Desperatley needed to locate my mothers will, for probate. The National Will Registry were really helpful and advised me to go further with my search as the original solicitors had ceased trading.
I found the original will in a local location,and was able to collect it from there.
My mothers estate was closed down and i had peace of mind.
Would recommend this service.

Everything was explained clearly and fully in advance by Clive which was very reassuring,the process happened quickly and efficiently I'd recommend the service.

Although I had a photocopy of my mothers will, no one would accept this, the solicitor my mom made her will with, and their successor both ceased trading, I never thought I was ever going to be able to find the actual will to be able to start probate. Having got in touch with the national will register I spoke to Clive Fowler, so friendly, professional and genuinely caring, he explained the search process, and most importantly, the peace of mind that even if nothing turns up, you still have proof that you have tried everything you can to find it, I'll be honest I thought in my case that would be the way it would go but at least i woukd have proof that I had done all I can to find it.
I couldn't believe it when in less than 24 hours I had an email from a solicitors to say that they had the will, and if I could bring my mom's death certificate and my driving licence I would be able to come and pick it up from them, I honestly can't recommend this service enough

Excellent advice from Clive to conduct a REACH search after the basic search failed to find our wills. This resulted in a law firm acknowledging they had the wills from the 1980s within 2 days of launching the search. Very highly recommended and thank you Clive.

I'll preface this by saying that I do think Certainty does important work. I also think some aspects of the service could be improved.

In this case, the search left us with certain information which created more questions than answers. I am limiting details for privacy reasons. However, I have discussed this with Certainty and made suggestions for improvements but found the response somewhat muted and slightly defensive. I understand a certain amount of "legalese" and think I'm fairly literate in general but some communications from Certainty were nebulous at best.

In cases that have a few twists and turns, I wonder if a single point of contact might be possible?

I haven't encountered the famous Clive who sounds wonderful.

To get back to brass tacks, at one point during the search, a caseworker requested additional post codes. I provided several.

It has since come to light that the REACH search did not expand into those areas.

But they are willing to do that now for an additional £100 charge.

This seems like a case of a customer paying twice to get the job done.

It might ultimately be that the most recent will is definitively "lost", sadly. But a more thorough search would have given some peace of mind that one did their best.

I would also remind Certainty of the delicacy required when interacting with the bereaved - even if this is business.

The matter was dealt with quickly and efficiently, and feedback deliver. How you worked was explained clearly by Clive. I would recommend him and your company to anyone who needs help with locating a will. Thank you all

A relative of mine suddenly died and I was unsure what to do as regards his will. I turned to The National Will Register for help. There straightforward process made it very easy for me to trace my relatives will. I would highly recommend this organisation for anything to do with Wills.

Appalling service (lack of) from the company, National Will Register Ltd (aka Certainty Ltd), for which - circa 28 days ago, - on Friday, 16 May 2025, I have paid £140 GBP for their service titled “Will Search Combined”.

On today Friday, 13 June 2025, the company, National Will Register Ltd, has informed me that they cannot find a copy of my father’s Will and Testament.

I know that a Will and Testament does exist for my father, died on Sunday, 27 April 2025, at the Willowdene Care Home, in Hebburn.

NB: Initially, I have presumed (incorrectly), at the Willowdene Care Home, in Stockton on Tees.

His girlfriend has not written to me with the location of the Willowdene Care Home. In the UK there are 3 care homes named Willowdene Care Home (in Stockton on Tees, in Hebburn and in somewhere else).

His girlfriend has received a copy of my father’s Will and Testament. She has written to me that a lawyer in Carnforth, Lancashire, has the original of my father’s Will and Testament.

However, his girlfriend has not written to me with the name of the lawyer.

Why cannot the company find my father’s Will and Testament? Which does exist!

Very helpful in finding my Dad's will after the original solicitors had gone out of business.

Within two weeks we were contacted by a firm of solicitors who had purchased the goodwill from my step father in laws family solicitors business which had ceased trading some years ago. We now have the original will and a certified copy in our possession. Thank you for your help.

I spoke to Clive and he was very helpful friendly and knowledgeable. He helped me with the search by informing me to have a more positive outlook about the search. I took his advice and broardened my search area. A few weeks later I found the solicitors whom were holding the will.

My solicitors searched for the will for three months without any success. Got in touch with National Will Register and they were able to find the original will within 48 hours. Cannot recommend highly enough, great job!

Both of my parents passed away days apart and it was such an emotional and stressful time.
I knew there was a Will but it wasn't at the solicitors where I thought it would be. I tried contacting all the solicitors in the area by phone and email but nothing was found.
