Bond Finally Released!
The sewer district changed plans and decided they no longer needed a maintenance bond and ordered Viking to release my performance bond. Viking refused to release my bond despite the sewer districts notice of release and clear email communications stating the District does not want the maintenance bond. Viking refused to contact the sewer district to clarify their position or help find a solution in any way. Using Viking means taking the risk everything goes exactly as planned. Any deviations from plan Viking is not a good choice. Caveat emptor.
UPDATE: Spoke to someone else at Viking Bond service and they were much more knowledgeable about what it takes to release my bond. She cleared everything up and took care of my situation. Thank you Cynthia! Updating rating based on additional information. Four stars as it didn't need to be this complicated

We apologize for any confusion in your situation and will continue to work with you regarding this bond.
I am confused about the issue here though. We have spoken to the Water District regarding this situation and had already come to an understanding regarding the maintenance portion of the bond. There is no issue here to be resolved from our point of view. There’s no premium due and the current bond expiration is well into the future, so we’re not pushing up on any deadlines. The Water district has agreed to provide us with evidence of the maintenance bond procured by the other party involved in your project. Once received, your bond can be released. Our obligation to your Performance/Maintenance bond can’t be released without a replacement bond. Once the Water District shows they have a replacement, we can legally release your bond and clear our obligation, this is all in the works already. So again, I’m not sure what the issue is here, everything appears to be progressing as expected. Please contact the agent who has been trying to reach you to make clear the issue. Technically, nothing is required of you to release this bond.

We had a very hard to place account needing a large performance bond and she was eventually able to convince a Carrier to write the risk. Highly Knowledgeable, Professional and great to work with! Amazing Service
In December 2020, It was my first time buying Bond Insurance, and I had no idea what all was involved and how long it generally takes to secure one. I was up against a deadline that another Insurance Company told me that I would not meet. I found Viking Bond Service online and worked with Lynn and Jenn. Both of them were absolutely outstanding and diligent at not only making sure I met my deadline but for much, much less. That was last year, and what a relief that as I renew my Bond insurance, the service and communication is still great!
