AVOID!!!!! This shop at all costs.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced, constant lies and stops replying to emails and Instagram messages too.
Bought a jacket back in September, it was damaged. Agreed on a replacement.. I sent the jacket back special delivery to his store which he received the following day and that’s been since October I have been waiting for him to send me back my replacement jacket. I think I have been scammed by this boy. I doubt I will ever see my money or jacket ever again.
Please avoid this shop.

ive bought 2 shoes from this shop and they have been priced very good and in good quality I recommend all my friends to get their shoes here as I would say it is the best place in Aberdeen to buy shoes

One star is to good for these lot !!!. Ordered my son a CP Company jacket on the 30/11/2022, still haven’t received it . Emailed numerous times … NO REPLY . I then sent them NUMEROUS messages on their Instagram page , just fobbed me off with pathetic excuses , supposed to be sending me a tracking number , not a thing . I don’t even think they even had the jacket to start with , hence why they haven’t sent it & still have £203.00 of my money !!!. Customer service is terrible , next port of call is Trading Standards !

A zero score would be more accurate. Waiting for over a month for payment after trading items with them. The owner keeps on making excuses about not being able to pay - total scam. Do not buy or sell from this crook.

UPDATE: 8 weeks after Overhype receiving the goods they have paid half of the balance. However they are now withholding the other half until I take down this review.

Update #2: still no completed payment from Overhype. A number of false offers of payment from the owner with have came to nothing. The latest being a suggestion to attend the shop to receive payment as they have bank account issues. We tried that before & it didn’t work.

Various offers of payment are frequently made without them actually happening. He has offered to pay extra if I take down the review - no trust in receiving payment so the review stays.

Small claims procedure now begun.

An offer of paying an additional £150 was made by Overhype but like all the others no payment materialised.

No response to the Small Claims Action and so we move onto the next stage.

Worst ‘company’ I’ve had to deal with if that’s what you could call it. All seems like one big farce to me.

Ordered a pair of shoes from them and constantly told that they would get me a tracking number for it to never arrive. Took weeks for them to finally admit the shoes were never sent and then had to chase a refund.

Avoid.

I sold two pairs of Jordan’s to Overhype/Sam and it was an absolute battle to get my money.

I sold them one Saturday after agreeing a price in advance with Sam via Instagram (the way they seem to do business). I was informed that the money would be paid the following Wednesday via bank transfer.

Wednesday came and went and I hadn’t received payment so I queried it with Sam (again, all communication via Instagram) and was informed, like many others have experienced, that there was issues with their business bank account.
I took this at face value and gave Sam a couple of days to rectify but still wasn’t paid on the agreed date. Again, he cited problems with his account and at this stage I started to get suspicious as a business couldn’t be selling items if they didn’t have a functioning bank account.
What followed was four weeks of me chasing Sam and various false promises, lies and excuses as to why I didn’t have my money.
He transferred half of the agreed money but then the other half never followed.
It wasn’t until I posted on Instagram calling out their bad business practices that I was finally paid the full amount (about 5 minutes after posting).

I would advise you don’t sell your goods to this store unless you want a large portion of your life to be taken up with messaging Overhype and Sam to try and get some money. It really is a battle and not a way a business should operate.

There was a story in the local paper stating that Sam hoped to be turning over £3-5 million and expanding to Glasgow and Edinburgh. If he is doing that by defrauding and lying to people then I think this is highly immoral and also unachievable.

Sold 2 items to Sam and was told payment would be on the following Wednesday, no payment was made , I emailed and was told that he would pay the next week and still nothing so I went in to the shop to be told it would be transferred that day and that he would phone me when it was done but surprise surprise still nothing and no phone call, by now I was getting really angry and after lots of emails he told me to come to the shop at 6pm and he would give me cash but then emailed 40 mins before I was due to pick up the cash and said he had to close early as you can imagine I was fuming!! So I told him I wanted the cash the next day or I was going to police and trading standards and eventually I got the cash but it took all in all just under 3 weeks!
All I can say is please don’t sell your clothes to Sam unless you get cash then and there , terrible way to run a business

A few days after writing this honest review Sam emailed me asking me to remove it and if I did then he would either give me a voucher or cash !! And reading other reviews this seems to be something he does , pity he wasn’t as quick to get back to me when he owed me money .

Overhype (Sam ) keeps flagging my review asking for evidence as sam is saying my review is not real , well it is and I have shared some of his emails with them so if you have a bad experience with sam and his shop ( which so many people seem to ) please keep your emails so you can prove it to trustpilot and let potential customers know how they will be treated by Sam and his shop Overhype Aberdeen

Very bad store, the store keeps making excuses on delaying payment, it's been 2 months since I have sent my shoes. The owner, sam rattray keeps delaying and still has not sent over full payment. He tells me to review my bad review and after he'll send payment but I still haven't received my payment after removing bad review!

Sold my son’s AirMax 90’s x off white a while back. Delighted with what Sam offered and most importantly my son was chuffed with the end result.
Keep up the good work guys 🤞🏻

The name of the store fits well, it’s Overhyped.
Do not trust these children whether you are buying, selling or producing for them.
They DO NOT pay.
They DO NOT know how to run a business.
Avoid at all costs.

UPDATE - They are only now, almost a year later asking for more information from me, I will NEVER do business with them again after them owing money for HALF A YEAR. And this will be left up to warn other buyers/sellers about this MAJOR issue as we had to turn up at their store and threaten with the police before receiving any money.

Don’t listen to all these reviews below that have been forced by family and friends. This company is ran terribly by 2 spoilt kids with a lot of help from mummy and daddy.

They haven’t paid me or my mates for weeks now for items we sold instore and I’ve spoke to others and they also haven’t been paid for weeks before and have had to go in and demand the money otherwise they wouldn’t have got it!!

I’ve already reported this company to trading standards and they’ll be conducting a review soon do not do your business here at all. The owner can’t afford to pay people for stuff they’ve sold but can afford to open up a new store 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great customer service- employees always listen to what sort of product you are looking for and make suggestions to what may suit you. A lot of variety in store on shoes and clothes!

Top class streetwear store run by a quality wee group of folk.

Big thanks to Liam, Sam, and the rest of the staff for the quality service. Super friendly guys who knew what they were talking about and helped me find a couple t shirts that I liked and for a good price! Will definitely come back for the quality clothes and service. Cheers from LfcDam

I had a great experience visiting this shop the other weekend, as everyone who works there are all friendly and love a good laugh. Can tell they know what they’re doing! A lot of nice pieces I haven’t seen for a while in stock that caught my eye, definitely be going back again.

It’s so great to see young individuals motivated to grow their own shop, but also grow a community clearly there is something to be had here.

However my only complaint i have is that the tall one farts a lot!! And I mean A LOT!

Bought many items from Overhype, the owners and staff were very helpful and super chatty - it felt like shopping with your friends with the conversation and music. Clothes were affordable and good quality also. Couldn’t recommend higher!
