Steeped in Hebridean history, but always forward thinking, our family run distillery in the Outer Hebrides produces some of Scotland’s very finest artisan spirits including the multi award winning Downpour Gin range and our soon to launch Nunton Whisky.

Say hello to Downpour Scottish Dry Gin. Citrus, spice and blossoms of wild Hebridean heather. Our special Scottish Gin is bursting with botanicals, drenching you in big bold flavours you can taste in every drop. Also available in Pink Grapefruit and Sloe and Bramble editions, in our custom designed, environmentally friendly bottle.
Nunton Steadings
Built way back in the 1700s, the beautifully historic Nunton Steadings building is the place we call home. Situated in Benbecula, right at the heart of island life, it’s where we proudly bring Whisky production back to our islands. Currently under restorations work, our B-listed building is undergoing some loving attention to bring it back to bustling island life.

Ordered the Downpour Rum as a Christmas…
Ordered the Downpour Rum as a Christmas gift for my stepdad. Really great service with the speed of dispatch and the quality of the protective packaging. Also came with a nice handwritten note wishing me a merry Christmas.
The rum itself looks brilliant, and it looks like a lovely gift (that I hope I get to try for myself).

Excellent afternoon spent at the distillery tasting all the gins while on holiday. Favourite has to be the
Sloe and Bramble. Post holiday and the online service was excellent. Everything well packaged and delivered well in time for Xmas.

Wonderful gin, beautifully packaged.
My niece sent me a bottle of the sloe and bramble gin for Christmas. Beautifully packed, a lovely handwritten card with the message from my niece (made it feel so personal) and the gin is just gorgeous! I will add the (soon to be empty) bottle to my downpour collection (I have a green bottle with fairy lights in for Xmas).

Great Gins & Whisky!
Great Guest House No 1 blended malt whisky augurs well for the future when the spirit coming from Nunton's stills has matured. We've had a variety of great gins from NUD - regular, coast and croft, sloe and bramble and negroni and enjoyed two great tours of the distillery. The staff are most helpful with any questions and special requests and really made us feel at home! We've loved it so much that our family has clubbed together in a new venture to buy a cask!

Superb!
I ordered spiced rum and Downpour gin and they arrived all the way from the Outer Hebrides to west Wales in only four days. Beautifully packaged, beautiful bottles, hand written note, coasters, information and cocktail recipe card. A card on the bottle even tells you where the heather for the gin was foraged. I can't wait to try these over Christmas and one day I must visit! Many thanks.

Excellent derive and delicious sloe gin.
Excellent, fast and efficient service from North Uist Distillery. I drink my Downpour sloe and bramble gin in a shot glass over a cube of ice. Very refreshing! It gives me pleasure to support businesses in the Outer Hebrides, rather than my local supermarket in South West England.

Hello. We stayed in Loch Rannoch but visited the wonderful deli village store in Kenmore. I asked if they could recommend a good gin as we had run out. Without hesitation, we were introduced to Downpour Gin. It really is smooth, with a lovely taste. Highly recommend you try this. Viv
