I've been a student at Newcastle College for 2 years I'm going into my 3rd year and every time I've enrolled it's been organized well and staff have been polite however I was and am outraged by my enrollment process yesterday.

I had been emailed a date and time of an appointment to enroll however I could not make this day or time. I was emailed with alternative dates and times to go. I decided as I was at college for an appointment I'd enroll the same day to save myself traveling two separate days.

As I was at the college I waited in a queue to have my maths and English grades checked however after that I was sent to level 9 parsons building to start the enrollment process. I didn't have to wait but as I was being seen by the lady who was enrolling me said she couldn't enroll me as I was a progression student this confused me as the email stated I had an appointment to enroll on the 31st at 2 pm so how was it I could enroll 31st but not the 30th I then was told I couldn't enroll till next week which was the week beginning the 4th September I then was told I could enroll on the 1st of Sept but then was told I can't be enrolled till next week. This made me outraged because it was clear they had no clue and they were just making it up on the spot.

I was sent away and I headed home got on the metro off at Seburn Sunderland and then received a phone call from my mam who had contacted the college they had said I shouldn't have been sent away I should have been able to enroll so by this point I was very fed up as I'd been at the college from 10:30 am and had that call from my mam just after 1 pm

I decided to go back to the college which meant I had to get back on the metro from Seaburn back up to Newcastle which was very unnecessary because when I went back to college I went back to level 9 same room and saw the lady who told me I couldn't enrole spoke to her she said it's not up to us it's up to the staff on level 10 as they may or may not send you away as progression students enroll next week however earlier when I spoke to her she said first day is Monday 4th and induction is Friday 1st so this frustrated me because I'd have missed basically 2 days maybe more.

I then was seen by another lady who started the process and it took less than 5 minutes which seriously made me think why do I want to go to Newcastle College when they have messed me about on enrolling me I then was finished and to go up to level 10 to do the last part of enrollment I had a 2hr wait by that point I was very outraged because it was around 16:00 when I was able to enroll and I mentioned it to the lady there she was very confused why I was sent away she apologized on her behalf but I thought no because it wasn't your fault it was the others who just simply didn't want to do their job!!!!

On another note besides this awful experience, I have had nothing like it in the 2 years I've been there and can say even with how awful they handled my enrollment I'd still recommend Newcastle College because it provides very good support in different areas and the set up Besides enrolling is to good standards.

Yesterday afternoon around pm 3.20, I was driving with my husband next to this college which outside of fire station , There was a boy passing by and turned around raised the middle finger at us with no reason, and shouted fxxking and chinese something under his breath for few times, I open the car window and asked him what did you said to me ? but he still swearing and shown me his middle finger . I got out the car shouted him come back and asked him what he just said and called me then 3 college boys suddenly interfered and support that boy even verbal abuse me and my husband . It is nothing to do with your age and doesn't matter how old you are ,....disgusting!

Paedophilia, noncery, sodomy, necrophilia, satanism, you name it. everything has happed at Newcastle college. don't even get me started about the wrenched smell coming from The Hole...

My son was totally let down by this college. No support, tutors not turning up and this was a level 4 course. Total waste of money as he didn't get to finish the course. My advice choose a different college.

Terrible teaching staff in beauty department they talk to adult student so nasty and threat them very badly . I quitted the course due to the way level 3 teacher talk to me and treat me at begging of my course and didn’t consider adults coming to college have kids and have responsibilities. Lack of her understanding put me off educating my self with such a people . College done nothing about it they losing good students like me.they gave me wrong start date with a leaflet saying wrong date and wrong room number no apologies in fact I got told if donot come I get dumped out of the course (exact words) DO NOT GO to Newcastle college for beauty therapy course

This place is an absolute wreck, tutor's will gaslight you to hell and back, you'll be ridiculed and mocked if you slip up the slightest amount and staff use intimidation to keep students in check, adults are treated like children and verbally abused and counts of racism, homophobia, transphobia etc are often overlooked, despite how diverse the college looks.

An awful experience with this college from start to finish

I have been enrolled on the FdSc counselling skills and therapeutic communication course to become a qualified counsellor. In one year I have experienced discrimination from the finance department, a data beach of my personal information, bullying and victimisation by a course tutor and a qualified counsellor and all around unprofessional behaviour by staff. I highly recommend that if you want to get a qualification, DO NOT enrol at Newcastle College. I used the complaints procedure which was met with denial of the issues raised, it is obvious most of the staff do not care about students having a great supportive experience. there are some good staff in the college that do care but these are very few in an educational organisation when the main issues of my complaint are so severe.

The course is not great either as it is taught using a lot of false information which has caused a lot of stress for myself and other students because no one knew what they were meant to be doing due to a tutor that says one thing then comes back the next week with something good else adding confusion to modules.

My daughter has a learning disability and takes her a while to settle in and take things in .she was studying preforming arts at this college and the teacher vicky burn decided that my daughter wasn't good enough after 4 weeks my daughter started self harming because this teacher was a bully I picked my daughter up and she decided to go for a beauty course but this teacher decided that she hadn't already done enough damage to my daughters health and gave my daughter a bad reference so then she got rejected from this course and she then went months without her education and then started shel harming again talking about kicking a disabled child while there down this teacher is disgusting and when I flagged it up with the college they have decided that this is acceptable. Please be careful sending your children hear as its not in your child's best interests at this college but it's the teacher best interests that only matters to them the teachers are bully's

I studied here for 2 and a half years. It is what's known as a predatory college, the government pays for children's courses handsomely and they simply want this money. I encourage you to look into such institutions before you allow your children to come here or study here yourself.

The environment is not fit for young adults, here are some example of what occurs:
- Drug and alcohol abuse within the College. I was offered drugs many times.
-Tutors use intimidation to control students.
-Abusive teachers will shout at the students, they will ridicule them and get away with it.
-If you have learning difficulties, even the most minor, they will point them out and demand it is fixed.
-I know this sounds ridiculous, there were boxing matches in the back of the classroom. The fights were motivated by race. They were ignored.

The College left me worse off than when I had came. I feel it has made me into a delinquent.

The only redeeming quality of this College is the diversity of the students, their are many interesting people from interesting places. However, if you study here you will almost certainly regret it.

The learning disability support team ran by Judith Richardson at Newcastle college rye hill campus, block my course applications, all of my communications online are forwarded to her; I feel as a individual with autism there has been indirect discrimination based on the applicants with mental disabilities, I feel at my right of freedom was under threat.

Denying a disabled child of the opportunity that everyone else is entitled to and coop them up on impractical, watered down, reality distorted courses which is not practical to the world of work is wrong.

To segregate disabled people in the Trevelyan building and away from the mainstream College population is wrong.

Newcastle college stop denying disabled children their right to equal chance of education as everybody else, demonising, dehumanising children with disabilities and letting one person dictate their future is wrong.

Newcastle College everybody has the right to be treated equally regardless of disability; today we have exposed that your college hasn't changed in the past 5 years when it comes to making fun of vulnerable groups of people with disabilities.

This is segregation, the weapon of Newcastle College.
