Its a standout community hub, offering an exceptional experience for young people aged 12 to 21. It provides a safe and vibrant environment where kids can grow, learn, and socialise. My 17 year old son absolutely enjoys going to the centre every week. Its packed with equipment and spaces designed to cater to every interest: It has a pool table, dedicated space for Xbox, PlayStation, arts and crafts. A full kitchen for regular cooking sessions. Modern facilities for podcasting, filmmaking, and DJing, giving aspiring creators a platform for their voices. A fantastic and inclusive environment.

Love ngda, Sangita is so warm and welcoming and genuinely caring. It feels like such a safe and comforting space where everyone is accepted. All the people there are great and truly committed to being helpful. They always keep your interests in mind and provide you with opportunities tailored to you. It's an amazing place that's open to all while also being mindful of everyone's specific needs.

I've had incredible experiences thanks to NGDA, like attending unique events such as the hot box Chelmsford carnival. That's where I had the thrill of doing my very first live show, and it was truly unforgettable. I eagerly look forward to what exciting occasions the future holds!

Sangita is amazing. I work in a 16-18 year old semi-independent placement where I support 16-18 year old care leavers. Sangita and NGDA have offered many of our young people great opportunities and support, and even the most unlikely young people engage really positively with her. It's great for the young people to have these connections and informal/external support, she really knows what she's doing, a really lovely and inspiring lady.

I was lucky enough to be a part of the event at hotbox (reggae night) and I was so taken aback by all the talented people and the amazing food… it was an impressive culture shock at the wide range of diversity that was at the event that night I am extremely impressed with the NGDA

It is a great thing they are doing for the community

I was fortunate to be a part of (Choose Your Chill) which took place at Oaklands Park. I must say I was very impressed with the number of talented performers which consisted of all ages. It was also good to see so many people from different cultures and backgrounds attend and take part in the event. I feel this was a good example from Sangita and NGDA in bringing people together in unity.

Choose Your Chill event was great and saw a lot of Chelmsford’s residents appreciating different cultures! A day full of amazing food, resources & entertainment!

It's the community feeling and working together that was a massive impact. Seeing, young, elderly and children laughing, smiling, talking and participating together was wonderful. The diversity I saw was major for me. There was just a postive buzz. NDGA is making such an impact in the Chelmsford community. As a black community member whose parents moved to Chelmsford in the late 50's I have never experienced this, it makes me have hope for the Chelmsford community in general but especially for the young. I hope NDGA gets the support they need to continue their work.

I was one of the performers. I was welcomed with an incredibly warm Imbrace by everyone and it was lovely. The other performers were incredible. The people working behind the scenes were incredible and I would absolutely love to do it again. The venue was easy find and navigate all around a very well organised and very enjoyable experience

Great music, great people, great food and just all around amazing vibes and an amazing way to introduce people to new cultures and ways of life.

NGDA IS NEEDED FOR ESSEX
For minorities that don’t feel completely accepted you now know that you are not alone. All races come together as one as it should be, you make new friends and indulge in peoples cultures and when it comes to the security as well as the stalls and performances you feel safe.

NGDA is an extremely valuable organisation based in Chelmsford Essex, with a wide range of community networking projects under its belt. Whilst its main focus is on young people, the scope of its expertise is truly an assest to the Eastern region. Run by Sangitta Mitra, her passion for racial harmony and integration shines through all domains of the work she engages in. Undoubtedly a strength, is the database she has painstakingly collated over the years, through the people she has impacted. Truly an incredible outfit.
