pie did my entire taxes for me and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. My workings out were wrong. Very wrong. I’m glad to have let Pie tax catch it before going into HMRC fine territory.

Stress Free Tax Return Help
As someone new to the self-employed world, I found the tax return process quite daunting and had no idea what I could claim as expenses. I signed up for the “We Do It For You” service, where you’re assigned a dedicated tax assistant to guide you through everything. The process has been fast, incredibly informative, and completely took the stress away. The app is very easy to use, and any queries I’ve had have been answered quickly. I honestly can’t recommend this app and service highly enough.
