I have recently had two cataracts removed along with two new lens insertions at Paragon clinic.
Initially I was apprehensive and anxious about having the procedure.
What I thought would of been a traumatic experience was actually made so easy and relaxing here !!
The Consultant and staff are all extremely professional, experienced, knowledgeable, reassuring and friendly.
As an RGN with over forty years experience myself, I could not speak more highly of my experience here.

after an initial friendly telephone enquiry, resulting in a call back and consultation with Jenny, a quick appointment was made, from the moment I walked in I was greeted with a friendly welcome, I went to have my eyes checked after I was diagnosed with AMD, the whole process was explained as I went through the system by the very knowledgeable and professional Jenny, nothing scary or painful happened, Jenny is so kind and patient, I would not hesitate to recommend the Paragon Clinic and would attend again if needed, thank you to the team

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and make you feel relaxed as much as possible before your procedure and tests
I had a complex lens requirement and had been to numerous clinics over the last few years who were unable to help.
Paragon were able to do so and the results are fantastic with great follow up work including a small clearup using the YAG laser which no extra charge was involved

After having had some rather confusing advice from another specialist it was a relief and a pleasure to meet a specialist who was prepared to take the time to go through all of my concerns and discuss each issue clearly and in depth. Mr Jenyon could not have been more helpful. The rest of the staff were also very kind and helpful, which made the whole experience very relaxed. I have no hesitation in recommending this clinic.

I had been under NHS care for Glaucoma for over 20 years and received no better treatment than six-monthly pressure checks and dispensing of eye drops. During this time my visual fields deteriorated and the intra-ocular pressures got less controlled. Fearing progressive blindness I decided to attend the Paragon Clinic where I was seen by Mrs Ranjit, the specialist in Glaucoma. She expressed immediate concern and talked about intervention (there and then) with laser treatment to try and open the eye's drainage channels. While this did assist in pressure reduction for a period, it was clear that a more radical intervention was required. I had cataracts which had swollen and increased the internal eye pressures so Mrs Ranjit recommended a combined procedure to replace the lenses and create flaps to allow the eyes to expel excess fluid. The operations were undertaken separately, with a two-month gap, and performed under general anesthetic. The intra-ocular pressures have reduced significantly and the new lenses are a revelation, especially having had to wear glasses for the last 57 years. Throughout the process the staff at the Paragon have been superb and Mrs Ranjit in particular, has been most attentive and professional throughout, demonstrating the highest level of skill and expertise.

After weeks of research I went with Paragon eye clinic over a high street brand after weighing up costs, tine, experiences and questions asked. My experience of Paragon eye clinic at Shrewsbury was excellent on all visits. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly the whole time. The surgeon, Mr Jenyon
(Consultant Ophthalmologist) was first class and gave me a most realistic opinion and outcomes. The surgery was explained, fairly quick and pain free (IOL). My eye sight now is far, far better than hoped and is truly life changing. I would vigorously recommend

It was my wife's Carols first visit to the Paragon Clinic being nervous and worried it came as a pleasant surprise.
The reception was relaxed comfortable all the staff went out of their way to put Carol at ease.
All the staff, nurses and consultant were friendly and very knowledgeable she felt completely comfortable.

The whole team at the Paragon Clinic were friendly and professional. Thank you all so much for the excellent treatment and care my husband received. He was a little nervous, but the lovely nurses soon put him at ease. I had an appointment on the next business day with a consultant opthalmologist. I didn't need a GP's referral, just all my papers and medications. I had also called another clinic at The Priory but they had taken over four days to respond and the appointment wasn't till the following week and only in the evening with a GP referral required. The receptionist was warm, knowledgeable, efficient and the service continued to be excellent when I arrived on the Monday. The nurses were kind, friendly, cheerful, thorough and super efficient, asking lots of questions and explaining what they were doing in all the tests. I only had to wait twenty minutes after the tests. The consultant Mr Jenyon had a very thorough grasp of my complex issues and reinstated medication my previous consultant had removed without reason. He also gave me much hope and outlined a detailed plan for progress. I felt much more confident when I left, particularly with regards to my capacity for contacts if the treatment went well. The professionalism was so much superior to my previous doctor in Birmingham and I am already much improved due to the medication. Poor vision is a terrifying experience and the staff at Paragon made me feel less alone and supported.

Wonderful staff, so kind and caring - even remembered me by name after two weeks! The attention I received before, during and after surgery was second to none, and the results of the surgery were beyond my expectations. Cannot recommend Paragon Clinic of Shrewsbury too highly!!

Excellent and professional staff look after you from start to finish. The most thorough and hi tech eye examination to optimise the treatment plan and then superb cataract surgery from Mr Jenyon. I was amazed by the result and will return with out hesitation to have the other eye done.

A friendly, flexible and thoroughly efficient service with the staff making me feel at home as I took the various eye tests culminating in the surgeon performing the one cataract I needed treating. Now three weeks after the operaion I have once again the pleasure of perfect lonsigtedness. Thorougly recommend the Paragon

An appointment was organised with Paragon within 24 hours of my optician's referral. On the day all of the staff were most helpful and went out of their way to put me at my ease. I only needed one eye treating but when/if the other requires treatment I will have no hesitation in contacting Paragon.

Overall it was an efficient service completed in 60 minutes from entering and leaving the clinic

I contacted Paragon Clinic as my optician informed me of a problem with my right eye post cataract op by a different outsourced NHS firm. From the moment I entered the clinic I felt welcome the staff are brilliant the way they put you at ease. Mr Jenyon makes a thorough examination of your eyes and explains what is needed. I had laser treatment which took about 10 minutes which was totally painless and 10 minutes after the treatment the sight in my right was fantastic. I have nothing but praise for the staff at Paragon they are brilliant.

From the minute my husband and I entered the clinic we were treated with kindness and given the closest attention by every single member of staff. I was extremely apprehensive about having laser surgery, mainly because of a health condition I thought could have been affected. Mr Jenyon explained the process in minute detail and answered every question, allaying my fears.The process turned out to be painless and without any complications. I’m more than grateful for the care I received.

My experience was nearer 5 than 4 so have rated 5. Overall treatment very good and excellent results as others have said. Only reservation is lack of information on managing period between first op and new glasses. eg may help to remove one lens of glasses, buy cheap reading glasses (£1 99!. ) If you have have worn glasses al your life eye protection likely needed at times - safety glasses or over-glasses (Screwfix etc). Had to discover these things myself.

Firstly I want to say a massive "Thank you" to everyone at Paragon for the way in which I was treated from Day One. Sometimes it is very difficult to admit to a complete stranger how anxious and nervous you are and even worse admitting you have "white coat syndrome" but literally within minutes of sitting down with Laura at the first consultation, before the tests began, I felt completely comfortable in admitting my fears and was able to ask numerous questions, of which there were many, while feeling totally at ease and not in the least bit "silly". This was the case throughout my treatment with all the staff whose knowledge, professionalism, patience and caring understanding never wavered. This really helped me prepare mentally for surgery. On the day of surgery, before going into theatre, Mr Jenyon came to collect me. I had every confidence in him and felt safe. When he asked me if I was ready, I surprised myself how ready I was. It has been some months since my initial surgery and I have purposely waited to leave a review. To start with the staff are all superb, you really could not ask for a more lovely bunch of people. Professional courteous and uber caring, especially if your a bit nervous. After my surgery I have had a lot of dry eye issues all of which is clearly stated before surgery and I required additional laser treatment which again is clearly stated during consultation stage. But now after the 3 to 4 months since my initial surgery my sight is just amazing, I needed glasses for reading, working, shopping and driving - now no glasses at all. Seems a long road for recovery with the post surgery irritations, but the end result is amazing. I would 100% recommend Paragon and a big thanks to Mr Jenyon, Jenny, Laura and Kaye for holding my hand (literally) along this journey.
