Thanks to Daniel and the team at Newdawn Solar. Really happy with the system. I went with Newdawn because Daniel was the only one who really listened and worked to provide the system I wanted. The installation team also went the extra mile to complete a tidy professional installation of a new to them ac coupled enphase system. Thanks for the great review Gordon! I always enjoy working with customers to achieve the best possible solution. You obviously had some very specific requirements and had done a lot of research which made things interesting and it was great to work the new Enphase battery system into our repertoire. It just highlights how this sector is evolving around smart Tariffs with higher charge/discharge rates, plus of course the EPS.

Finally, the installers could have utilised more of the roof space by trying different angles for the panels to get more on.

Thanks for the kind words Leo and I totally understand your frustrations with the GivEnergy Inverter. You do actually have the latest Gen 3 version which if you recall I upgraded for you free of charge. This had been introduced during the timeframe between the original quote and the installation.
The issue with your inverter was not the fact that it was Gen 1,2 or in your case 3 but the Firmware updates that GivEnergy introduced late last year. This was a huge issue which is very well documented on all of the forums and one which proved hugely frustrating for you and many customers, not to mention us installers late last year. In your case and in the case of a handful of other customers we spent days working with GivEnergy to get these issues resolved as we did in your case. Something which I know you recognise and something which I pride myself on.
Having said that, GivEnergy have worked very hard to rectify these firmware issues and I like many others still maintain that they are among the best systems and indeed companies in this space.
I'm a little surprised reference your comment regarding additional panels I must confess. There was and is no 'legal' way to have more panels on the available roof space. Had we flipped the panels to landscape there would (and I distinctly remember it) have been 25cm of available roof space both top and bottom. Legally we are required to leave 30cm at the top and 30cm at the bottom so not only would this have gone against both building and MCS regulations but it would have meant that any rain would have overshot your guttering with some very obvious and potentially serious repercussions. Regrettably, this can make it look like there is quite a bit of available space as you are dropping over 50cm just by flipping the panel.
It can be frustrating when you are limited in the number of panels that you can have but I will not put my name to an installation which isn't compliant or one that could cause problems for the customer with the sale of the property down line.
I hope that now, with all of the Firmware issues resolved and indeed with Summer on the way you will start to see the real benefit of the system installed and as always if there is anything we can do assist you please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Excellent Service and System.
My wife and I had been considering Solar Panels for a few years and started looking when the prices went up in 2022. We met with a handful of companies but for whatever reason didn’t press ahead with the installation. Having now decided to get an Electric Car we thought the time was right to and contacted New Dawn Solar along with three other companies. Two of the other companies came in at a similar price with one quote wanting almost £2,000 more. We chose New Dawn Solar in the end as they seemed particularly professional and really took the time to answer our questions. The installation was pretty straighforward and the communication was excellent throughout. The system has been up and running for several weeks now with no issues and has been generating well even with the awful weather in March. Overall, we are very pleased and are making a noticeable saving on our energy already. When asked to provide a review by Daniel we were only too happy to oblige and have already referred him and his team to some friends.
