It's just a fancy looking scam to get you to pay for a BS background check. I'd bet once you pay you don't get the report until they run the "real" report and not the fake one you sit through for 2 minutes.
Their response is equally proving my point. DO NOT click into this website as a normal person. They should offer one-off responses (limited by simple details) to free searches. Assuming everyone wants to pay for something as a one-off is ridiculous. There are free services that work, and paid (I have used paid before and it's 100x faster too). My IVR would ping a number and get carrier/zip/financial-status/home-type. etc. in milliseconds.

What a scam it goes through all these spinning circles and a graph moving like it's actually looking for all the stuff if it really was looking for all the stuff and finding that it says it is it would take hours if not days and then of course you think it's free till you waited around the whole time for it to finish its little show then it wants you to pay. As soon as it started it's a little spiel I knew it was going to charge me. Just go to reverse number lookup.com it's free and actually works.

Waited a long time for the website to “find information” on the number I provided. After it finally loaded, they proceeded to tell me I needed to pay their subscription in order to access that information. I have nothing against people monetizing their service, but you need to make it clear that it is a paid service from the beginning. Nothing on their main web page tells you upfront that you need to pay for it; you have to go through the lengthy process, THEN find out that you need to pay for it. Shady, unethical, deceptive business practices.

The results of a Reverse Phone Search can contain caller id data, phone records data, deep web search and more. Typically, we are able to provide the name of the owner and his or her address, in the full phone report.
If we are not showing some elements of this information in the results of your phone search, then we do not currently have that information for the number in our database. Please know that we are constantly updating and expanding our database to provide the most accurate and current information we possibly can.
When you search a number, we do not provide texts sent or received by that number or call logs for the number. We do not provide the physical location of the phone itself, such as with GPS tracking, etc. The information in our reports comes from public records and this information is not publicly available data.

This is my second time writing about Number Guru!! This is the most dishonest business EVER! In 12/2024 if signed up for $1 trial for 7 day's, found out my flip phone would not work with this. I canceled as soon as I could. I had no use for this app & even less now! They never canceled and kept charging my account $32.72 each month for 6 months! Maybe 7 months. They said they sent my refund and in a couple day's I would get it. Ok, cool. They emailed me the amount of my refund was $65.44 and thought that was generous! I checked with bank and they had only sent me $32.72 !! Can not be trusted at all!! I don't think the truth is in them!! Now they won't respond to me at all !!Said they can't find my account and that it was closed months ago. If they can't find my closed account, why are they taking it from my debit card? A closed account with Number Guru means nothing to them!! Now I want a FULL refund!! I saw just how untrustworthy they are! Will lie about everything! Run from Number Guru and don't look back!

Our records do not show a previous request to cancel after additional investigation of the account. As a result, the account kept renewing the monthly subscription.

We offer multiple hassle-free ways to cancel your account. You are able to cancel online, through email or via live chat.
Additionally, we successfully located your account using the information you provided, along with details from your recent interaction with our customer care team.
Your account has been suspended because we detected either suspicious activity, activity that fell outside our Terms of Service, or received an alert from your financial institution.
NumberGuru suspended the account for your protection; recent charges amounting $66.38 have been returned to your credit card.

Pure fraud website operaring in India…
Pure fraud website operating in India with a fake addres. It pretends to he looking up the info with real time feedback (the same info shown for everything you check, such as “looking up photos of person having the number, looking up social media profiles” etc. What a joke. It just a JavaScript timer that does nothing. Then they try to scam your credit card number. Don’t give it them! They will keep charging monthly - and they may cancel it on request only to not be reported as fraud by Visa, but they are a fraud - their actual service doesn’t exist and is a scam service just designed to get your card. They od course reply to reviews like this, and claim to cancel, and add as many fake positive reviews they have time for. Try using your own number to test snd they will of course also give a fake person, or say it is a scam number - because their service itself is 100% fraudulent.

I used it to look up A number and didn’t sign up for auto renewal. Discover found you had been charging me for almost two years at 29.99 per month! Discover finally canceled the “subscription” that was never asked for and it WAS made sure that it never went passed 7 days and when disputed you refunded 6 out of 18+ months! So by refunding you have ultimate admitted responsibility for taking my money and I want my remaining $476.67! I was given an email address for your account review department but your customer service representative disconnected me before finishing the email address. When signing up for our background reports we do outline that this is a subscription plan and will auto-renew until elected to cancel. This is a term that has to be agreed to before an account is created. This account was closed due to a requested chargeback from Discover. At this time, we are locked out of transactions and any additional refunds would need to be requested from your financial institution.
