I have always liked buying paint at The Paint Well due to the variety of brands available. I had an issue with my paint order at The Paint Well, and this was resolved by a manager there who went above and beyond to ensure I remain a satisfied customer. Thank you again, more than I can say!

Stuck on Sat morning cos my usual place had a broken machine that mixed my paint . Found this place on the internet and called in . Such friendly, helpful staff , and an amazing shop , has every Paint brand going and everything you’d need for decorating . Will certain be returning

The Lady there called Sue was very helpfull and done her best on giving me advise on what I might need to carry out a job that I was doing. I went in the Preston depot about 4 times and even at 7am sue was there and very proffesional, polite and helpfull.

This is regarding the red haired lady working in the Kendal branch, it is not a reflection on the company.

We arrived today at 11:59am, they were just about to close which I knew. We were just gonna grab paint and knew what we needed so would have been fast. As we walked in the door we were met with “WE ARE CLOSED” 3 times. This lady wouldn’t let us speak and was disgracefully rude. If she had said in a polite manner the tills are closed I would have been fine with that but she was rude while people were still in the store.
I would never tolerate someone like her to deal with customers.

I was charged £43 today for 2.5litres of Jasmine white emulsion in the Stamford branch. This is normally around £23 elsewhere, but was the nearest store to me. I never thought it would be that much and was completely shocked, and unfortunately because they mix it for you especially I didn’t feel I could refuse payment. I will certainly never visit again. This is a total rip off.

My review is for the Sevenoaks branch, who in my opinion are rip off merchants, not paint merchants! My decorator assured me he could get the masonry paint for my bungalow cheaper. However, that proved not to be the case. He was charged £48.98 by PaintWell for a 5L tin of Sandtex Retail Microseal Fine Textured masonry paint in Plymouth Grey (product code on invoice AP37075F). He ran out towards the end so I googled to see where we could get it locally. It was available in Wickes for £28 (a special offer reduced from the RRP price of £35). When I spoke to PaintWell she told me the code was for a tin of trade paint, but it isn't trade paint (it doesn't mention "trade" anywhere on it) and it is exactly the same tin as the one bought in Wickes for just over £20 less. She insisted that companies can charge differently for the same product. Yes, maybe £5 a tin I would accept but not to the tune of £20 a tin. I cannot speak for other branches but I would avoid this one at all costs. I hope my decorator finds a different store for his future purchases.

Got paint mixed in to the desired colour at the Handforth branch. Got it home and the colour was not mixed properly and still was streaky with it's component colours. Took it back and they said it was fine and we would need to mix it. Utter nonsense, never had to mix the colours together of a brand new tin. After arguing they did another but said it would likely be the same. We have always used them for all our paint. Never again.

I visited the Chelmsford store and was greeted by Sonia who was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Sonia offered to make up a test pot for me to try at home which was perfect and when I returned she remember me and I purchased my paint. Service with a smile is appreciated and I will certainly recommend PaintWell , Sonia is a credit to your company.

I was extremely disappointed with the service I received during my recent visit to this paint shop. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the staff had no interest in helping customers. I was met with one-word answers, a complete lack of enthusiasm, and an attitude that made me feel like I was inconveniencing them just by being there.

I had a few questions about different types of paint and finishes, but rather than offering advice or guidance, the staff member seemed irritated and unbothered. There was no effort to assist me in finding what I needed, no product knowledge shared, and certainly no customer service to speak of. It felt like they simply couldn’t be bothered.

The overall atmosphere in the store was miserable. The staff looked disinterested and unhappy to be there, which made the entire experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming. As someone who was ready to make a purchase and support a local business, I left feeling completely let down.

Unfortunately, I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone based on my experience. If the staff don’t want to engage with customers or offer even the most basic level of assistance, then they’re in the wrong business. It’s a shame, because with a bit of effort and friendliness, this could have been a very different experience.

After two telephone calls to the Abergele store to ensure we could get samples of our chosen paints we arrived to find that the base for said samples would not be available until next week. Not ideal if you live next door but really galling if you've made a twenty mile drive for nothing.

Very easy to order. The delivery was as stated. And the packaging was amazing. Would get paint from here again.

I ordered 6 paint samples and paid for each plus delivery, they sent me only 4 without checking with me if it was fine. Now I have to order the missing ones elsewhere and pay for delivery again, which significantly increases cost of each paint sample. Definitely wouldn't trust them with a bigger order.
