User friendly website and people
I needed to retrieve some personal belongings from France and I was struggling to book the required arrangements with other couriers. The NI website worked for me and when I needed some guidance on customs paperwork I was able to ring NI where a nice guy helped me get sorted. Whole process was user friendly and worked well.

A dreadful experience
NI Parcels website and booking process were clear and easy to follow, hence one star. However, we sent 15 boxes, all of which were very securely packed and all of which were broken apart and so badly treated the delivery people were embarrassed to deliver them (we sent a similar consignment with Royal Mail a few months ago and all of them arrived in perfect condition). We sent NI Parcels photos of the broken boxes and shattered kitchenware (which filled an entire blanket) and have only been offered a derisory £50 in compensation. I have read their reply below. The items were extremely well packed and individually sealed with the boxes reinforced with tape, but no amount of ‘appropriate packaging’ can withstand the battering - they were virtually destroyed - which 15 out of the 16 boxes experienced. NI Parcels are well aware of this because they have seen the photos of the damaged boxes. It is also dishonest to say we ‘selected £50 cover’ - as their additional insurance does not cover anything that is breakable.

Dear Rosemary, I can see you were sending items to France from N. Ireland with FedEx. I am very sorry if there was any damage. Any form of damage is extremely rare if items are packaged correctly. As you mentioned we do have compensation cover in place, at booking you will select the level of cover you require, so if you selected £50 cover that will be the amount due as per the terms and conditions.
I understand it was crockery you sent, this type of item is very fragile and would need to be individually packaged, from the provided photos it looks like plates and other crockery was sent all together, if any of these items can hit off each other it will increase the chance of damage. It is very important to package items appropriately. Once again I am very sorry for any issues with your shipment. I can see you are in email communication with one of my colleagues, if there is anything we can help with just let us know.

First time using the company. Sending a large box to Scotland. Value of contents £800. Waited in all day for the collection and no one showed up. Very dissappointed.

The DPD driver on your route had to leave unexpectedly due to severe illness and this is what caused your collection to fail. We are sorry about this. We can see this has been rebooked for another collection for today the 22nd of July with your chosen courier.
